Anyone with an interest in current techno should be very excited by the prospect of this Anxur collaboration between Donato Dozzy and Marco Shuttle. The Anxur Takes Vol.1 looks to be the first in an ongoing series of collaborative releases from the Italian pair, and their mutual love of deeply psychedelic techno is fully on display across these two tracks. "Volo 1" is the track most will immediately draw for, the warped high pitched 303 bassline and stripped back drum sequencing make it perfect for deployment deep into a set when all concept of time has been lost. The esoteric and abstract approach both are capable of is more evident on the dubby B side, with the trippiness coming from a modulated synth that pulses with shifting dynamism throughout.
