Review: Jack's House is back with another wedge of crucial cuts from a spread of big hitters, kicking off with Alex Arnout and the tightly wound roller "Hypersomnia." Tuccillo is in a heads down mood on "Another Day," letting the drums and the bassline do the brunt of the work. Terry Francis favours a heavy, smoky sound palette that has a bassline that will do some serious damage on a decent system - "Jua" is easily the strongest track on the record. Killan Vega closes the record with a smart deep house jam peppered with crafty sound design elements that lift the track beyond the average chord-led workout.

Review: 20/20 Vision and Crazy P continue their long and fruitful relationship with a fourth volume of carefully curated and super-fresh new cuts as part of this fine ongoing series. Scandi-disco don Ray Man opens up with typically lush cosmic melodies and loose-limed nu-disco beats with more than a hint of funk. Tigerbalm then heads into a tropical oasis with 'Cosmic Union' (feat Joy Tyson) which has Afro rhythms and steamy vocals bringing the heat. Ruf Dug shows his multi-genre chops again with 'Vape Quarter Rhythm' which is part proto-house cut and part dreamy Italo bliss out with rave whistles and hands-in-the-air chords. Ibiza's Tuccillo closes out with one of his signature Balearic gems in 'Siroco', which is as breezy and carefree as cocktails by the sea at sundown.

Review: Ten years deep, Visionquest continues to be a potent force in field of minimal tech house thanks to releases like these. The latest split release from their VQ X series opens up with the spellbinding, micro dub meditation 'The Serpent & The Jaguar' from Deadbeat before swerving into the equally tender folds of Triptease & Yonatan Levi's 'Amniotic Jive'. Tuccillo opens up the B-side with some crisp, immersive broken beat rhythmic incantations, and then Wareika round the record off with a smouldering piece of hi-tech jazz from the outer rim. This is subtle, elegant minimal at its warmest, make no mistake.

Review: Since it first hit record stores in January 2018, the fourth part of Bondage's ongoing "Bondage Games" series of multi-artist EPs has become a sought after item. Happily, the label has decided to reissue it, this time on purple marbled vinyl. As with the initial pressing, Sascha Dive kicks things off with the locked-in late night tech-house hypnotism of "Bounce To That (Movement Mix)", before Tuccillo wraps foreboding riffs, weirdo electronics and dubbed-out sounds around a wonky, bass-heavy house groove. NTFO's "Bottom To Top" is a warmer take on the tech-house sound informed by dreamy deep house, while James Dexter's closing cut is notable for its hazy early morning fusion of watery chords, rubbery synth-bass and crunchy drums.

Review: There's an embarrassment of contemporary house riches to be enjoyed on the second edition of Music Is Love's Lovebox series, with a sizable contingency from the UK stable of deep house troopers. There's soothing funky tones from Mr KS, nifty broken beat delights from Cassio Kohl and Tuccillo, and rough-shod party-starters from U Know The Drill and Jackson Ryland. The diversity across the four sides is pleasing to see, and there's no shortage of fresh ideas from the likes of Liam Geddes with his distinct shuffle on "Untitled" to Oli Furness' off-centre approach to rave tropes in house music.

Review: Here's a record that screams The White Isle at you! Ibizan imprint Isgud call on two producers synonymous with the island in the shape of Willie Graff and Tucillo for their latest release. The duo has plenty of form - collaborating on releases for the likes of Drumpoet Community, Freerange and Circus - and "To The Music" makes you pine for the terrace as soon as that tribal programming locks in. The focus is on the percussion here, with only the bassline and a titular vocal refrain washing around the mix for company. On the flip Jus Ed's mate DJ QU comes through with a radical rework that strips the track of its tribal leanings for a bugged out techno funk feel that truly impresses. In such company the more straight up jacking flex from Isgud boss Tatu seems somewhat lacking.

