Don't Be Afraid's irregular split series returns with a veritable humdinger of a 12" featuring cuts from Karen Gwyer, Raven Cru, Dukwa and Lily. We are also happy to see some new Karen Gwyer material and the Ann Arbor native is on devilish form with the malfunctioning techno thrust of the superbly-titled "Mom Did It On The Plane". There is no clue as to the identity of Raven Cru, but this production unit switch up the mood brilliantly with the busted, bleep down of "Peeches" which sounds like jungle with the drums removed. Herva's mate Dukwa breaks his DBA duck in fine style with the unpredictable raw house twists of "Sixty Five" leaving No Corner murkist Lily to end the 12" on a high with the delicious electronic abstraction of "Empire Never Ended (DBA version)."
