  1. Bring It Back (6:05)
  2. Infected System (4:45)
  3. Parranoid (5:36)
  4. Cosmic Drift (5:57)
Review: For the uninitiated, Dawl is the alias of one Darren Woollard - a London based producer in charge of Tone Dropout since 2013. He has also served up some great releases of late on Berlin imprints Libertine and Klasse Wrecks. His new Infected System EP is for Shadow Play, a Paris based operation run by veteran DJ Le Loup (aka Hold Youth) and Pura. Classic UK rave aesthetics of yesteryear are catered for on "Bring It Back" with snarling 303 acid accompanied by fierce breakbeat action. On the flip are he pays homage to Yorkshire techno on the tunnelling banger "Parranoia" which uses more of that signature TB-303 sound and the deeply emotive hypnotism of "Cosmic Drift".

Techno
  1. Bad Trip (5:43)
  2. Tune In Space (5:49)
  3. Alpha 101 (6:27)
  4. Dark Space (6:48)
Review: Over the last year or two, Darren "Dawl" Woollard has proved to be one of British techno's most on-point revivalists. Here he pops up on Libertine with more mind-altering peak-time fare full of subtle references to records of old. There's something particularly wild and psychedelic about EP opener "Bad Trip", a throbbing chunk of mid-tempo techno rich in ghostly chords, glassy-eyed spoken word samples and layer upon layer of TB-303 acid lines. "Tune In Space" doffs a suitably oversized cap to "bleep and breaks" style early UK hardcore (think "LFO" chords, "Testone" bleeps, heavy sub bass and skittish drums), while "Alpha 101" sounds like the kind of record "Evil" Eddie Richards might have made around 1990. "Dark Space" meanwhile, is a killer electro cut laden in bleep-style melodies.

  1. Dawl - "Nebulon" (6:16)
  2. Daif - "Soberman" (7:35)
  3. Ascot/WW - "FIFA 98" (4:56)
  4. Alphonse - "Direct Transient" (7:07)
  5. Jamie Blanco - "Acid Damage" (5:47)
  6. ToneBreak 3 (3:57)
Review: When it comes to revivalist rave music, no other label does it quite as well as Tone Dropout. Their multi-artist EPs are invariably excellent and this seventh edition once again hits the mark. Dawl kicks things off via the fizzing "bleep and breaks" business of "Nebulon", before Daif dishes up some sweaty breakbeats and mind-altering analogue bass. Ascot and WW join forces for the bleep-goes-breakdance bustle of "FIFA 98", Alphonse wraps twisted acid lines and outer-space chords around a hip-house breakbeat ("Direct Transient"), and Jamie Blanco gets intense with the help of a bunch of TB-303 acid lines and some suitably jacking drums. In other words, it's another killer collection of saucer-eyed assaults on the senses.

  2. Dawl - "Cyborg"
  3. Tristan Da Cunha - "Move (Let Me See U)"
  4. Freakenstein - "Feakin' Time (+ Freak-A-Pella)"
Review: Hearlucinate was born as a party in Leeds, England and is now taking it's vibe to the capital London for a series of events. At each of these parties there will be a limited edition record created by resident Tristan da Cunha and the special guest of the party. For the debut release we have Tone Dropout's dance floor detonator Dawl dropping two tasty cuts , Tristan da Cunha coming with a nice house club bubbler and Freakenstein punching in with a strong debut in the shape of a booty banging electro jam. Designed purely for the dance floor ... these jams are guaranteed to slam.
