Brother Julian - "Kay Watt" (7:01)
Roman Truth - "Disco Vigilante" (6:19)
Delfonic - "Nada Is Going To Change" (6:51)
Caldera Republic - "Grito De Guerra" (5:18)
Review: Disco Mind Records impressed everyone with its first EP and now it deals with the pressure of coming back with a second in fine fashion. This one is perfect for warm days and summer nights as it offers four high-impact and gloriously feel-good Brazilian and disco edits all pulled off to perfection. New young talent Brother Julian kicks off with a peak time and groovy burner, then disco don Romand Truth goes a little more deep and smooth with his seductive sound. Delfonic offers the percussive Latin grooves of 'Nada is Going to Change' and 'Grito de Guerra' is another upbeat open-air rhythm.

Black Gammon (Delfonic rework) (5:56)
Warm Spring (Delfonic rework) (6:06)
Yes I Do (Delfonic rework) (5:22)
Your Life Is A Party (Delfonic rework) (7:20)
Review: The mighty Gamm label has always been a treasure trove when it comes to dancefloor goodness from the worlds of disco, funk and hip hop. That continues here as the label hurts towards an impressive 200 releases with a new one from Delfonic in remix mode. Opening up the EP is 'Black Gammon' (Delfonic rework), a jazzy disco dancer with a whole world of busy chords and keys. 'Warm Spring' (Delfonic rework) is then a more subdued and seductive sound with big drums and sun worshipping keys. On the flip is the Delfonic version of 'Yes I Do', another timeless disco groove with heavy jazz keys and last of all is the big and steamy disco stomper that is 'Your Life Is A Party' (Delfonic rework).

Boogie On (6:12)
It's Dancing Time (6:04)
Bring On The Music (6:32)
The Mass Fire (6:47)
Review: German DJ and producer Delfonic has been putting out great edits and reworks for some time on labels like Razor-N-Tape, Too Slow To Disco, or Nomada, but he has gained great recognition thanks especially to the Illegal Jazz series with his friend Kapote from Toy Tonics. Now comes his debut for Night Shift Records with an EP of four edits entitled 'The Journey Reworked' that reveals all his good work when it comes to giving new life to classic tracks and making them perfect for today's dancefloors. Side A opens with 'Boogie On', a classic that never fails with its funky guitar and signature piano, followed by 'It's Dancing Time', a dark dance track full of tropical disco vibes. On the B-side we find 'Bring On The Music', a perfect example of a funky disco rework with great voices and melodies, and to close 'The Mass Fire', an authentic hurricane of funky rhodes, boogie horns and crazy rhythms that will make you dance until dawn.

Don't Stop Dancing (7:04)
Into The Stars (7:04)
Let The Music Take Control (6:41)
Into The Galaxy (6:39)
Review: Under the Delfonic alias, Markus Lindner has been responsible for some wild and inspired re-edits, many crafted with his pal Kapote and in some way touched by jazz-dance or jazz-funk. Here he flies solo, offering a sequel to his disco-centric 2020 edits EP on Columbian label Nomada. He hits the ground running with 'Don't Stop Dancing', a thickset, house-style revision of a soaring, heavily orchestrated disco classic, before dipping the tempo on a simply gorgeous rework of Marcos Valle's disco-era MPB delight 'Estrelar' ('Into The Stars'). Lindner returns to loopy disco-house pastures on the delay-laden late-night stomp of 'Let The Music Take Control', while 'Into The Galaxy' is a bouncy, piano heavy disco-funk delight.

Saturday Night Dance (6:34)
Delfo's Check (5:59)
All Is Africa (6:08)
I'm Away (6:41)
Review: Oye Records founder Markus "Delfonic" Lindner is a real crate digger, disco don and edit maestro. He has released on the likes of Razor N Tape and Toy Toye and now comes through with four more floor ready classics on the Nomada label. 'Saturday Night Dance' is exactly that - a nice loose number with an ass shaking rhythm section and plenty of colourful synths to get you up on your toes. There is also a slightly deeper, funk fuelled gem in the form of 'Delfo's Check' and then 'All Is Africa', a languid afro funk affair with an old school hip hop vocal over the top before the highlife vibes come to the fore on the summery and infectious 'I'm Away.'

The Flow (5:42)
SPF (4:59)
Music Is Love (8:02)
Review: On their latest 12", the Razor 'N' Tape crew has looked to Berlin, rather than Brooklyn, for inspiration. As the title suggests, the man at the controls this time round is Oye Records founder Markus "Delfonic" Lindner. He hits the ground running with "The Flow", a deliciously loved-up interpretation of one of the sweetest, baggiest and dewy-eyed disco-soul tunes around. While undeniably floor-friendly, there's no attempt made to beef up the track unnecessarily, with Lindner's addition percussion tending towards the subtle and reverential. Those hankering after something a little sweatier should check the disco-funk hustle of "SPF" (which comes complete with some seriously spacey synth solos) and Lindner's excellent rearrangement of a lesser-known cover of O'Jays classic "I Love Music".

