Attack The Dancefloor Volume Fifteen
Cat: ZEDD 12286. Rel: 11 Dec 19

Disco/Reediciones
The O'Jays - "Put Our Heads Together" (Joey Negro Re-Organised Master mix) (8:39)
Doug Willis - "Dancin' 2020" (Joey Negro extended Rebuild) (7:47)
Sunkids - "Rescue Me" (feat Chance - Joey Negro's In Full Swing mix) (7:36)
Double Exposure - "Everyman" (Joey Negro's Salsoul Strut) (7:18)
Review: The latest volume in Z Records' essential "Attack The Dancefloor" 12" series draws together some killer recent rubs by Dave Lee AKA Joey Negro. He first delivers a "Re-Organised Master Mix" of the O'Jays' 80s electrofunk sing-along "Put Our Heads Together", wisely emphasizing the vocals and killer synthesizer motifs, before offering up an "extended rebuild" of his classic Doug Willis cut "Dancin' 2020" that smothers a soaring disco track with spacey synth solos and jaunty pianos. Side B sports an organ-heavy "In Full Swing" remix of Sunkids and Chance's U.S garage classic "Rescue Me", as well a scene-stealing rework of Double Exposure's Salsoul classic "Everyman". While the whole EP is impressive, the latter is particularly inspired.

Rise Up (9:48)
Rise Up (Reworked) (9:04)
Review: On their latest must-check reissue, Groovin' Recordings take us back to 1998 and a killer chunk of what would then have been called 'US garage' produced by Deep Swing duo Eric Wikman and James Donaldson under their alternative Sunkids alias. The fact that it was 'executive produced' by Tony Humphries should tell you what to expect: gospel-influenced soulful full to bursting with bumpin' beats, rubbery bass guitar, righteous beats and powerful, life-affirming lead vocals courtesy of Chance. The flip side 'Reworked' version is a more stomping, high-energy affair informed by the popularity of filter-heavy funky house and disco-house. It's good, but it's the hands-in-the-air A-side that's the real killer.

Rise Up (Grant Nelson Bigroom mix - Special Vendetta dub)
Rise Up (Thomas Gold remix)
Review: The elegant house classic arrives with remixes that are 100% dancefloor orientated. The A-side includes an excellent remix by Grant Nelson and a Vendetta special edit.

Rise Up (Grant Nelson's Big Room remix)
Rise Up (Thomas Gold remix)
Review: Extremely upfront & limited promo's leading up to a massive release on Data. This gospel classic gets two quality remixes, one from Grant Nelson & the other from Thomas Gold. Grant delivers a mix in a similar vein to his huge mix of Solu Music's 'Fade' that is no doubt huge. Thomas really works the bassline to deliver a classy funky house mix.
