Well, what can we really tell you about Isaac Hayes that you don't already know? Even though the man deserves no introduction: he was one of America's greatest soul singers, he had one of the most distinctive voices in modern black music, and he released countless music through the legendary Stax label. This week, we have a cheeky reissue for you, the Moonlight Lovin EP, originally out on Polydor in 1978, and also called "Menage A Trois". The title track is classic Hayes, where seductive vocals meet a funky slapback groove and a 'cool' kinda vibe. On the flip, the excellent "Stranger In Paradise" swings away at a disco tempo with its uplifting vocals and soothing melodies. Essential and timeless.