Review: If you're into all things soulful and Balearic, nothing will please you more than these beautiful blissful beats from Willie Graff & Tuccillio. Give You Up is timeless house music through and through - a guitar and drums intro slowly gets over shadowed by the filtered chorus which takes it's time to fully to reveal the breezy "I just can't give you up" line. Dub is one of the most overused words in dance music.
The word is usually used to mean an instrumental mix with perhaps the odd delayed vocal thrown in. But the rich history of dub has it's roots as far back as the 1960s when Jamaican pioneer King Tubby started to create stripped down versions of songs using just the 'Riddim' tracks with heavy use of echo and reverb effects units. Since then dub has had an impact and influence on every worthwhile form of dance music including House Music.
The Lost in Time series continues the story with its' own dub pilgrimage for the third release on the imprint. Heavy research into the techniques and methods first employed at Tubby's by co-creator Ralph Lawson led to a series of live dub sessions at Unblock Studios, home of Italian producer Tuccillo with Carl Finlow on additional keys. Recorded in live takes with all hands on deck using vintage analog gear and effects units the trio took inspiration from Dub Techno pioneers Basic Channel and the sublime Round series created by Maurizio and Chez Damier to attempt to produce new cutting edge electronic music in a dub style.
Three cuts all squarely levelled towards discerning underground dance floors continue the journey for dub as it finds an outlet in house and techno landscapes...

Review: There seems to be no shortage of high grade Ralph Lawson fodder emerging at present, from archive reissues to fresh material, and this release almost straddles both as Lawson links up once more with original mid 90s sparring partner Carl Finlow, although this time Tuccillo is also on board to represent the new school. The three tracks are steeped in finely balanced form for heads down grooving, keeping things simple on "Kings" with a hooky bassline loop and some understated drums while "Lost In Space" gets a little trippier with a dubby chord or two. "Throb" seems to follow on from its predecessor in a dub version with a more progressive tint and less of the melodics.

Review: It's a good time for fans of 2020 Vision boss Ralph Lawson as his production career enjoys a resurgence thanks in no small part to the high calibre of producers he has linked up with over the years. Chez Damier too has enjoyed some reissue love lately, and their partnership yielded plenty of fruits, including this impeccably crafted tech house burner "The Moment", all submerged chords and urgent rhythmic thrust. "Attraction" with Tuccillo is a lighter affair, dropping some catchy arpeggios and friendly chord stabs into a snappy deep house number, while "Lost In Time" finds Carl Finlow lending a hand for a sultry blend of brooding bass and ambient haze.

Review: Leeds tech house Heroes Audiojack celebrate five years of their own Gruuv imprint with another EP commemorating the occasion. We're up to volume four now and the pursuit of slinky sure-fire tech house continues. Tuccillo's "Afratrack" is sultry and druggy after-hours vibes reminiscent of Robert Dietz while "On The Record" by Audiojack and Kevin Knapp is the kind of rolling peak time tech house that will be tearing up Ibiza this Summer. On the flip we have "Big Black Car" by Paul C and Paolo Martini which equally reeks of the island with its sleazy, truly funky, big room vibes.

Review: The Holic Trax five year anniversary celebrations continue with this essential grip of tracks from Satoshi Tomiie and Tuccillo. "Do It" leads the charge with a focused slice of tech house that rides its addictive hook incessantly, albeit with plenty of playful tones darting around the mix for added decoration. "What Row" is a more crafty cut with a finely chiselled bassline and some nagging hats to die for, and then "To Ray" finishes the EP off with a much rawer approach. Here the drum machines spit at the front of the mix and the synth parts wobble with a live flavour that really stands out on this 12".

