Review: Running The Way is a new album from six skilled instrumentalists and one talented mic man in MC Days aka RacecaR. They fuse trumpets, sax, keys, drums, bass and guitar into a fresh mix of hip hop and jazz, Afrobeat, funk and soul into a compelling record that harks back to a 90s heyday while also sounding thoroughly contemporary. Some cuts rolls deep like the lazy drums and nagging horns of 'Gas' while others are more upbeat steppers such as 'The Big Hustle'. Lively, innovative and powered by a compelling groove, this is a very tidy new record for fusion fans.
