Romania is now synonymous with the minimal techno sound that was pioneered by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos back in the early-to-mid 00s. There is no other nation that has championed the genre in this way, and it seems as if we're graced with new, excellent material from Bucharest on a constant basis. Ada Kaleh's self-titled imprint has been right there at the forefront of this movement, and the producer has done the majority of the handwork himself; his own edit of "Minus & Ion" is a little masterpiece, a skeletal techno tune with a charging, dubby groove that has been constructed with minute precision from the beats to the sonics circling around it, while Sepp's edit injects a subtle house sensibility into the tune, and further confirms the Ada Kelah label as being one of the best outlets for this sort of dance music, in 2016.
