The Willers Brothers - "Quantise" (6:49)
Julien Sandre & Mennie - "Spacer" (7:50)
Laurent Ci - "Turn" (8:06)
Review: Berlin's Ewax are back with more lush yet tough deep house goodness, on another various artists compilation. Starting out on the A side with the smooth late night groove of "The Old Shit" by Spanish duo Carlos Vila & Hector Avila aka 2vilas while the second offering on the A side comes courtesy of The Willers Bros with "Quantise" where the EGG London residents throw down some loopy swing fuelled tech house. On the flip Julien Sandre & Mennie turn the heat up on "Spacer" (our personal favourite on here!) while Laurent Ci's "Turn" shows us something emotive to dance to.

Tommy Vicari Jnr - "L I W F U" (6:30)
Review: It's been a while since the Albion stable graced our platters, but they're back in style with more of that on-point house music voodoo for the heat of the night. This single is a vessel for the various sides of Tommi Vicari Jr, who rolls out his Czevski alias to deliver a bruising remix of "57 Hertz" by 76-79. It's a reverb-soaked, dubbed out affair with a rock solid rhythm section and plenty of trippy FX tweaking on top. On the flip it's a different story with a similar feeling as we get the straight up Tommi Vicari Jr material in the shape of two killer tracks crafted for transcendental moments of dancefloor hypnosis.

MLM & Max Cohle - "Contraste" (Anjou mix) (7:17)

Review: La Menace is a shadowy collective hailing from France committed to the craft of minimal tech house, with the focus squarely on the tunes on a series of various artist releases. This time around, the proceedings get going in fizzy, freakout style with Abdul Raeva's proggy stormer 'Concorde', while Ginko locks into a slender beat construction on 'Jungle Palazzo'. Takadoum creates an emotive strain of acid on 'Boulevard Hofmann' and MLM & Max Cohle get one of those groovesome, subby basslines rolling on the guaranteed floor worker 'Contraste (Anjou Mix)'. Ginko returns to close the EP out with the sparkling, shimmering splendour of lightly breakbeat-powered joint 'Hors Serie'.

Admnti - "Hypersphere" (7:03)
T Jacques - "Five Dollar Shake" (6:16)
T Jacques - "Blunted" (7:42)
Review: There has been no stoping the good people behind Manchester's Dansu Discs this year. They have served up a wealth of club ready sounds that take in garage, house, techno and minimal from a range of fresh artists. After standouts from the likes of Wilfy D and Vitess coes this super split from Admnti and T Jacques. There is a seductive smoothness to the comsic house pumper that is opener 'Overthink' while 'Hypersphere' has a warm, surging bassline that will act as a life-giving pulse for any club. T Jacques immediately cuts loose on the futuristic tech of 'Five Dollar Shake' and 'Blunted' is another characterful collection of house kicks, watery effects and old school baselines that surge through the stars.

Shacklo - "Bermuda" (6:43)
Review: Pathway Traxx's diffusion label OFFPath returns with its fourth installment, featuring four heroes of the minimal house underground curated by label boss Niko Maxen. We have Londoner Adam Monti (4plae) up first with the sunny tech house of "Camberwell Blues", then Dudley Strangeways & Tijn close out the A side with some deep afterhours boompty business. On the flip, Rising star Josh Baker out of Leeds delivers more of his reliably hypnotic and slinky groove action on "Rewriting Old Methods" and Shacklo's "Bermuda" channels the very best of Todd Terry style classic house.

Alex Jangle & MatztaM - "Glowbones" (7:04)
Faer - "Serious Repitions" (7:43)
Deadbeat & The Mole - "All Creepy No Sleepy" (5:45)
Review: It is no mean feat to last 10 years no matter your business, but to do so as a record label in this day and age is worthy of maximum respect. Fair play to Det Gode Selskab then for marking the occasion with a tidy new 12" that showcases just what the label is all about. There is chunky tech with grinding bass but lush old school melodies on 'Can't Cure Curiosity' while Alex Jangle & Matztam's 'Glowbones' cuts totally loose on dreamy synth daubs, painterly lines and rubbery house loops. Faer takes a more dark, heads-down path for his spooky 'Serious Repetions' and as you would expect of Deadbeat & The Mole they bring off-kilter loops, unbalanced drums and a ramshackle rhythm that will have you shaking your bones.

