The somewhat unusual Freund Der Familie stable are slowly widening their net to embrace other artists such as with last years FDF Raw series, and now this split EP kicks off the 'Soul' run with some very interesting tracks. Boytalk come correct with a lurching cut that merges sample-heavy 70s psychedelia with an exquisite deployment of sunshine synths, while Filburt remixes the track into a neatly clipped and funky little number. Klinke Auf Cunch belie their Jena roots with a deeper-than-deep house approach to the live band dynamic, while their neighbour Monkey Maffia turns in a cheeky half-step jungle flavoured remix over the original tempo.
