Farm To Tables EP
Cat: LD 08. Rel: 31 Oct 18
Disco/Reediciones
  1. All I Do (6:45)
  2. Mystic Notions (5:59)
  3. Dengue Baby (5:13)
  4. Love Will Guide Our Hearts (6:21)
Review: For the latest hot-to-trot missive on his fast-rising Lovedancing imprint, main man Sleazy McQueen has turned to native New Yorker Silver Rider, a producer who has been a part of the nu-disco scene for longer than any of us can remember. He begins with the rolling disco-house sweetness of "All I Do", where glassy-eyed female vocals and twinkling melody lines rise above a bustling beat. "Mystic Notions" sees him successfully smother a broken house beat in tasty electric piano solos and swirling chords, while "Dengue Baby" is a tidy, slightly beefed-up revision of a flute-sporting Afro-funk gem. Finally, "Love Will Guide Our Hearts" provides a suitably shuffling and glassy-eyed end to a fine set of floor-friendly reworks.

Editor's Kutz #8
Editor's Kutz #8 (heavyweight blue vinyl 12")
Cat: EDITORSKUTZ 008. Rel: 14 Jul 16
Disco/Reediciones
  1. The Silver Rider - "Tell Me" (6:16)
  2. Marsupials - "Just Like Heaven" (5:48)
  3. Stereo 12" - "Da Flow" (6:58)
  4. Napoleon - "Luv Passage" (5:55)
Review: VinylAddicted's Editor's Kutz off-shoot continues with four more chugging sun-dappled disco gems. The Silver Rider takes the lead with a massive overhaul of Odyssey's "Don't Tell Me Tell Her" with a whole new set of chunky percussive drums while Marsupials follow with a lush string-based joint that's disco to its rotten sinful core. Flip to find a loopy, filtered twist on Ashford & Simpson as Stereo 12 takes us deep into sexy, slinky pastures with "Da Flow". Finally Napoleon closes the show on a deeper hypnotic flex with the hazy, string-munching "Luv Passage".

Fake News EP
Cat: WD 65. Rel: 22 May 19
Disco/Reediciones
  1. Woman (6:53)
  2. Hustle Up (6:39)
  3. Imaki Ra Reo (7:39)
  4. The Root Of Evil (6:50)
Review: Bottoms up! The Silver Rider and the Funk District saddle up for a two-way trip on the latest Whiskey Disco joint. Texan transdimensional traveller Silver Rider steps up for the A with a main course and a punchy side plate. "Woman" is a big War-style disco funk piece with precision spoken vocals and horns while "Hustle Up" is a stripped back wriggling bassline DJ tool guaranteed to disarm. Flip for the B to a trip into the heart of Mexico as the Funk District fires heated shots: "Imaki Ra Reo" is straight up Latin disco while "The Root Of Evil" takes us on an African International adventure for a stunning afrobeat finale.

Editor's Kutz #6
  1. Vinyladdicted & Sleazy McQueen - "Free (From Social Narcotics)" (5:49)
  2. Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee - "Stellar Dub" (5:11)
  3. The Silver Rider - "Good Luvin' Baby" (7:19)
  4. Doc Jam - "In Your Eyes" (5:28)
Review: There's usually plenty of A-grade material to be found in the Editor's Kutz EPs, and this sixth volume in the popular re-edit series is no different. Chief amongst these is The Silver Rider's "Good Lovin' Baby", a chunky disco-funk roller - slightly straightened out for contemporary dancefloors - that boasts a terrific, string-drenched breakdown. There's also something deliciously glassy-eyed about Doc Jam's "In Your Eyes", a tasty, house style loop-jam that expertly cuts up a familiar disco classic. Elsewhere, Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee provide a dubby take on Marcos Valle's Brazilian boogie classic "Estrelar" ("Stellar Dub"), and Vinyladdicted joins forces with Sleazy McQueen for a trip into groovy, AOR disco territory.
