Reflection
Review: If you're going to launch a label, it's always wise to start with a bang. That's exactly what newcomers Audio Visual have done here, recruiting Detroit veteran Terrence Dixon and Chez Damier cohort Michael Zucker (boss of Finale Recordings, no less) for a four-track trip into deep techno and intergalactic house. Dixon goes deep into the groove on the hissing, intoxicating deep techno roller "MTA", before delivering a touch more melody on the retro-futurist gem "Over The Top". Zucker, on the other hand, opts for a Jaydee-does-deep house feel to "Foundation (Part 1)", before setting off towards the heavens with the deliciously deep, smooth "Reflections".

Techno
Luke Hess - "Deliverer" (6:14)
Patrice Scott - "Future Funk" (7:25)
Basic Soul Unit - "Torn Satin" (6:53)
Michael Zucker - "YHWH" (6:15)
Review: Finale Sessions continues to fly the flag for the freshest variations on deep techno with a distinct Detroit flavour, and now the label is celebrating five years of operations with a split release that calls upon some label regulars to turn out the goods. Luke Hess is up first with the dynamic whipcrack dub techno pulse of "Deliverer", while Patrice Scott continues his fine run of form with the meditative "Future Funk". Basic Soul Unit meanwhile strikes the balance between experimentation and immersion with the sharp-angled yet soothing "Torn Satin", and then label boss Michael Zucker drops a punchy but poignant offering in the shape of "YHWH".

Deep House
Keith Worthy - "Untitled"
Miruga - "Searching"
Jose Rico - "Alright Someday Will Come"
Michael Zucker - "2nd Coming"
Review: You know you're in for a deep ride when it comes to the Aesthetic Audio camp, and one look at the list of artists involved in tells you this latest release will be no different. Label boss Keith Worthy kicks things off with a jam that keeps the energy levels up without sacrificing the dreamy ethos of the label, while Miruga opts for a blissful broken dub techno excursion. Jose Rico kicks off the flip with the slow and punchy orchestrations of "Alright Someday Will Come", and then Michael Zucker cooks up a mean disco groove around which plentiful amounts of wistful melody can drift.
