After years of collaborations, features and 45s, Merry Clayton finally released her debut album in 1970 thanks to her contributions to the Rolling Stones classic this LP takes its name from. Setting up her stall with a great sense of urgency, we're flung from story to story never wanting the trip to stop. The gutsy gospel power of "Tell All The People", the sultry bluesy twists of Simone's classic "I've Got Life", the northern soul stomp of "Forget It I Got It"... The list goes on. This really captures Clayton at a magical moment.
