The Sound (4:03)
Aquatic Justice (2:43)
Cetacaen Nation (3:10)
Decoding The Maps (6:38)
Sunken Treasure (3:17)
Review: As you can probably work out form the title, Wavejumpers is an electro project that is related to the work of James Stinson and Gerald Donald's Drexciya outfit. It features former Aquanauts man Tyree Stinson and plenty of aqueous synth lines and watery motifs that take you deep into an oceanic world. Accompanying text says "Oaths were made, plans and maps drawn up. The Spawn has escaped. Wavejumpers spotted off the coast of Scotland. Can you decode The Sound that lurks in the fog?" which adds to the mystery, while the beats themselves are as good as electro gets.

Genetically Modified (5:18)
Review: As we have made clear many, many times before, Drexciyan electro really isn't dead. Our best case in point yet comes in the form of this stellar EP from Sound Synthesis, whose music gets at the slightly more emotive edges of interplanetary electro, 808 rattles, and sinister vocoder space. Sci-fi themes abound on this neat little EP, which restrains itself from its sense of emotion just as neatly as it teases, while 'Deep Space Scanner' and 'Generatically Modified' truly show off an out-of-this-world aptitude at vocoder play.

Battle Of The Planets
Review: Marking over 16 years as an artist, Robert James unveils his debut album Battle of The Planets. A milestone in any musician's career, the LP illustrates the breadth of Rob's tastes and influences, exploring the rugged terrain of planet electronica. Ranging from breaks and electro to house and techno, Battle of The Planets was made during lockdown, a period of creativity and isolation for many artists around the world. Across 10 skillfully produced cuts Rob takes us on an intrepid adventure into the cosmos, where mysterious atmospheres and uplifting melodies sit side by side with captivating dance floor rhythms. Many shades of his personality come through on this album, all tied together by his unique sonic identity; informed by his years spent on the dance floor, behind the decks and in the studio. On Battle of The Planets Robert James presents a distillation of his extensive knowledge and experience into one succinct, highly engaging body of work.

Destroit (6:25)
Distance (6:23)
Review: Finnish twosome Morphology has released some incredible records over the years - mostly of the intergalactic electro time - but we'd wager few are as sonically sparkling, life-affirming or pleasingly melodious as their latest two-tracker. 'Destroit', the A-side cut, is simply sublime: a far-sighted, futuristic fusion of crunchy, Chicago-influenced machine drums - all snappy snares, tough kicks and fizzing cymbals arranged into a delicious post-electro rhythm - intergalactic chords and bright, breezy electronic melodies that tap into the sci-fi sounds of purist Motor City techno. The duo opts for a warmer and woozier, acid-flecked sound on flipside 'Distance', a classic-sounding chunk of deep ambient techno tailor-made for late nights and early mornings.

Managed Devices (4:52)
Misaligned Logic (5:41)
Plains Of Neptune (5:54)
Telepathic Unity (6:43)
Review: Paul Hammock has been prolific over the past couple of years as his brand of lush, heady electro catches the ears of every label worth mentioning. Furthur Electronix, Unknown To The Unknown, Lunar Disko, 20:20 Vision - there aren't many of the key electro labels of the day who haven't carried his work recently, and now Craigie Knowes are doing the right thing and offering up another four pristine jams from the studio. There's mellow melancholy hovering in each of these tracks, but never at the expense of the crisp 808-esque machine funk. Mixing danceability with emotional heft, Hammock proves he can do no wrong when he dons his Cignol cap and gets busy with his gear.

Relpek - "False Prophets" (5:09)
Ollie Drummond - "Spider Ink" (7:42)
Bronxy & ETRE - "Thibo" (8:14)
Hydra Machine - "Inverted" (5:48)
Review: Alien Imprints is back with their second release which includes some well-respected artists along with rising talents showcasing their skills.

False prophets - Relpek A.K.A. Kepler is a DJ/producer who hails from the North of England. His offering is a crisp electro track that generates a calculated bass, analogue stabs and phrases with sweeping synths.
Spider Ink - Ollie Drummond, a respected DJ from London gives us a proper tech house number solid 4:4 beats, crafted basslines and pad effects that follow with acid riffs.

Thibo - Bronxy and ETRE from the Ukraine collaborate on this deep house affair, with soulful grooves, smooth deep bassline and "spacey vibe" pads create a cool hypnotic flow.

Inverted - Hydra Machine's music is influenced by 1980's electro. Deep 808 inspired beats meets an "Electro Funk" bassline, 80's style pads and acid bleeps combine together perfectly.