Tip Top - "Control Alt Defeat" (6:39)
Review: Like its five predecessors, the sixth volume in the ongoing Nuances de Nuit series gathers together club-focused cuts from a quartet of producers, all of which could be considered rising stars of the underground tech-house scene. Sometime Subsequent contributor James Andrew kicks off proceedings with 'Reality Call', a bumping, elasticated bounce through spacey and swinging tech-house territory, before Nathan Pinder peppers a driving groove with deep space sounds and mid '90s US garage chords on 'Stutter'. Over on the reverse, The Trip offers up a tough, driving and melodic workout ('Big Trouble'), while Tip Top steals the show via the bleeping dub house hypnotism of 'Control Alt Defeat', where swelling pads, deep sub-bass and delay-laden electronics catch the ear.

Libino (6:43)
Be Heard (7:22)
Enderman (7:34)
Review: No Art Red is a newly established sub label that comes through with the goods here thanks to a fine collaborative effort from Anotr and Toman. Both of them know how to craft a catchy minimal tune and have done so plenty of times, often topping digital charts as a result. The four bombs they cook up here are nice and stylish, with 'Time' layering jazzy chords and lingering pads over shuffling and deep beats. There is a little more height and bouncy to 'Libino' but it is just as smooth. Things do shift up a gear on the flip, when the vibe gets more sleek and techno on 'Be Heard' and the punchy 'Enderman.'

Ichi (7:49)
Go (Le Porc Du Havre) (7:48)
Ju (6:19)
Review: There's no better way to kick off the newly formed Omakase catalogue than with a sizzlingly acidic minimal/tech house release from Antraum - the collaborative project from producers Anton and Traumer. On the A-side, 'Ichi' is a mouthwatering introduction to the project, exploring what happens when the details of a track are fixed to the backdrop - subtle flecks of vocals, instrumentation, and acid-hued gestures offered as a gift to the most attentive listeners. Flipping over to the B-side, 'Go (Le Porc Du Havre)', features expertly spliced vocal samples, paired with animal calls that sound either pre-historic or extraterrestrial - either way, they're out of this world. The final track, 'Ju', is the deepest of the three - cosy synths duet beautifully with the fragmented, bluesy vocal sample, riding the wave of the track's irresistible groove. Three distinct tracks tied together with perfection, this is a stellar first release for Omakase.

Review: Omakase keeps up the momentum of its fine first release with a second sizzling followup, this time from Trauma alongside Anton under their collaborative guise Antraum. It's a case of super silky sounds only here with deft and dubbed out tech on the opener 'Hachi', which is defined by a superb vocal hook. 'Roko' is a jittery rhythm with breakbeat and icy cold hits all warmed through by a fine bassline. 'San' shuts down with a nice laid back tech beat that encourages you to sink deep into it.

Alex Arnout - "Hypersomnia"

Terry Francis - "Jua"
Kilian Vega - "Ardour"
Review: Jack's House is back with another wedge of crucial cuts from a spread of big hitters, kicking off with Alex Arnout and the tightly wound roller "Hypersomnia." Tuccillo is in a heads down mood on "Another Day," letting the drums and the bassline do the brunt of the work. Terry Francis favours a heavy, smoky sound palette that has a bassline that will do some serious damage on a decent system - "Jua" is easily the strongest track on the record. Killan Vega closes the record with a smart deep house jam peppered with crafty sound design elements that lift the track beyond the average chord-led workout.

Review: The Fourier label is back with more minimal dance floor magic, and the second release is a collaborative affair packed with talent. It's Aztec, Dark Male, Rob Bellfield and The Vast Profound who all come through here and start off with 'Sweet Music', a nice balmy and dubby cut for zoned out listening .'Unlimited Apex' pairs pensive basslines with smeared and expansive pads, then 'Standard Model' has a more warped and mind-melting cosmic take on warm, deep rolling tech. 'Silence After The Storm' is the gorgeously serene closer. Classy stuff for sure.

