Review: The next airdrop from the good ship Constant Black is a various artists affair with four tracks from four artists guaranteed to find a home in your extended micro sesh. Pascal Benjamin takes the lead with "Falkhill", locking into a Romanian-flavoured minimal breaks formation that rolls in resplendent fashion with a particularly choice vocal lick from an undisclosed RnB track. Michael James and Benjamin Joseph nudge the pitch fader up and dial in the swing for the decidedly funky wiggler "The Island", and TIJN keeps things bumping but works in some sharper drum sounds for the tough but bouncy "Maybe". Nick Beringer finishes the record off with the chunky funk of "Nyx", calling to mind Mike Shannon amongst others.

Review: Nick Beringer is a man who can program and brilliantly tight and kinetic groove with his drum machines no matter the genre. This new 12" on Abartik finds him doing just that, firstly within a house framework on 'Transatlantic', a nice deep and silky cut with effortlessly cool vibes. 'Cash Call' is a more gritty minimal and tech fusion with bobbling bass and splashy hi hats, then 'Euro Gap' mixes up gurgling acid with neon chords and nice trippy designs that will work the afters. 'Rm90' keeps up that vibe with more deft designs and liquid electronic funk that waves its way deep into your brain.

The EP kicks off in style in the shape of 'Intercity': straddling a square 4/4 house rhythm with an 'Art of Trance' spirit - all brought together in contemporary style. Layers of subtly filtered melody pulsate their way throughout, rising and falling as minimal elements collide for maximal sonic impact.Switching to more familiar territory, 'Time Shift' reins things back a notch as tight 909 beats swing to well rounded bottom end, carrying the warm layers of evolving synths and chorded elements with precision effect. Ending on the introspective mood of 'Counterclockwise', Beringer displays an even defter touch, heralding the light fantastic as the spectre of night passes by.

Review: Last time we checked in on Berlin's Nick Behringer, he was running the Rubisco imprint as well as appearing on top labels such as Daydream, Mulen and NCSS. With his latest release on the ever reliable UK imprint Infuse, there's yet more proof that Behringer's career is on the ascent. Get ready for more swing-fuelled hypnotic groove business on the Blue Blood EP, featuring the late night bass driven bump of 'Concave', while the title track (on the flip) calls to mind the minimal funk of Cab Drivers or Mike Shannon's output in the mid noughties. Finally, go deep into the afterhours on the atmospheric and sensual mood music of 'Second Hand Emotion'.

Review: Nick Behringer has been quietly and competently been going about his business for a few years, somehow rather more under the radar than he deserves to be. From muscular garage tinged house to stripped back but funk laced techno, he is a master of making functional music that also has plenty of character. Here he goes for warehouse tackle laced with warped synths on opener "Practice" before serving up silky, woozy but heavyweight minimal on "Anima Silvae". "Take IX" finds him casting free into the cosmos, with trippy designs and eerie pads all making it a track as physical as it is cerebral.

Review: The ever-busy Nick Beringer makes his first appearance of 2020 with this sure shot on Constant Black, bringing just the kind of funking and bumping minimal tech house the label has staked its reputation on. "Epsilon" leads the charge with a snappy drum framework as a vessel for deep sonar blips and swooping pads, before the vibe switches for something markedly cheekier on the delightfully freaky "Noseblunt". "Turning Point (Club Mix)" keeps things tight and functional for the dance, taking Beringer's sound in a more overtly techno direction, while the subsequent "Deep Mix" of the track keeps the vibe similar but works a richer spread of synth shapes into the mix.

Review: Berliner Nick Beringer first appeared on our radar back in 2015 with the tremendous Passage EP on local imprint Kase Kool. Since then he's kept the quality momentum in effect, with his distinct brand of deep and dub-laden tech house appearing on top labels like Taverna Tracks, Organic Musik and his own Rubisco imprint. He's found a fitting home here, on the always impressive Berg Audio, and has him following up great efforts by Traumer, Moreon & Baffa and Dust Yard. The cavernous and glacial groove of "Here & There" is balanced out by the warmth of its driving low end plus entrancing chords and lush textures. Some remix action comes courtesy of Pavel Iudin (Quality Vibe/Poker Flat) whose percussive rework takes it deeper into the night and the ever reliable Julian Perez (Fathers & Sons Productions) shows us all how it's done once again on his introspective groove reduction.

