Detroit Swindle are not from Detroit, nor are they Bostonians despite christening their debut on Murmur after the American City of Education. They actually hail from Amsterdam and arrive on the label run by Mulletover's Geddes after a fine breakthrough release for Saints & Sonnets - the fledgling label set up by deep house poster boy Huxley. The US House indebted sound displayed on their debut is explored further here, with the effervescent lead track "Boston" permanently rising upwards on a skipping groove and the thickest of warm synths. The track is taken on a techier route by ava artist Damiano Von Erckert, with Swindle's boundless energy replaced by something much darker. Do check the flip for the playful rhythmic bounce of "Autumnia" and the shamelessly loose and lusty "Her Song."