Review: Some of Europe's finest purveyors of underground sounds come together on this fourth rase from the One Eye Witness label out of the Netherlands. Asphalt DJ kicks off and lays out a steamroller of a techno banger in 'Blades' which is pulsing, hard hitting but supple. RDS gets for a much more minimal and cosmic vibe on the tight and bouncy 'TH Only' then Ste Roberts brings some machismo and texture to 'Tune Pitch Decay' with its industrial tech aesthetic. Tammo Hesselink closes down the EP with the loose and bendy tones, scattered hits and late night minimal eeriness of 'Untitled 42.'

Review: Melodic, love torn, inspiring, euphoric and heartfelt are all words to help explain the emotional drive of the music Matthew Dear makes as Audion. They are all certainly applicable to new Kompakt jam "Dem Howl" too, and this is thanks in part to the vocals of Troels Abrahamsen, lead singer of Danish indie rock group VETO, who turns a moody bassline dub into a meaningful house production not too dissimilar to classic Junior Boys material. And who else better to remix a track like this than Kompakt legend Michael Mayer who keeps Abrahamsen's voice up front, adding a slight choral and extra chiming percussion. Kompakt striking all the right notes here.

T3x3 - "Baganoush" (5:23)
Review: Six months ago Laidlaw and Jamie Mannion launched a new offshoot of their beloved Beeyou imprint, Subee. The sub-label's second release showcases cuts from not one by two little-known producers. B0n is at the controls on side A, first delivering the colourful, bassline-driven house bounce of "Bitch Face", before reaching for the squelchy electronics, ear-catching synths and booming sub-bass on "What's That". Over on side B T3x3 delivers two funky fusions of UK garage, tech-house and deep house. "Mother F*cking Sh*t" sees the producer pepper a snappy two-step beat with deep analogue bass, dubbed out tech-house riffs and quirky electronics, while "Baganoush" sounds like an unlikely collaboration between Chez Damier, MJ Cole and Sheffield swingers Swag (look 'em up, kids).

Review: Tel-Aviv-based label Tofistock helped shape out their sound with the first volume of Hyper Love in 2021, and now they return with another round of fun and feisty club tracks which speak to the Israeli love affair with psy-trance while offering a modern context for the sound. Babylon X takes a richly melodic approach which fuses big synth pads and sweet 303 lines with a smart, pulsing drop for a proper gear shift when you want to lock a crowd in even deeper. Asphalt DJ & Gzardin have a whale of a time with the punchy, pumping pressure of 'Sweaty Ride' while MYKI & Matris keep it turned up to the peak time with a catchy, vocal-speckled workout. For our ears though you need to make sure you check Tantra Motion's dreamy 'To U', which tips over towards heady machine soul for the subtler corners of a set.

Tim Karbon - "Chapter IV" (8:43)
Review: Vox Populi Records head Frederic Scharf travelled to Turkey on an eight day trip. His team collected live recordings, jam sessions and field recordings and here are the results of it. Istanbul producer Baris K is up first with a truly majestic track that is "Chapter I" sounding like something Ricardo Villalobos would stand up and notice. Montreal's Valentin Stip appears on the same side of the record with "Chapter II" utilising more of the lovely exotic instrumentation incorporated into a smooth minimal house excursion. On the flip "Chapter III" by Berlin's Volkan Akin is the real standout on here; a percussion driven workout taking in the sounds of a busy street market, allowing you to imagine yourself on a motorcycle ride through the city. Finally "Chapter IV" from Tim Karbon gets its groove on in a nice rolling fashion complete with emotive strings and tripped out samples that will easily work a peak time dancefloor.

Pascal Benjamin - "Falkhill" (6:32)
Review: The next airdrop from the good ship Constant Black is a various artists affair with four tracks from four artists guaranteed to find a home in your extended micro sesh. Pascal Benjamin takes the lead with "Falkhill", locking into a Romanian-flavoured minimal breaks formation that rolls in resplendent fashion with a particularly choice vocal lick from an undisclosed RnB track. Michael James and Benjamin Joseph nudge the pitch fader up and dial in the swing for the decidedly funky wiggler "The Island", and TIJN keeps things bumping but works in some sharper drum sounds for the tough but bouncy "Maybe". Nick Beringer finishes the record off with the chunky funk of "Nyx", calling to mind Mike Shannon amongst others.

