Review: Esoteric is arguably best known as Wu-Tang man Inspectah Deck's rhyme partner in their band Czarface, and the pair have also made high profile hook ups with MF Doom. But before all that, Esoteric is said to have been trapped at home in Japan during a nuclear explosion after which he emerged from the sea of Tokyo Bay armed with some 70s and 80s Japanese classics. He has flipped them into a sound known as "Mecha Mecha" which is riddled with Eastern musical references and beats that range from jungle to boom-bap. It's an intensely visual album that really leaves an indelible mark.
