Review: The Jus Groove It label is, of course, all about deep house music, and who better to help them in their quest than Djebali? The French producer is on exceptional form with the reduced but utterly seductive remix of Rhythm&Soul's "Andromeda's Dream", making dubbed out melodics and a mean bassline do all the work to deadly effect. Shintaro D gets reworked by Mr KS on the flip, and things get a little freakier with some errant synth wobbles and a minimal groove making for a distinctive, ear-snagging end result. It's definitely a record of two halves, and fortunately both halves are excellent.

Review: There's an embarrassment of contemporary house riches to be enjoyed on the second edition of Music Is Love's Lovebox series, with a sizable contingency from the UK stable of deep house troopers. There's soothing funky tones from Mr KS, nifty broken beat delights from Cassio Kohl and Tuccillo, and rough-shod party-starters from U Know The Drill and Jackson Ryland. The diversity across the four sides is pleasing to see, and there's no shortage of fresh ideas from the likes of Liam Geddes with his distinct shuffle on "Untitled" to Oli Furness' off-centre approach to rave tropes in house music.

Review: Parisian veteran Jef K has been immersed in deep, sensual house music since the 90s, and still he continues to turn out the gold whenever he graces a slab of wax. On this occasion he's drafted in regular collaborators Rhythm & Soul for two tracks that lay the funk samples down heavy and keep the grooves classy, while on the flipside of this release for On A Mission some alternative names get a look in. Mr Ks has a more jazzed out roll at work on "High Street", and Kub brings a notably mellow mood to "The Basement" to smoothly round off the EP.

Review: On his first outing for Music Is Love, French producer Mr KS invites us to Take A Trip through his Chicago house influences. There's a rolling warmth and Chez Damier-ish bounce to the lead cut, with spoken word vocals and a superb bassline riding a Swag style rhythm. "Groove On" treads a similar path, sounding like a contemporary tribute to early '90s Windy City deep house. Both tracks get the remix treatment, with Oli Furness providing a hypnotic, dub techno minded rework of "Take A Trip". Arguably even better is the Point G version of "Groove On", which turns the melodious original into a raw chunk of darkroom funk complete with subdued acid lines and clandestine chords.
