  4. Through The Motions (U-More remix)
Review: Laura Jones unveiled her new label Sensoramic in May with SAM and Karousel cutting the opening tape in appropriate style. For the second release Laura delivers her first EP since 2014. After taking time out to experiment in the studio and refine her style, The Why Question marks an evolution in the UK producer's output delivering two incendiary underground club cuts ably remixed by Trevino and U-More. Two veterans working under aliases, Trevino is of course better known as legendary drum 'n' bass producer Marcus Intalex who has more recently found a home for his 4/4 output on Klockworks, The Nothing Special and his own label, Birdie. U-More is Italian veteran and Berliner, Ivan Iacobucci, fresh from releasing on Apollonia and a slew of underground minimalist labels who delivers a late night acid laden afterhours workout to compliment Trevino's big room counterpart.

  7. Pale Eyes (4:40)
  8. Soft Grey Moon (4:42)
Review: To date, Laurene Exposito's Eye project has remained a steadfastly cassette-only affair. Sabine not only marks the moody electronic maverick's first appearance on vinyl, but also her debut full-length excursion. Drawing together complimentary influences such as dark Italo-disco, no wave, minimal-wave, proto-techno and EBM, the album sees Exposito pepper dark, stylish instrumentals and sparse, heartfelt grooves with distinctively strange vocals. It's a formula that frequently hits the mark, particularly on the drowsy, loved-up "You're So Fine", the trippy title track, and the bombastic, alien techno weirdness of "Undress". Best of all, though, is the poignant melodiousness of closing track "Soft Grey Moon".

Review: Recently rediscovered DAT's circa 2000's from one of the UK's finest music talents - Mark Broom.
Recorded at the legendary South London UXB Studios, Mark treats us to four cuts of timeless perfection.
Ranging from warm, stripped back dub to floor-ready minimal grooves, lush detroit pads and a liquid dubstep blueprint this 12" covers all bases.
A collectors dream and a DJ's best friend - deadly playable and not to be missed...

Review: A very special release for Wicked Bass this time, coming from a personal favourite: Antonio Marini aka Healing Force Project. Kicking things off, 'Kinetic Drawing' takes you on an anxiety-inducing journey via smokey jazz ambiences and elastic dub pools whilst Swedish producer Porn Sword Tobacco takes care of the flip with a dazzling edit of latin-house infused rhythms and tropical scapes. An ode to Summer's warmth and love. 100% pleasure!

Review: Melbourne debut label Local Traffic brings us 3 deep melodic dub techno tracks from Amsterdam born producer Ohrwert. Ohrwert has a great history of production, with a hefty resume of releases, from his ambient productions under his birth name Arjen Schat to his well known dub techno releases under alias Ohrwert. The first track on the A side "Pathos" brings heavy basslines and acid like chords, while A2 "Tornus" and B1 "Weallian" delves into deep melodic synths and beautiful dub chords.

  4. January 13th (6:48)
Review: Despite an impressive discography and fine reputation, Irish techno twosome TR-One has been surprisingly quiet of late. In fact, this EP for Lunar Disko is their first release of note for three years. As you might expect, the four tracks are mostly informed by the classic house and techno strains of the US Mid-West - it is called Chicarlow after all! There are occasional nods towards more creepy, hypnotic European fare (see "Wolseley"), and early '90s style "intelligent techno" ("January 13th") too. Our pick of the bunch is "Lights In Your Rear View Mirror", a shimmering, Motor City-informed chunk of glistening techno futurism blessed with wonderful chord progressions and spacey melodies.

Review: Detroit legend Terrence Dixon's year 2000 opus entitled From The Far Future receives a repress on the home of true techno: Berlin's Tresor. Hailed as one of the key proponents of The Motor City's minimal sound alongside Robert Hood and Daniel Bell, Dixon's stripped, cyclical and soulful productions offered up on this album are viewed by many of his fans as some of his finest moments. There are some skillfully executed tracks on this album. There is of course the bleepy funk functionality of "The Bionic Man", the dusty sci-fi stomp of "One Bedroom Apartment" and the emotively uplifting shuffle of "Hard Times" among many other gems. Definitely one for the heads!