Review: Although he's made plenty of appearances on Visionquest, an imprint renowned for the tech-tinged nature of its output, Guiseppe Tuccillo's house productions have always embraced dancefloor nostalgia and in particular dancefloor sounds from the late 80s and 90s. He's in that made on this surprise EP for Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory imprint. Both 'The Waves' and 'Apple Eyes' are warming, thickset and hypnotic affairs that doff a cap to Chandler's trademark brand of timeless New York deep house, while 'Breaking Leds' also incorporates raw, rave-igniting stabs, breakbeats and deep sub bass for a more UK-circa-1990 feel. Closing cut 'Apple Eyes', meanwhile, is a more shuffling and loose-limbed take on some of Chandler's premier late-night dancefloor dubs.

Review: Giuseppe Tuccillo is back at it with more of his lithe grooves, offering up some of the sprightliest gear you're likely to hear from the box-jam end of the minimal house spectrum. This time he's stepping out on Melodeum, sounding as on point as ever from the brooding b-line antics of 'Limbo' to the playful organ flex and clipped acid of 'Rainy Day'. There's a light dusting of breaks on 'Too Close' and some more angular funk at work on 'Instant', but crucially the Italian producer binds everything together with a smooth finish which speaks to his deep-running roots in the scene.

Review: It's certainly not easy keeping up with Tuccillo. The relentlessly productive producer has been constantly firing off dancefloor bombs on labels as respected as Visionquest, One, Holic Trax and 8bit for years, but never before has he turned his hand to an album. Finally, he's decided to do the right thing and give us a deeper insight into his sound, and he's doing it on his own Unblock label. Fans will get everything they crave on A Part Of 20, as Tuccillo indulges his dancefloor sound and keeps the quality level as high as ever. There are some choice guest turns from vocalists on "Tonight", "Feeling Hot" and "Again", but throughout the album Tuccillo's commitment to the stripped down, emotive house groove remains constant.

Review: Tomoki Tamura's Holic Trax label has been nurturing Tuccillo among its many regular artists over the years, and now the Italian wonderkid returns with another distinctive run of jams from the wild side of deep house. There's a psychedelic quality to the rich textures that vibrate throughout "G-Capsule", while "Pierrot" keeps things lean and limber with some minimal percussion and a cheeky bassline that will work wonders in the mix. "Playhead" takes old skool New York house into a modernist mindset, and then "Los Amigos" finishes off in a more sensual celebration of unconventional house music.

Review: Unblock label boss Tuccillo strikes again with another solid release with the EP Black Talk. This is the 5th release on this respected vinyl only imprint that has previously showcased talent such as Tomoki Tamura and Djebali but this time, comes from Tuccillo himself with his unmistakable signature sound.
Headlining track "Black Talk" has a great rolling baseline with plenty of swing with some subtle vocal snippets thrown in here and there.
"Ride on" has a tougher edge with some old school flavours driven by a rhythmic snare with lots of energy perfect for the height of club DJ set
Shopwork offers a more percussive sound over an infectious warm chunky groove, again with some cool short reggae influenced vocal snippets.
A timeless release that can stay in the box.

Review: Funky minimal tech house in the vein of the classic Freak 'N Chic sound. First track "People Around" is testament to this, a funky swing fuelled jam with a good dose of trippiness that despite its somewhat retro tendencies will still mix in quite well with current tech house. "Bayou" is much deeper with some real bounce in the bassline and those hypnotic vocals work well: better for the after-hours. On the flip we've got "In The Mood" which gets back to serious funkiness, great bassline and really nails the early Hot Creations sound. Finally there's "Melo Melo Garden" which is the real standout on here: some smooth minimal deep house in the vein of Minibar or Eklo.

Review: Long-serving hero of Italian house music Giuseppe Tuccillo makes a return to 20:20 Vision for another bout of flamboyant, colourful house music offset with studio sensitivity and a deft understanding of how high-grade house music should work. "For You" works into a stripped down but ultimately funky groove that screams New Jersey, except the content outside of the drums comes in dream-like dots and dashes of samples and melodies, and even the drums themselves twitch and shake playfully. "Optimum" takes a more laconic approach, although not horizontal by any means, before "Green" perks the atmosphere back up with a peppy groove and sunny synths that exude positivity in tone and arrangement.
