Review: Recorded and released in 1981, Logic System's debut album "Logic" has long been considered a proto-electro/leftfield synth-pop classic: a set of unbelievably far-sighted songs and instrumentals crafted by some-time YMO engineer and collaborator Hideki Matsutake. This must-have EP offers-up one of the album's standout moments, "Unit", a bubbly chunk of psychedelic synth-chug blessed with French spoken word vocals and all manner of sparkling electronic sounds. The peerless original mix comes backed with Italo-disco outfit Mito's outstanding 1983 cover version - a more sprightly and spacey interpretation - as well as a brand-new re-edit of even more druggy and intergalactic "Logic" album track "Clash". In a word: essential!
