Although CDs of the Dust Brothers' impressive score for legendary 1999 movie Fight Club are easy to come by, securing a copy of the 2001 vinyl pressing has long been a tricky task. Happily, Mondo has decided to give it the reissue treatment, pressing the two-record set on heavyweight pink vinyl. The music remains hugely alluring, with the Dust Brothers accompanying their usual dusty, on-point hip-hop beats with a mixture of creepy, stretched-out chords, David Holmes style textures, mildly foreboding motifs, fuzzy Nine Inch Nails style guitars, and even occasional nods towards Drexciyan style electro creepiness. It's not your average movie soundtrack score, that's for sure, which may explain why it still sounds thrillingly fresh.
