Modern Cathedrals 1 & 2 vinyl

Fresh-faced Detroiter Altstadt Echo launched the Modern Cathedrals imprint with a gutsy two-tracker backed with a pair of rather special remixes, and it's a fine thing that there's still plenty of talent coming out of the Michigan techno scene. Simply named "Part One", the first tune is a sparse and swamped techno nugget boasting warm swarms of metallic echo, while "Part Two" clicks its way with total subtlety across dark, vast soundscapes and reminds us of early 2000's Plastikman material. Visionary and future music genius Terrence Dixon warps "Part One" into a chilling collection of wonky bleeps and distant, cavernous kick drums, whereas the emergent Kero totally reinvents 'Part Two" by transforming it into a broken, hazy electro-leaning jam. Pure class on all fronts!