By the sounds of the collection, they're a motley crew of studio mutants united by a love of creaking hardware, sci-fi synths and intergalactic dancefloor workouts. Happily, highlights are plentiful, from the acid-fired, bleep-heavy throb of S-Audio's "Remote Circuit" and weighty electro crackle of Binh's "Wova", to the dreamy underwater deepness of EK Box's "Watair" and the classic deep house/Detroit techno fusion of So Inagawa's futurist masterpiece "Solitary Affair". Review: This EP marks something of a departure for self-proclaimed "tripped-out micro-house" imprint Yama Music, which previously acted solely as an outlet for the fast-rising production duo of the same name. They're present on this EP of course, opening side B with the pulsing pads, weighty sub-bass and glitchy beats of "Back Where You Belong", but the majority of the tracks come courtesy of like-minded producers from around the Globe. Birdsmakingmachine make a big impression with the mind-altering acid bass and crunchy machine drums of "Moorbet", while Locic and Dan Formless successfully join forces on the simultaneously chunky, weighty and hypnotic "No Laughing Matter". Our pick of a very strong bunch is TIJN's closing cut, "Nikkee", which wraps a jazzy bassline and smooth drums in gorgeously warm and woozy sci-fi chords.

Review: "Haste makes waste." That's the motto of German imprint Derive who grace our shelves with their annual release - the third volume of label showcases since they emerged in 2009 sporting the now established names like Rau and Brunn. Proceedings open on Derive Vol. 3 in delicious circumstances thanks to "9 to 5" from the largely unheralded Bjornski and the more well known A Different Jimi - there's no great equation to the track which glides across the A Side, it's simply a well produced deep house cut graced with subtle little touches that will catch many an ear. Sometime Fine Art Recordings artist Achim Maerz excels too with the snappy, dubby house textures of "Haters Gonna Hate" replete with deep bass tones which really need to be heard on a big system. Hamburg resident Tilman Tausendfreund slips down the BPMs for the final track "With You" a delightfully downtempo exercise which is no less impressive than what preceded it.

Review: The label's next anniversary record, no.20, is going to be released as a special, exclusive loop compilation bringing together all Rrygular artists.
On the b-side there are 18 loop grooves produced by artists who have released on the Mo's Ferry sublabel. The collection is well assorted and
arranged in a DJ-friendly way. The a-side belongs solely to Marek Bois but it's not a bundle of loops again Instead it's a new burner named 'Kimpton',
which follows-up on his last two-tracker, 'Bed Bois Bloo' and anticipates the upcoming debut Marek Bois album.

Review: Pleasure Zone continues to be an inspiring force in the European minimal tech house scene, and they've really pulled the stops out with this essential new release from Boutiq.808 and Tom Marvin. We're not hip to who these cats are, but their music says it all as they skip through snappy rhythms and bold synth forms with the kind of flair you might find on a Spacetravel record. If you appreciate your quirky minimal played out with a live immediacy and some of that Perlon-esque sauce, this record will be well up your street.

Bowyer - "Box Of Frogs" (7:04)
Tjin - "Xoi2" (7:28)
POM - "Mocki" (6:41)
Wil Do - "In Nori" (7:26)
Review: As the current minimal sound further branches out into new, funkier shades of tech, labels like NCSS are surfacing left, right and centre, and what a pleasure it is to see the scene evolve so well. The crew launch their first EP with a collaboration across four tunes, each one of them offering its own shade of electronics. "Box Of Frogs", by Bowyer, opens the A-side with a nutty sequence of grainy beats and a funky-ass bassline with a dark twist, followed by Tjin's more stripped back burner, "Xoi2". "Mocki" from POM is deeper, more meditative, and offers something jazzier, whereas Will Do's "Inori" goes for the Balearic approach, entering a dreamy world of ice-cold pads and soulful atmospherics. Lush.