Review: When it comes to crafting slick, polished late night deep house, few can top the work of Berlin-based Nick Beringer. Slope & Dip, his second EP on the Rubisco imprint he established earlier this year, contains three perfect examples. Opener "Caballerial" sets the tone, with Beringer encased a chunky, bass-heavy groove in spacey, echoing chords and warm, ricocheting electronics. "Do Not Bend" is a slightly tougher affair built around elastic analogue bass, tech-house style electronic pulses and jazzy drums, while "Project 2501" explores similar sonic territory to Soulfiction. In other words, it pops, hisses and crackles, contrasting a rubbery, boompty-influenced groove with warm and toasty deep house musicality.

For the first release on Rubisco, he's served up a trio of his own melodious, funk-fuelled deep house treats. A-side "Track 1" is particularly potent, with Beringer peppering a bumping, bass-heavy drum machine groove with liquid chords, swirling atmospherics, and jaunty synth stabs. Review: Kase Kool main man out of Berlin Nick Beringer returns, inaugurating new imprint KK. Starting out in style with the kickin' deep groove of "Brija", he then serves up a nice remix of it by Lopaski; his version takes the track down a nice micro-house route that will appeal to fans of Lowris or Spacetravel. On the flip, there's the rather dubby and hypnotic "DTC" with an emphasis on moody elements and a strong bassline while "Kruf" closes the EP out just nicely on this rolling and groovy tech house journey.

Review: Regarded as a rising talent on the contemporary house scene thanks to his contributions to labels such as Morris Audio, Deso and Midnight Love Club, German producer Nick Beringer is collared by Skylax for this weighty slab of wax. Afterhours Cuts Vol 1 is split six ways and each of the tracks demonstrate the Berliner's production prowess and studious reverence for the key elements that made the early 90's period of house music so classic. Expect crisp, adventurous drum programming, a healthy dose of vocal sampling and hook laden motifs mixed up with jazzy textures throughout - the final "Afterhours Cut" is reminiscent of Dani Plessow in his Raw Cuts pomp.

Review: Bringing a simmering and sultry brand of deep house to the table, Swink has everything you need to get the night greased up and grooving. Nick Beringer is in a bumping New Jersey mood on "Win My Heart", draping the drums in haunting tones and bluesy chords for an alluring end result. Manuel Regnet keeps things crisp and functional for his remix, stripping back to a more slimline beat and letting a more punchy bassline through to the foreground. Kid Mark is feeling a bit rougher with his pumping "One Night Stand", but still the pads and vocal licks keep things soulful. Review: Sukhumvit offshoot NCSS has scored something of a coup here, snapping up the first collaborative tracks from prolific tech-house veteran Nick Beringer (last seen on Burnski's high-flying Constant Black imprint) and rising star Sota (best known for his work on Ornate Music and Beringer's Rubisco label). A-side 'Deikh' is a bouncy delight, with the pair peppering a sturdy, rolling groove with bleeping electronics, tight organ riffs and sweat-soaked drum machine fills. Review: Hoary Ukraine has kept up a busy rate of release since first appearing in the world, and as was the case with their eighth EP in April, this ninth offering is a various artists affair that calls on some slick tech house talents. Nick Beringer's "AI" is tight and crisp, with an old school feel thanks to the neon baseline, the Sota really pumps the party with his effervescing, fist pumping "Zerosandones". Inspired chord and synth shots in the breakdown of JMX's "Gotta Be" create a cessation of pappy atmospheres that lift in excitability once the beat returns, while Duff Disco's "Come Home" settles the A-side with head nodding drums and pads that feel as soft and sweet as wispy fairy floss. The EP kicks off with ascendant Leeds based DJ Niko Maxen (Shadow Sanctuary/Fantastic Friends) who delivers the hypnotic boompty business of "Busheila", the always impressive Nick Beringer (Rubisco) delivering some sublime tech-house of the dubbier variety on "Unit Sphere" and fellow Berliner with the best alias ever Stevn.aint.leavn (Beste Modus) with the emotive swing-fuelled antics of "Pinter". On the flip, Sy gets back to the delay drenched Basic Channel/Deepchord influenced side of the things, on the rather entrancing "Cosmic Waves" which was our pick of the bunch - but be assured they're all fairly tight grooves on Aesthetic 001.

Mbius brings coy funk and spaced-out vibes on the sleek opener, then Nick Beringer brings his superb sound design and stripped back, bass driven house sound on 'Eos', which his another gem. 'Dimsumthing' is an abstract minimal roller with shuffling drum work to loosen those limbs and Jerome C closes out this most useful of records with 'Balance,' which is fluid electronic funk of the highest order. When tech house is as good as it is on this 12", there can be no complaints.
