According to Northern Electrics, Jonas Ronnberg's latest outing under the Varg pseudonym is themed around "dominance and glamour". Ironically, given the Story of K title, it actually sounds more like a particularly bad experience following the accidental ingestion of mega-strength horse tranquilizers. It is, of course, mighty impressive in its' creepy, unsettling, discordant way, with Ronnberg flitting between bleak, industrial-influenced soundscapes, more picturesque ambient fare ("A Destructive Flame", whose sampled, spoken word vocal finally tells the story of 'K'), dense drone textures ("Weekend In Captivity", which is particularly dystopian), and sparse-but-throbbing modular techno ("Dialogue & Privilege", "Her Russian Eye Is Underlined For Emphasis").
