Gothenburg based artist Johan Zetterquist delivers his debut album for the Swedish iDEAL label, unravelling three extended sound sculptures. Drone metal in the vein of Stephen O'Malley that was recorded on a Gibson SG, amplifier and effects: all live with no overdubs. Zetterquist certainly makes the most out of his his limited set up, taking us from blissful/contemplative moments to savage grinding metallic drones. This all aided by Boris Wilsdorf's excellent and detailed recording that lends itself to attentive, immersive listening. Zetterquist has been involved in the local experimental music scene for the better part of over twenty years, as a both a musician and photographer.