Franck Roger - "Pinguino Blumo"
DJ Steef - "Warp Odyssey"
Review: Hot'N'Spicy's self-titled series of flame hot disco and funk gems returns with a sizzling sixth instalment here and it has some big names on board. Delfonic opens up with the low slung and seductive loopy disco-house fun of 'Everything Is Love' while HOLDTight up the funk and energy with more loose and percussive grooves on 'Disco Power.' Franck Roger brings his classy French house styling to a deep and slinky number in 'Pinguino Blumo' and DJ Steef shuts down with some big camp disco flourishes and dubbed-out vocal echoes on 'Warp Odyssey.'

Imparable Rejam (7:53)
I Like Music Rejam (6:45)
Review: Delfonic & Kapote makes a welcome return to their Illegal Jazz series. This is a seventh instalment and it's another bobby dazzler with four cuts all reworked for the dancefloor. Opening the party is 'Groove Head Rejam' with a low slung swagger, noodling guitar riffs and lovely glossy hi hats. 'Power Journey Rejam' is a deep one with chords to warm your heart and instrumental disco riffs to get you going before 'Imparable Rejam' brings a more steamy percussive vibe that is loose limbed and seductive. 'I Like Music Rejam' is a big party starter with horn stabs, lively vocals and wooden hits.

Review: Illegal Jazz Vol. 2 was a strictly limited edition drop that sold out in double quick time. Thankfully the Illegal Jazz label treats us to a second edition that is packed with just as much joyous disco, jazz and funk heat. All four of these joints from the 70ies are masterfully reworked by Delfonic & Kapote. The first cut is a bouncy one with big chords, the second has an irresistible samba shuffle, '
Maison Rejam' gets down and dirty and 'Garrett Rejam' layers up the silky house drums with warming Rhodes.

Wanna Dance? Rejam (7:01)
Yam Sallam Rejam (7:02)
Review: Berlin characters Delfonic & Kapote (who run the Toy Tonics and Kryptox labels) are behind the Illegal Jazz series, which his actually all about re-fixing disco tinged, funk licked sounds from the 1970s. They are all repackaged for modern dance floors, with hefty drums next to the wild expressive synth sounds and still futuristic electronics. 'India Rejam' is packed with playful sounds and off-beat funk, 'Wanna Dance? Rejam' is a retro-future rattler with the sound of spacecrafts taking off next to tight rhythm sections and 'Yam Sallam Rejam' is led by some huge sax lines that bring a steamy quality to the club.

Review: Toy Tonics head honcho Mathias ‚Kapote' Modica and former OYE Records main man Delfonic have linked together for more magical reworks here of rare old dance jazz tunes. The tracks that make it onto these EPs were originally designed for their own personal DJ use but get so heavily requested they did the right thing and got them out into the wider world on wax. This time out, four reworks of obscure Latin funk and disco soul get served up with lashings of jazzy overtones. You'll have a hard job working out the originals here unless you are a Jedi level digger, and that makes them all the more useful.

Review: ***B-STOCK: Record slightly warped but still plays well***

If warming, glassy-eyed midtempo disco niceness is your thing, we'd heartily recommend this languid, sun-drenched edits offering from the Too Slow To Disco camp. It's packed to the rafters with toasty, afternoon-ready fare that's arguably best listened to while decked out in boat shoes, pastel-coloured shorts and a stripy t-shirt. HOLDTight steps up first with the head-nodding, saucer-eyed shuffle of future yacht disco classic 'Be My Love 2Nite', before Delfonic offers up a fine rearrangement of an obscure, breathy and seductive disco gem full of prominent Moog synth sounds, jaunty pianos and whispered vocals. 'Jorge's Pipa' by Jack Tennis is a fine, floor-friendly tweak of a disco-era Brazilian gem, while Those Guys From Athens' '4 Your Love' is a seductive disco slow jam straight from the top shelf.

Admin - "Moon Trippin'" (6:28)
Rahaan - "Gonna Get Ya" (5:55)
Delfonic - "Let's Dance The Spank" (5:41)
Review: Funkyjaws Music launches a new edits series here with four absolute dons of the form on one vital 12". It's Lay Far that kicks off with 'Never Ever Edit' which is all horn-led excitement and upbeat disco claps and kicks before Admin's 'Moon Trippin' takes a more slow and soulful approach. When it comes to edits few are more essential than Chicago's Rahaan who kicks off the B-side with 'Gonna Get Ya', a leggy funk number infused with cosmic synth rays and warm piano chords. Delfonic shuts down with the loose percussive jumbles and jazzy vibes of 'Let's Dance The Spank'. A fine start to the series with volume two already in the works.
