  1. Decadance (original 1989 version) (8:08)
  2. Decadance (Snuffo 2017 reinvention) (6:29)
Review: "Decadance" by Croatian industrial wonder-group NEP was first released all the way back in 1988, when all things post-punk were steering towards the dancefloor. The original tune resided on the band's one and only tape, Nova Evropa, which was technically put out in Yugoslavia, and had to be one of the country's few industrial releases that year. These guys, however, were both radical and chic - a dangerous blend. The lead tune itself is largely indescribable in terms of genres, using electro as the core channel to fuel its mystical and drugged-out cocktail of sonics. There's a 2017 remix on the B-side, produced by Snuffo, who adds a little 4/4 bounce to the original's nutty selection of industrial mechanics and oddball samples.

Review: Former masked techno crusader Adam Rivet started the Kess Kill imprint a couple of years ago, to showcase some lesser known talents from the '80s scene in Europe. French producer Guy Clerbois began his musical career by transforming sounds: creating rhythms with scratched vinyl records and altering their playing speeds plus detuning his guitar. In collaboration with Guy Delhalle, he released a pop single in 1983. In the mid eighties, he began what would become the very concept of Vitor Hublot, making shifted reworks of existing ones. Nice N.D.W/ industrial in the tradition of Les Liaisons Dangereuses or D.A.F. All compositions originally issued on the '185 Millions De Francophones Et Moi, Et Moi, Et Moi...' LP via his own Psoria Discs in 1986.

Review: Music From Memory return, this time with four tracks drawn from Virgil 'Vincent' Work Jnr's little-known cassette only debut from 1987. This album reflects a more stripped back and raw musical approach from the St. Louis musician. The 'Fast Forward' sessions grew out of a series of late night jams with Vincent's brother Scott who was then living in Kansas. With nothing planned in advance and no written music involved in the final recording sessions, the songs that would form 'Fast Forward' very much evolved out of improvisation. As Virgil himself explains, the title of the album in fact came about because it felt "as if I had fast forwarded to a different sound". Although the album received a good response from local radio DJs and music magazines, the album sadly never gained enough momentum or demand for a further run of copies. Fast forward to 2017, exactly thirty years are their production, and Music From Memory are delighted to be able to finally make Vincent's music commercially available again.

Review: Aside from introducing us to artists like Walls and Not Waving, the wonderfully off-kilter Ecstatic imprint has provided the music community with all shades of wavy electronic music from around the globe. While new releases used to be their speciality, they've started dealing in the second-hand market, putting out rare and illustrious music that is hard to find in original format. Trax Test: Excerpts From The Modular Network dates from the years between 1981 and 1987, a time when industrial and post-punk were spiralling into dance music. There's a whole wealth of familiar faces on here, such as The Cop Killers, Colin Potter, Merzbow, Die Form and I Nipoti Del Faraone, but the focus seems to be on the Italian wave of power electronics, a slice of history that is often overlooked, much like the rest of Italy's hidden electronic past. For L24.99, this is a true bargain seeing as most of these tunes are nearly impossible to find on their original cassettes, and there's a booklet inside, for the heads. Masterclass.

Review: Knekelhuis will release Kale Plankieren's first volume of a collection of Dutch rarities that were released on cassette tape in the '80s, with this stuff, in particular, being recorded between 1981 and 1985. Compiled by compiled by Mark van de Maat, it features a wide range of artists, from the Amsterdam Fetish scene and cities such as Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, and Zwolle. It gives "a glimpse into the artistic DIY music movement that was growing extensively outside of mainstream circles.' Acclaimed Detroit duo ADULT. could well of taken their cues from the likes of Y Create or Rotterdans: take a listen. The legendary Das Ding has get a mention in: their track "Meteor Sinkhole" features their unmistakeable sound. The neon-lit pop-funk of De Fabriek's "Het Terrein"probably was around long before Kajagoogoo! It includes liner notes (in English and Dutch) that paint a great picture of the context where these bands and artists lived and breathed.
