Exit turn to more experimental fare after the tribalistic menace of Dub Phizix and Skeptical's all conquering Marka, with the excellent Synkro making a welcome return. The producer has been dabbling in some decidedly frosted house and techno deviations for the likes of Styrax and Millions of Moments in recent times, and though "Progression" retains some of the steamed out atmospherics of Synkro's release on the former, the track does shift closer to the 170bpm marker. Drum programming that feels almost brittle in texture scales upwards through a backdrop of sumptuous harmonies and pensive textures. Studio cohort Indigo aligns the B Side with a remix that wisely retains the original's charm whilst laying down some staccato bursts of sub bass and chopped drums. Tough!
