More of uncompromising abrasiveness from the L.I.E.S. camp, this time courtesy of Brooklyn's Danny Moore who makes his debut on the White label series under the Pvre Matrix name. Exciting things are happening in the NYC district on the basis of these three cuts from Moore; first up title track "Burning Sulfur" channels Jeff Mills circa Waveform Transmissions Vol. 1 with its industrial strength brutality. "Refusal" brings down the tempo considerably with its unashamedly rusty analogue drum groove workout and "Hyper Object" gets into the entrancing, tunnelling vibe with its hypnotic claves and droning atmosphere. A most promising record from this newcomer!