Review: MixCult present another various artists 12" of sleek minimal tech and dub tech grooves for discerning DJs, leading in with the shimmering metallic cloudbursts of Bruit Blanc and Moodeep's 'Sunshine'. Ohm & TM Shuffle follow that up with the dreamy, rainy day deepness of 'We Penetrate Them' before Genning remixes Atart's 'JNVPE' into a tightly-wound tripper for the late hours of the dance. DJ <3 gets to send the record off in style with 'Uyar', a contemplative cut laced with downcast synth undulations and a steady-ticking rhythmic undercarriage. If you prefer your 4/4 with a liberal side serving of introspection, this is the record for you.

Martin Buttrich - "Space Babe"
Appleblim - "Moonlight"
The Mole - "Even Now Just Us"
Review: Subsequent to the release of Vitalik's latest collaboration compilation in cahoots with Ibizan stalwarts We Love.... Space, the Spanish label presents the first in a series of vinyl samplers for the wax fiends. As samplers go it's pretty tasty and varied, stacking Martin Buttrich up against Bristol lynchpin Appleblim and 7 Inches Of Love's The Mole. "Space Babe" finds the always amusing to pronounce Buttrich in playful form, marrying a touch of wonkiness with the deep rhythms that are poised at an upward directory. Appleblim's "Moonlight" is typically revelatory, flushing all manner of stretched vocal elements with shimmering flourishes of light across a backdrop of intricately broken up syncopation and oven ready bass. The Mole dominates the B Side with the expansive, emotive, twilight slinkathon "Even Now Just Us" unfurling from the delicate chords of the opening bars into a delightfully elongated arrangement of multi faceted percussive touches and bubbling analogue tones.

Shampoo - "Track 6" (8:10)
Review: Qir's Lowlife Cartel label has been offering up sinuous strains of techno and electro since 2017, focusing on VA releases to keep the scope of the label broad, and preferring to focus on loose themes for each record. This time around, Kodoku opens up with Saverio Celestri's bubbling acid-electro before Delta and Prince De Takicardie plunge into wondrous sci-fi excursions for those who like their techno springy, supple and downright freaky. There's some distinctly different sounds on the B-side, as Koste spits and snarls over 'Brick To The Face' by Tundramane. Solar Alliance take things in a more cosmic, trance-minded direction, and Shampoo finish proceedings off with a curious slice of mournful breakbeat synth pop, if you can imagine such a combo.

Review: Politics Of Dancing continues celebrating its fifth anniversary with a cast of crucial house warriors keeping the flame burning bright. First up on this 12" is Chris Stussy, who whips up an especially funky concoction with the bubbling "Monday 8th", before DJOKO and T Jacques dub things out in style with the swirling but thumping "Directions". The ever-prolific Michael James appears on the B-side with "Solstice", a mystically tinged deep house bumper laden with zippy sound FX and sprinkled with subtly swung groove. Jamahr completes the set with "Underwater", a deep immersion bath of sound that edges towards classic techno while keeping the groove on the straight and narrow.

Review: Since the We_r House label appears to be jointly run by Berliners the Willers Brothers and Cinthie, it seems fitting that both artists make telling contributions to the imrpint's second 12". Cinthie handles side A, serving up both the early Morning Detroit techno hypnotism of "Control" and the chunky and tactile, U.S style deep house bump of "Palm Trees in Wedding". The Willers Brothers' "Goes On and On" offers a return to the locked-in dancefloor hypnotism that marks out Cinthie's EP opener, albeit with a few more dreamy melodic elements to entice the deep house heads, before those tuneful, warm and atmospheric vibes are further explored on the skipping New Jersey vibes of closer "Don't Slip".

Has it really been eight years since we were last graced by the elevated musicality and marvel of Mathew Jonson's ensemble group with Danuel Tate and Tyger Dhula? Time flies and it feels like we're in comfortable territory even as the Jazz take us to some wonderful new places on this collaborative EP with fellow Wagon Repair alumni The Mole. The keys sound ever more expressive and exquisite, while Jonson's unmistakable touch on the programming is as inspired as ever. This band-spirited approach to deep house never fails to deliver sparkling results and Cobblestone Jazz sound like the soul-enriching tonic we all need in our lives. Welcome back.

