  8. Fede Lng - "La Volpe" (4:58)
Review: According to La Chinerie themselves. after repping their dear home of France on the first volume, they are 'this time enlightening Italy's house scene through an eclectic V/A gathering eight tracks from eight talented macaronis.' Southern Italy represents in the form of Salerno's Giovanni Damico with the funky and dusty soul heaven of "No Al Maltrattamento Dei Samples" while Lecce's finest Marcello Napoletano delivers the goods as always on the gritty house shenanigans of "Insignami". Elsewhere, there's Restoration's Lucretio (via Berlin of course) delivering some muscular, hardware oriented grooves on "I Piu Piccoli" while the north of The Beautiful Country represents too, rest assured, in the from of Bologna's Bassa Clan with the bouncy and swinging NYC circa '94 vibe of "Notte Brava".

La Chance Aux Chansons (140 gram vinyl 12")

Deep House
  1. Matthieu Faubourg - "A Long Way"
  2. Drezb - "Chemical Distortion"
  3. Pascal Viscardi - "Digital Illusion"
  4. Midori - "Distance" (feat Victor Santoni)
Review: Hailing from France but now based in Tokyo, Jazzy Couscous is a label that explores all kinds of sounds pivoting around the axis of jazz and deep house, but keeping things wide open for variety and experimentation. Following releases from Brawther, Klodio and more besides, it's time for a hefty various artists release that shows off a whole heap of talent. Matthieu Faubourg keeps thing pumping and Detroit-flavoured on "A Long Way", while Drezb smooths things out to a Chez Damier-influenced deep house groove. Pascal Viscardi gets things properly jacking on the deep-diving "Digital Illusion", and then the record closes out with the blissful ambient excursion of Midori featuring Victor Santoni's "Distance".

  2. Pascal Viscardi - "Marabout" (Sortilege edit) (7:04)
  3. Nephase - "Hills" (5:55)
  4. G2S - "Fallin' Down" (6:11)
Review: Rennes-based Dance Around 88 has mainly been a vehicle for label head honcho Baptiste Leterte's productions as Ringard but has branched out in recent times to entail the efforts of other artists such as Laroze and Merrick. This 12" compilation features even more promising new talent on the label starting with Signal ST and their track "No Fire No Glory" this is classic deep techno calling to mind the early sounds of Octave One or Psyance. Pascal Visardi gives us "Marabout (Sortiledge edit") which is the kind of tough NYC house grooves indebted to Kerri Chandler: we're really liking this one! On the flip there's "Hills" by Nephase: an excursion through filtered and funky disco house that only the French have a knack for, let's face it! Finally "Fallin' Down" by G2S continues on with the disco vibes on this loopy and functional tool for DJ use only!

  4. Change Your Future (6:11)
Review: Born 31 years ago in Geneva (CH), Pascal brings his gritty mellow tones and extra shuffled patterns to the Traxx Underground familly. Strongly routed into jazzy vinyl samples, black speaches and spatial atmosphers, the 3 tracks composing « Wise Man's Decision EP » take inspiration from the past to showcase a true vision of what Slow-Deep-House should be in 2015. At last but not least, the great Fred P came to make his hands dirty, delivering a true reshape of "Wise Man's Decision", offring us a tunnel from where it aint easy to escape.

How To Cover Up A Clear Blue Sky (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: LVNO 06. Rel: 01 Aug 16
Deep House
  1. Where Pathways Meet
  2. Oshakusan
  3. Free at Dawn (The Ecstasy of Roland Mixx)
  4. And I Showed the Clouds (How to Cover Up a Clear Blue Sky)
Review: The first place the world heard the lead track from this new Love Notes from Brooklyn release, "Where Pathways Meet", was on Deep House legend Mike Huckaby's My Life with the Wave show volume 2. Pascal Viscardi was one of many great artists to take Huckaby's warm tones and turn them into a work of art. "Pathways..." wriggles with deep funk and soul, and is paired with 3 other likeminded tracks for this very well-rounded EP. "Oshakusan" is the dancefloor track, juxtaposing warm chords and an insistent sax sample over the a tough bassline and rhythm combination that's aimed staight at the floor. "Free at Dawn" is the fathoms deep effort, going miles below the surface in a emotional expression of soul, and "And I Showed the Clouds (How to Cover Up a Clear Blue Sky)" provides a perfect outtro, and end to the statement made, making this EP feel truly complete.

  2. Das Carma - "Virtual Reality"
  3. Matpat - "Work Dis"
  4. Dub Striker - "Spicy Sugah"
  5. Fonso - "20 Days"
Review: Press Release: 124Recordings are back with release number eleven the 'Twin Suns' EP,representing the new generation of producers.First up is an exciting collaboration between Pascal Viscardi and Hugo LX.Both names are well known and respected individually from releases on Courtesy of Balance,MLIU,Frole and Traxx Underground, and this is the first time they have released a track together.Twin Suns is a homage to when house tracks were made straight to tape, with a killer juno bassline and raw beats.Next are two young producers from Germany.Das Carma's 'Vitual Reality' doesnt hold back with a thunderous kick, rumbling bass and gritty stab.Philladelphia's Matpat closes the first side with 'Work Dis'.With its clever use of a DJ Deeon sample, its a raw stripped down 808 groove. The second side opens with Parisian duo Dub Striker, which glides along with warm embracing chords, soft pads underpinned by a bumping bassline, before Fonso closes the release with the hypnotic '28 Days'.
