Review: Super Spicy Records continues its run with great releases, with this second instalment of the Super Spicy Recipe proving a great compilation with big names of the disco scene rubbing shoulders with some super talented newcomers. On A1, we have Boogietraxx and Monsieur Van Pratt teaming up for the fantastic 'Sigueme', that brings a Latin flavour to the table, followed on A2 by Mexican disco master Hotmood and Italian star Gledd combining their superpowers to bring the maximum jazz spice to the recipe via 'I've Got Jazz'. Review: Gledd brings a great mix of funk, disco, Afro and plenty of extra special magic to this hot new 12" on Saint Wax. It opens with 'Papa Bel' which is a steamy cut with florid melodic leads and tribal percussion. 'Tanda' then brings wailing vocals and more organic and jumbled grooves that ooze summer heat. The Afro rhythms continue through 'Rewild' which has a lively broken beat that rides stiff drums and last of all is the most intense of the lot - 'Guado Loop' is heavily layered with drums and perc, vocals, congas and background chants that will get any dance floor in a sweat.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: The Saint Wax Edit Service is back with another fine helping of disco goodness to keep those dance floors nourished this summer and beyond. 'Candela' opens up with a lung-busting and intoxicating vocal over organic drums while 'Chevere Africa' has a warm Afro feel to its upbeat and celebratory disco beats complete with big horns. 'Ledile' gets even more party starting with its jazzy lines and funky bass work and then things slow down on 'Mameye,' a more steamy and languid affair but still one with plenty of big horn charm. Review: Funk master Gledd has assembled a well made EP here that is chock full of house and disco goodness for the more playful and fun dance floor moments in a night. He kicks off with 'I Don't Know' which is a slinky and loopy jam with rugged bass and cosmic synths. Then there is a Latin tinged house gem in 'Amapola Sunrise' which comes with some wild sax energy and on the flip 'Muni (De Gama Re-Groove)' pairs it back to an international and afro tinged but still pumping disco-house groove. Last of all is the freewheeling and positively upbeat 'Japan Lips' with its trilling loops and swinging drums.

Review: The first release on freshly minted rework/re-edit label Saint Wax comes courtesy of Gledd, an Italian producer who has previously beefed-up old disco, jazz-funk and boogie cuts for the likes of Masterworks Music, About Disco and Midnight Riot. In keeping with his other releases, the four cuts here are all house-style re-edits, meaning he's combined elements of old tracks with bombastic new beats. It's not a particularly complex formula, but it is one that works really well - especially on stand-out 'I Hold You', which sees Gledd successfully tool-up a Clavinet-sporting gospel disco number. Also worth checking is the more loopy, disco-house style opener 'Behind a Cloud' and sax solo-laden disco-funk jam 'Sweet Love'.

Review: London's Tropical Disco are back with their eleventh edition of superb edits. All re-spliced and remixed with precision and above all - respectf! First up is label boss Tim Burnett aka Moodena who reuses a rather familiar hook on the funked-up brass section of "The Chase", followed by the lo-slung and sultry late night business of "Addicted To You" by Alex Satrorial on the A side.
