Review: Belgian bass HQ DUPLOC continue striding into a decade of business with this update of their 140 Allstars collection. This powerful second volume takes off where the inaugural instalment left us, it's another snapshot into the future of dubstep as it celebrates the new generation of innovative production talent keeping the 140 vibe alive into the 2020s. Flavours range from smouldering trad dub (Sedan's heavyweight 'Tecc') to contemporary, subversive springy bubblers (Distinct Motive's bell-ringing 'Champ') and all things between.

Review: Sheesh! And the award for the swampiest, most mutated and wooziest 140 jam of recent times goes to Sibla & Teffa's "Bobby". Presented here on the a; proper sleazy, rolling, oily cosmic dub funk - with some fantastic vocal stamps from the master - it's quite remarkable for the pair's first ever collaboration. As is 'I Wonder Why' on the B. Taking a slightly more traditional dub route, here they dig deep into the roots and really get involved in the sounds and elements, gradually easing us deeper and deeper into the blend before we realise we're cap-deep in a pretty heady psychedelic stew... And we have no plans to swim to shore. Limited to 300, this won't hang around.

Review: Ernestas Ov?aruk is Teffa, a dubsteps artist from Leeds who knows how to lay down some deadly bottom ends. He takes care of the small but well formed Low End Music label's third release here with great elan. The low frequency oscillations of 'Attention' will loosen the bowels of anyone. 'Hills & Bumps' is just that, a series of undulations where you ride the bass and kicks into a meditative state. 'Solnce' is more naughty, with wub-wub bass, ice-cold hits and a real sense of menace. The predatory 'Crooks' closes out with snaking bass and a real sense of purpose.

Review: Foundation Audio continues to fly the flag for the deepest end of the dubstep spectrum with more bowel evacuating sounds, this time from Teffa. He draws on a rich history of sound system culture to really test your bass bins and lay down some killer low end wobbles. "Advance" (feat Moss) is an eerie opener with devastating bass and only the most subtle of synth details to keep you locked in place. "Bubbles" is another standout with its playful bassline sure to get big reactions, then "Ostrov" is a slow motion stepper with computer game melodies and real futurism.
