Mad Dog

Review: Vinyl Fanatiks by name, meticulous preservationists by nature, the Bournemouth-based label return to their successful crowfunder from last year for another limited run. Artists involved are both local lads close to the founder and chief digger Brent; champion b-boy and a consistent force in the 90s DJ Junk and Dave Wallace and Shaun O'Hara's Mad Dog. The former goes back to a 1992 breakbeat assault that still hurtles at you like the future 28 years later while the latter, who've been mainstays on VF since it launched two years ago, get all cosmic and 3am. Already sold out on crowdfund on its first release, this one is likely to fly just as fast.

Review: Mad Dog, (aka the former Material Girl we all know and love), has her "Hung Up" transformed into a pounding two-track big room blisterer on this huge new white label release. Jesse Perez and Ariel G both contributing mixes here, with Perez taking things dark and dirty on his A-side mix for a real big room bomb a la Deep Dish. On the flip Ariel G adds a more uplifting, trancey element with some soaring synths and energetic synth washes. Excellent stuff that'll get the crowds dancing, very likeable remixes from these newcomers.