Review: Cosmoz Records is "a mutant program where minimal wizards link their magic to shape the future of dance music." First up is the pairing of Constratti & Techu across four Serengetis cuts of spaced out tech. 'Pulse' slithers its way into your psyche with its supple synths and drums glistening like metal. 'Ripple' is bubbly number with subtle funk in its rhythms and 'Quarks' keeps up the stylish sound designs but this time with a more paired back and dubbed out tech vibe. Last of all is 'Void', a a more spacious cut for the afters, perhaps.

Review: Meander has been one of minimal and tech houses most vital labels over the years. It has remained low key but high quality and now gets a big selection of names to continue to this third edition of their Family Jubilee series. First up is the master minimalist and cult hero Christi Cons. 'For No Reason' is a lush symphony of starry-eyed synths and crispy tech drums that bring real class to the dance floor. Topper's 'Bell Without A Cow' is a more whacked out, dreamy number that draws you into its waify pads and skeletal drums and keeps you there. 'Estromanium' is a typically tight and kinetic closer from DeWalta.

A-side track 'Stranger To No One' is exactly the kind of hypnotic, dub-laden rolling drama you'd expect from this magical pairing, followed by the highly engineered tech house of 'Apres Midi' on the flip, which incorporates sleek trance arpeggios into its deep groove. Jichael Mackson (Fluff In The Bellybutton)
Review: For several years Andre Crom is known as resident DJ of Düsseldorf's "Harpune Club" and the monthly clubnight "Heimatmelodie" at Essen's "Hotel Shanghai". Since some time he has also been active as a producer, on his own as well as with partners. The first result of his cooperation with Alex Krüger (aka Tigerskin, Dub Taylor & the producer of Phonique) is an instant peaktime slammer. That the guys know very exactly what drives a dancefloor is obvious after just a few seconds. The beats and bleeps are crisp and clear and when the mad flange-sounds set in, dancefloor madness is guaranteed. That's also the opinion of DJs like Magda, Troy Pierce, Jay Haze, Kiki or Jesse Rose, who have been playing the promo-CDR for months already. "The Journey Is The Reward" that's something Munich based producer Jichael Mackson seems to have had in mind while producing "Fluff In My Bellybutton". The man who will always be fondly remembered for delivering a formidable "Blow Job" on Pasta Musik, does not go straight from A to B. He rather lurches, wavers and bounces around many corners. This is like an extensive ride on a pogo stick in slow motion. Additionally, "Fluff..." is the musical equivalent to a branchless patchwork vista, comprising anything between minimal, deephouse, breakbeats or acid. But make no mistake: This is not a mash-up of all sorts of stuff stitched together quickly. It is music of a piece, still flexible enough to melt into the chinks separating genres.

Review: Mirko Hecktor and Tom Sprenger founded Terra Magica in 2021 as a platform for their brand of psychedelically-charged house and techno, and they've quickly built up a strong identity and a burgeoning community of likeminded astral travellers. Look no further than this quality split release for all the proof you need, as Lucas Croon threads Balearic, prog and trance together before the label bosses (Hektisch Sprengen DJs) weave some mystical mantras of their own and Dea revels in boxy Chicago jack crossed with Island boogie. It's an eclectic mix to be sure, with another three joints taking in uptempo proto-trance and anthemic emo-acid-breaks aplenty. Draw for the big feelings and get freaky in the process - what's not to love?

"Angel", penned with the Tale Of Us boys, is an urgent mover with peppy drums and searching dashes of synth clipped into dynamic and ear snagging arrangements. "Head Above Water" reaches for the moody vocal talents of Aquarius Heaven, going for a techy construction that keeps the beat minimal while the melodics come in subtle pulsing tones that create a deeply hypnotic concoction perfect for the blurry end of the night.

Late summer hit for everybody. Speaking of Ibiza. Tom Pooks, who surprised us with Speicher 37 with ecstatic neo-acid fireworks, convinces again through and through. Alex Danilov, Brother G and Yuri Shulgin team up for a triple collab resulting in the track "Untitled", a swerving and fruity mix of flutes, chimes, pads and dusty drums. A5 makes use of some Ray Manzarek keys, sampling the Doors "Riders On The Storm", layering some noisy electronics over the top, while Kurvenschreiber keeps things psychedelic with some Krautrock styled synthesis in "Leitweg".
