Oh yes, it's a new blockade of high-class Finnish techno in the shape of a DUM bomb! Mono Junk's label has seen a revival as of late, both in terms of sought-after reissues, and new techno missiles with that unmistakable sound that made this label so special. It's a family thang with this new single, aptly named the Finnish Electro All Star EP, a five-tracker offering a supremely diverse collection of tunes ranging from downright electro thrashings to more techno-spirited arrangements. Morphology's opener "Vector Plant" is rooted in the Drexciyan tradition, whereas Irwin Berg's "Love Me" blurs the lines between power electronics and...no, it's just straight-up industrial madness. The flipside starts off with "Almost There" by Mr Velcro Fastener, a deep, melodic electro excursion, Mono Junk's own "Feeling Or Destroy" delivers some heavier bass nastiness on the low end, and "Shortcut" from the New York City Survivors packs one last, powerful punch to the senses with its curiously grime-like bassline. A hotly recommended affair...
