Review: David Moufang's legacy of works is vast beyond compare, so it's not surprising in these reissue-rich times his work continues to enjoy a fresh outing. Of course that's equally down to the quality of what he's been making as Move D and otherwise since the early 90s, and there are some projects even getting a second independent reissue such as this rare gem from 1995, Solitaire. Originally released under that alias on Pete Namlook's seminal Fax +49 label, Solitaire also came out credited to Moufang himself in 2010, but now it's getting its first vinyl pressing courtesy of Mule Musiq in Japan. From the original long-form version of 'In/Out' to the wistful bubble bath wonderment of 'P.M.', it's quintessential 90s ambient techno made by one of the best to be doing it then and now.

Review: Given that he's a born collaborator, as his vast discography proves, it's perhaps fitting that David Moufang's latest album as Move D is packed to the rafters with killer collaborations. Check, for example, the ultra-deep, woozy and off-kilter "Innit", a superbly dubby and opaque studio hook-up with German rave pioneer D-Man, and the shuffling, intergalactic deep house warmth of Fred P collaboration "Building Bridges". Fittingly, his renowned collaborative projects also feature. There's a wonderfully elastic and out-there dub techno/minimalist track by Reagenz (Moufang and Jonah Sharp AKA Spacetime Continuum) with German veteran Thomas Fehlmann, and a Magic Mountain High (alongside Juju and Jordash) track that takes slow-burn, softly spoken deep house/dub techno fusion and runs with it. As you'd expect, the solo tracks are impeccable, too.

Review: ** REPRESS ALERT ** David 'Move D' Moufang's debut album, originally released in 1995, gets a much needed reissue here on Damiano von Erckert's ava imprint. Across the Kunststoff LP's dozen or so tracks, we can hear the zeitgeist of mid nineties electronics taking in obvious influences - mainly from Detroit and Sheffield but undeniably laying down the roots of what would soon become the signature of the Heidelberg producer's signature sound. From the blissed-out ambient house of "Soap Bubbles" (which would be further explored again a decade and a half later on Song From The Beehive with Benjamin Brunn), or "Amazing Discoveries" exploring the same sonic territory as the likes of John Beltran at the time. The bittersweet melancholia of "Tribute To Mr Fingers" which does exactly what it says on the tin, but its really about the many moments tripped-out deep electronica like the sublime "77 Sunset Strip" where the album really shines.

Review: Second time around for David "Move D" Moufang and Benjamin Brunn's first full-length collaboration, a set of unsurprisingly deep, minimalistic house, techno and ambient workouts that first appeared in record stores way back in 2006. It's one of those albums that's arguably best listened to while flat on your back in an intoxicated state, despite the presence of such hypnotic, early morning club workouts as "On The Magic Bus" and the dreamy and delightful "O". You see, the majority of the album's eight tracks are spaced-out in the extreme and all the more alluring for it, as Moufang and Brunn expertly showcase their ability to create impeccable slices of hushed, otherworldly electronic minimalism.

Review: Way back in 1994, David Moufang and Dirk Mantei made their debuts as Move D and D-Man via a now highly regarded collaborative EP. This surprise album brings to the fore material the pair recorded, but for whatever reason never released, back then and at different points in time since. Typically atmoshperic, far-sighted and alluring, the music on show frequently blurs the boundaries between Detroit-influenced techno and sci-fi-seeped deep house. Highlights are plentiful, from the alien-sounding late-night dancefloor psychedelia of 'Colon Ize' and the gently jazzy deep space house of 'Hokuzei', to the tactile, early Larry Heard and UK bleep-influenced excellence of 'Wired To The Mothership 2021' and the sunrise-ready shuffle of 'Luvbyrds'.
