  2. Neutron Dance (Fango remix) (7:08)
  3. Neutron Dance (Mano Le Tough vocal mix) (6:55)
  4. Neutron Dance (Gerd Janson Birkenstock remix) (6:48)
Review: If you've danced at house-focused clubs and festivals this year, there's a strong chance that you've strut your stuff plenty of times to Krystal Klear's "Neutron Dance". The hooky, riff-heavy original version isn't included on this remix package, but happily the assembled reworks are all killers in their own right. We're particularly enjoying the squeezable synth bass, punchy machine drums and fluid piano solos that catch the ear on Paul Woolford's ace "Jolly Roger Version", not to mention the sweaty breakbeats, restless drum machine cowbells and thrusting New York freestyle bass underpinning Fango's fantastic take. Elsewhere, Gerd Janson straps on his "Birkies" and re-imagines the cut as a retro-futurist house treat while Mano Le Tough doffs a cap towards Italo-disco and throbbing big room house.

  1. Neutron Dance (6:39)
  2. Division Ave (4:24)
  3. Shockzoid (9:07)
  4. Moonshake Mine (6:04)
Review: In recent times, Krystal Klear's EPs have wholeheartedly paid tribute to a variety of (mostly New York-based) historic clubs, artists and dance music sub-genres. While he's officially broken the spell with The Division EP - his first outing on Running Back - for the most part it's still a heart-warming, retro-futurist treat. He kicks things off with the cheery, Italo-disco revivalism of "Neutron Dance", where throbbing synthesizer arpeggio lines and mid-80s melodies are underpinned by a bustling mid-tempo house groove, before slowing things down via the Balearic synth-pop shuffle of "Division Ave". Turn to the flipside and you'll find more muscular, freestyle-meets-acid house fun (wild and mind-altering peak-time highlight "Shockzoid") as well as the baggy, glassy-eyed Balearic house rush of closer "Moonshake Mike".

Euphoric Dreams (Kink remixes) (hand-stamped 12")

Techno
  1. Euphoric Dreams (KiNK remix) (6:00)
  2. Euphoric Dreams (KiNK Drums & Bass mix) (5:38)
Review: Released earlier this year to critical acclaim, Krystal Klear's "Euphoric Dreams" was a non-stop rush of neo-trance synthesizer refrains and melodic, life-affirming electronics. Here, Kink turns in his takes on the track, starting with a formidably filthy, bass-heavy take that flits between euphoric, synth-heavy sections and dark, stripped-back grooves. It's neo-trance, Jim, but not as we know it! The veteran producer's flipside "Drums & Bass Mix" removes the giddy and glassy-eyed synth parts, instead layering psychedelic acid lines atop thumping, trance-inducing beats and Belgian hardcore style "Hoover" bass. In other words, it's a properly intense techno throb-job.

  1. Entre Nous (6:47)
  2. Autobahn (6:53)
  3. I'll Be There When You Need Me (7:26)
  4. Gambino (5:34)
Review: Since first pitching up on Running Back a year or two back, Dec Lennon AKA Krystal Klear has delivered some of his strongest music to date, including a string of peak-time anthems ("Neutron Dance, "Euphoric Dreams" etc). His latest EP for Gerd Janson's label is similarly strong. Check first the trance-influenced, synth-laden throb of "Entre Nous", where big room piano riffs help raise the track to hands-in-the-air anthem status, before admiring the new beat and EBM influenced neo-trance workout "Autobahn". "I'll Be There When You Need Me" is one of Lennon's most saucer-eyed and loved-up tunes to date - all warm waves of synthesizer bliss and decidedly Balearic melodies - while "Gambino" is a cheery skip through 1980s NYC freestyle territory with added Mylo style riffs.

Disco/Reediciones
  1. Future Fantasy (6:28)
  2. One Night In P Bar (6:25)
  3. Dutch Gold (6:44)
  4. Genesis (6:04)
Review: Krystal Klear knows a thing or two about making big dance floor tracks, and now he proves that again with tunes inspired by Jim Henson's psychedelic and cinematic nightclub fantasy of the late 1960's. The results are further-retro disco dazzlers with piebald leads, crystalline pads and chattering claps that all fizz with energy. "Future Fantasy" is the brightest of the lot, while "One Night In P Bar" gets more dark and dirty. "Dutch Gold" is an all out disco-trance anthem to get hands in the air and "Genesis" brings you back down to earth with long legged disco grooves and shimmering arps.
