Review: It's been a while since we last heard from Le Loup, but now the French producer is back in action on Adult Only with this collaborative EP, where up and coming producer Monsieur Georget joins in on two tracks and the vibe is decidedly stripped down and unusual. "New Era" finds Le Loup going it alone, working up a playful, mellow strain of deep techno peppered with samples from Jim Henson's The Paperwork Explosion. Monsieur Georget lends a hand on "Elixir" and the result is a much more patient, spaced out track driven by a simple shuffling beat and occasional displaced bleeps, before the pair warm proceedings up with the more house-orientated "Dame De Couer", as fine a slice of slender house music as you're liable to hear all year.

Review: Monsieur Georget is the nom de plume of Parisian underground veteran Chris Carrier for his more minimal minded productions. Here he inaugurates new Spanish label Steppin' Motion with the Le Charme Du KO EP. The title track is exactly the kind of deep down and dirty microhouse you expect to hear aboard the Hoppetosse at an ungodly hour of the morning, followed by more lean, dissonant sounds over clipped rhythms as heard on 'Ligne 2' and the rolling and hypnotic broken beat of 'Cirklon Colonialisme' over on the flip.

Review: Chris Carrier is a true legend of the Parisian underground, with over two decades experience in the business. From his involvement in respected projects such as The Logic Box, Adult Only and Catwash, in addition to releases for top local labels such as Apollonia, Robsoul and Politics Of Dancing - he just keeps going. Here he dons the Monsieur Georget alias once again, which he devotes to the more minimal end of his groove production. We're treated to some proper underground goodies on his new one for Yoyaku sublabel Aku. From the tripped-out microhouse epic "Pantalone", through to the bass driven DJ tool "Pulcinella" and the funked-up loops of "Colombina" - this fine EP has you covered.

Review: Parisian legend Chris Carrier is back, donning the Monsieur Georget alias for his explorations in the tripper and more minimalist shades of house that he likes to pursue every now and again, just like he did earlier this year on the superb "L'Album" LP which is also highly recommended. It's more of the same great grooves on the Double Lune EP, the title track is deep, woozy and hypnotic much like Thomas Melchior's kind of vibe. The "Third Child Boomer mix" goes even deeper and more abstract; this one's perfect for messing with minds at the after hours. On the flip there's another remix by NYC's Kamran Sadeghi and this one's really uptempo and energetic, getting that rolling bass and complex rhythm arrangements happening reminiscent of Barac.

Review: Monsieur Georget is the alias of the infamous Parisian house legend and Adult Only boss Chris Carrier, where he carries out minimal and micro-house experiments that have seen the light of day on imprints like Ultrastretch. Hold Youth and of course Adult Only special. Starting out with the deep, dubby and crunchy "Conique Tribute" which sounds like something you'd hear Cabanne smash out at Concrete at 6 AM, he also serves up some dark reductionist grooves like "Tom Tom" and "Nuit Sans Filet" which you could imagine the likes of Sammy Dee or Rhadoo playing out in Berlin and Bucharest respectively. We also appreciate the more up-tempo numbers like "Jazz A Vue" which crosses over into deep house nicely in a way fellow Parisiens Seuil and Le Loup have been known to do, while closer "L'Dong" is the proper, straight-up kind of deep house that Carrier has been known to pedal intermittently over the years. Tip!

Review: While the parent label may have been a fixture on the French landscape since the late 90s, Adult Only Special is a more recent concern and the third instalment finds Monsieur Georget delivering his third release after a strong pair of appearances on Hold Youth and Ultrastretch. As you might guess, stripped down house music is the order of the day, with plenty of freaky samples and noises thrown in for good measure. "Georget Au Piquet" leads the charge with a dry beat laying out the groundwork upon which fine slithers of vocal sample can be laid, but it's "Viens Fifine" and "En Voiture Simone" where things really start to liven up with fractious grooves rubbing up against a dizzying and impeccably edited spread of bleeps and tones.

Review: Sammy Dee's Ultrastretch label is an infrequent concern, demonstrated by the fact their first release of 2014 is only the fifth release in four years. It also represents the Ultrastretch debut of Monsieur Georget, a gentleman of possibly Gallic persuasion whose passions apparently include "his bicycle, Vin Rouge and analogue hardware". Followers of Le Loup and Seuil's Hold Youth label will be familiar with Monsieur Georget's talents with analogue hardware, having surfaced on the label last year and his second release on Ultrastretch offers more of his brand of wonderfully elastic house music. A-side "Le Vicieu" is classically framed minimal house, all deep bass growls, expansive rhythms and a real sense of space, whilst "Colle de la Bonette" demonstrates le Monsieur is eminently capable of crafting something stranger and more psychedelically charged.
