A man whose aliases match those of Legowelt, Roland Sebastian Faber returns with the third release on Aube, proffering yet more of his own unique brand of analogue astronomy across the three tracks that make up the Gegen Den Strom EP. Opening with "Society", Faber further demonstrates a depth of detail and understanding of analogue synths which is on a par with the Italo forebearers. It's quite epic, rising and dipping through various Moog refrains as it glides across the A Side, and is deserving of a wider audience. It is more than matched by the two tracks on the flip, with "Gegenstrom" throbbing with celestial glee, whilst "Renaissance" strips back the percussive elements to allow his synthesizers centre stage. Put down those edits and get involved with this!
