Electro
Sound Synthesis - "Magical Harmonies" (6:14)
Hermeth - "Berlin Sunrise" (5:26)
Caramel Chameleon - "Bordone Acid" (5:43)
Larionov - "Solar Wind" (5:43)
Review: An exciting four tracker from Eudaimonia Records here, presenting the simple task of exploring the outer reaches of the world we find ourselves in through the lens of acid. Both time-honoured and fresh-faced artists appear on this selectors' compilation and their tracks recall everything from the more space-agey, low-register corners of acid electro to the sunnier, arpier, R&S-style breaks.

Space Threat
Space Threat (limited 12")
Cat: CPU 01111010. Rel: 01 Feb 24

Electro
Space Threat (5:20)
Asteroid Attack (5:20)
Flying High (5:03)
Vimana Ride (5:03)
Review: Sheffield's peerless Central Processing Unit welcomes a new signing here in the form of Larinoov. The artists has previously shown great creative nous across releases that suggest he is well versed in classic electro and also loves a good melody. He has dropped them on Craigie Knowes and Rotterdam Electronix in the past and here kicks off with a soundtrack to a trip to the far flung corners of the multi-verse. 'Asteroid Attack' then adds some extra intensity to a similar framework and 'Flying High' then hits a sweet spot in between. 'Vimana Ride' closes with a gurgling bassline that will melt your mind and smart, snappy drum work.

5 Years Of Hilltown Disco EP

Cat: HIL 5YRS. Rel: 07 Mar 23

Electro
W1B0 - "HD5YA" (5:25)
Ole Mic Odd - "Welcome To ZZYZZX" (5:51)
Larionov & St Theodore - "Razor Edge" (5:44)
PRZ - "NOT NOW" (4:39)
Robyrt Hecht - "Driveby" (3:19)
Review: Hilltown Disco have been nurturing their own micro scene up in Dundee, bringing a punchy, gnarly strain of electro to the Scottish city and creating a strong community around it. Now that community comes out in force to celebrate five years of the label and club night, presenting a cast of underground operators singing from the same hymn sheet. Whatever stripe of electro you're into, you're sure to find something to sink your gnashers into here. Keep an extra attentive ear out for the opening track from W1BO, the sadly departed Wibo Lammerts, who the five-track release is dedicated to.

I Want To Believe EP
I Want To Believe EP (green vinyl 12" in die-cut sleeve)
Cat: SBOX 019. Rel: 17 Oct 23

Electro
Morning Lite (4:58)
Across The Sky (4:52)
Eternal Twilight (5:28)
Strange Lights (5:21)
Shadows (5:06)
Space & Time (4:52)
Review: Strap in for this rugged electro exploration from Russian producer Larionov who has written it after sacking the heavens and distilling what he's seen into six cuts alive with dazzling melody. They are as bright and shiny as any distant star in the darkest of nights right from the off - 'Morning Lite' opens up with a sense of longing for a better future then 'Across The Sky' has withering sci-fi motifs and a textured baseline powering along the drums. Elsewhere on this most intergalactic trip are the more punch and urgent drum patterns of 'Strange Lights' and the neck-snapping hits of 'Space & Time' which has a fantastically squelchy bassline.
