  4. The Owl - "Funky Feelin" (4:12)
  5. ED Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Slippin" (4:22)
Review: More good value goodness from the Editorial label, one of the few re-edit focused outfits that manage to retain a high level of consistency. The Funk District kicks things off with a fine re-arrangement of an organ and electric piano-focused chunk of sweaty dancefloor soul ("An Evening With El Diablo"), before Matt Hughes gets busy with some elastic slap bass on flash-fried disco-funk revision "Get Down". Elsewhere, Label regulars Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee dip the tempo on the slow and seductive "Slippin", the Owl stomps his way through the P-funk style heaviness of "Funky Feelin" and Cody Currie offers up a hazy sample-house cut rich in jazzy flourishes and warm electric piano chords.

  3. C Da Afro - "Groove Definitio" (6:24)
  4. Alexny - "Take You Ther" (6:41)
Review: Russian label Moiss Music have spent the past couple of years building up a formidable catalogue of crucial disco house drops on digital, and now they're making their first move on wax with this slab of veritable party heaters. First up The Funk District bring the perfect blend of warm, organic funk and punchy club production for maximum impact. Munky Fike is brimming with positivity on "Oh Disco Baby", while C Da Afro rides the filters good and proper for the effervescent "Groove Definito". Alexny takes things deeper on "Take You Ther", but there's still plenty of space for classic disco licks in the mix.

  3. The Funk District - "Watcha Gonna Do"
  4. Paul Older - "Love"
Review: Super Spicy Records it's the first Mexican label in the Disco bizz to put out release on vinyl! Label boss, Monsieur Van Pratt, opens the ball with "Forever Funk". Percussions and funky rhodes lead the way into this funky romper. Sexy sax stabs and some lean horn
section trimmings.Igor Gonya and Crack D, two veritable Russian masters of Funk combine super powers and merge seamlessly to maximize the potential Funk output with "Two-Piece Orchestra".The Funk District follows with a boogie belter called "Watcha Gonna Do", that will cast you under its spell in a jiffy. Fast paced and rhythmically pound for pound, it grabs you in a gentle leading grip! Paul Older sports his flirting abilities with "Love". With caressing late- seventies vocals he takes the last dance. Equal measures of Love and Disco/Funk serves as main ingredients in this amorous conclusion to Super Spicy's first vinyl venture

  1. Moplen - "Ain't No Dub About It" (10:24)
  2. SoulBrigada - "Gonna Do" (5:55)
  3. The Funk District - "Anywhere You Like" (6:20)
  4. DJ Rocca - "Da Lion Groove" (6:52)
Review: It would be fair to say that this second part of the third instalment in Samosa's "Funk Purpose" series includes re-edits and sneaky remixes by some of the biggest hitters in the re-edit and nu-disco scenes. GAMM and Glitterbox regular Moplen leads the charge and in the process delivers a suitably sweaty, percussive and breathless peak-time disco-funk workout called "Ain't No Dub About It". Italian veteran DJ Rocca also impresses with another disco-funk rework, "Da Lion Groove", which successfully rearranges a heavyweight, horn-sporting affair previously re-edited by the Unabombers way back in the early 2000s. Elsewhere, SoulBrigada's "Gonna Do" is a relaxed and loved-up mid-tempo tweak of a saucer-eyed disco number, while the Funk District's "Anywhere You Like" is a tooled-up house revision of a punchy Blaxploitation-era number.

  2. Hustle Up (6:39)
  3. Imaki Ra Reo (7:39)
  4. The Root Of Evil (6:50)
Review: Bottoms up! The Silver Rider and the Funk District saddle up for a two-way trip on the latest Whiskey Disco joint. Texan transdimensional traveller Silver Rider steps up for the A with a main course and a punchy side plate. "Woman" is a big War-style disco funk piece with precision spoken vocals and horns while "Hustle Up" is a stripped back wriggling bassline DJ tool guaranteed to disarm. Flip for the B to a trip into the heart of Mexico as the Funk District fires heated shots: "Imaki Ra Reo" is straight up Latin disco while "The Root Of Evil" takes us on an African International adventure for a stunning afrobeat finale.
