Review: Venetian club and label Caposile are back in action with their fifth release of sleek and sophisticated minimal tech house following on from their excellent two-part The Sound Of Garden compilation series. This time around they're presenting the joint efforts of Maggio and Vitess, who pour considerable flair into their particular strain of 4/4 dancefloor delights. There's a strong melodic, synth-rich thread running through all these tracks, at times teetering towards the trance tech-house movement but retaining a little more house-spirited funk with some redolent disco influences on top. With a variety of keys to suit any emotional needs your set may have, this is another sure shot from one of the prime labels operating out of Venice.

Review: After something like a two-year wait since the last release, French house music connoisseur Increase the Groove Records finally make a welcome return with a third 12" to get the heads in a spin. It is Vitess behind this one with remixes from Doublure, Palorim and Jake Scully. The style here is seductive house music made with authentic machines and given just enough spit and polish to reflect light and soul but never sound overdone. Some pump, some roller deeper, all of them are fine additions to your racks.

Review: Vitess continues to be a shining light on the French tech house scene. The producer has already dropped top tunes on the likes of Phonogramme this year and now follows that up with another fine four tacker on Retrofutura. 'Celebrity' opens up with some snappy drum work and forlorn chords that make for a nice zoned out groove, then 'Calcio' gets more poppy and playful in its neat synth melodies and jaunty tech beats/ perfect for some summer action once the days warm up again, then the B-side offers 'Talk Box' for more twisted moments and the sleek cosmic melodies and innocent pads of 'ACDC.'

Review: It's brave to call your label, and your new series, 'Tools,' but in the case of French label Chat Noir there is more than enough style to the tunes to elevate them above mere fodder. This various artist collection kicks off with Occibel's 'Opale' which is bathed in balmy pads with tight, clipped tech-funk drum work. Vitess then offers the heavy and heady synth panning of 'AB Road' which is a twitchy cosmic cut that operates at high speed and Sunaas slows things down to a funky downbeat workout on 'Off World.' There is 90s tech from Noiro and space breaks on Jo'Z's 'Analyzing' on the flip.