Review: Jensen Interceptor and DeFeKT bring an emotive techno and electro EP to Tresor, channeling their styles as tools in the processing of trauma and loss. "Tresor355 - Free Your Mind - is dedicated to everyone dealing with illness... loss... to everyone who finds strength in the sound", goes its accompanying text. The music is hard-hitting, sharp and rejuvenating, with bits like 'Alpha Klub' standing out in particular for their knife-edge energy cutting though negative thought states. Power on.

Stop & Stall (6:41)
First In Motion (4:50)
Specialized In Anything (6:38)
Lowest Perceived Legitimacy (7:04)
Review: French electro innovator DynArec is on a rampant run at the moment, with new releases popping up nigh-on everywhere right now. It makes sense to see him link up with Cultivated Electronics, one of the most on-point electro labels in action right now. 'Stop & Stall' opens proceedings with a limber and lithe romp through pinging, shuddering leads and hard as nails drum thumps. 'First In Motion' has a 4/4 strut which aligns it more with Italo, although the synths are far from retro endeavours. 'Specialized In Anything' is a sinewy workout which nods to the early 00s electroclash era and 'Lowest Perceived Legitimacy' slips into something sleeker, making for a varied and highly effective dispatch of machine funk from a singular voice.

Decoding Numberz (4:09)
Lightz (5:03)
Techno Phobia (3:55)
La' Machine (3:52)
Review: Start in for this visceral electro trip from Detroit's Jessbeats which is said to be "powered by Aux88." It is a rugged machine workout from the off, with soot-back bass and a gritty, late night biker club attitude that echos the work of greats like DJ Stingray. 'Decoding Numberz' is sleazy and ghetto in all the right ways, 'Lightz' has haunting synths and a coruscated bassline that shines through the mire and 'Techno Phobia' is an all out boom-bap assault that leaves you breathless. 'La' Machine' is a more minimal number with vocoder vocals that bring a sense of late night freakiness.

Captain Mustache - "Hang The DJ" (feat Dynarec) (4:56)
Review: It's time for another bout of no-nonsense acid madness courtesy of the Acid Avengers label. This time around they're offering a split release between DynArec and Captain Mustache, and it kicks off in strident fashion as DynArec lays down a classy big room banger entitled 'Rebelmodel'. It's still shot through with the degree of weirdness you'd expect from the French electro maverick, and it sets things up nicely for the straight-up 303 tickler 'Ports Of Innocence'. 'Rave Silencieuse' finds Captain Mustache delivering a powerful, dystopian kind of machine funk driven by some frankly monstrous synth lines and a sharp line in composition which packs a cinematic, emotional punch. On 'Hang The DJ' DynArec comes back on board to back up Mustache for a limber, vocoder-embellished rave-wrecker.

Review: Tusken Raiders is of course Michael Paradinas, the man behind Planet Mu as well as many of his own killer productions. Famously, this alias had to be put to sleep after George Lucas's lawyers found out about it after one of his releases on Clear back in the day, so he renamed himself Rude Ass Tinker - an anagram the original alias. But now it is back out of retirement for this collection on Further Electronix of all the recent EPs he has released. The tracks are built on brilliantly squelchy electro funk, cosmic techno, brain dance melodies abound and the whole thing comes from a world controlled by AI and robots, but never loses sight of the dancefloor.

Review: Brokntoys 50th release sees the return of Weimar-based producer XY0815. Showcasing his wide sonic repertoire on Gates Need Inputs, this first volume of two, he showcases his unique take on electronica and downtempo. While less dancefloor oriented than previous releases, it is however more upbeat than previous material. There's cybernetic beats aplenty ('Pauline'), imaginary sci-fi soundtracks like on the title track, smack electro ('All The Stars') and martian battle breaks ('Buttons Are Friends'). Mastered by Alden Tyrell.

Review: The Rogue Filter label sure has a rogue profile. It claims to have been on the scene for over 30 years, but this is only the fourth release from the label. What's more, it has been three years since their last. Anyway, the fourth transmission is a banging one. 'Everything Can Become One' kicks off with blistered bass and squealing synths then 'Sinister Acts' is a bouncy analogue workout with reverberating bass to rattle walls. 'Sonic Countermeasures' gets more brutal, like intergalactic warfare, and closer 'Wife For Life' s a sleazy and ghetto fried cut for the bass lovers.

Review: Gravers kicks off with a strong various artists release that sets out is electro stall in fine fashion. Kovyazin D opens up with the rugged and hard hitting electro-techno of 'Modularity' (feat Alexandr) with its stomping drums and frazzled synths. There is plenty of gothic energy to the slapping machismo of the acid laced'Proven Witch Psalm' from Antoni Maiovvi, then Millimetric offers up 'Espace' with a spiralling synth line and more caustic drums. Anton Levdikov closes down with 'Vardi' and a dark, driving bassline. This is a high impact EP for those who like it tough.

Review: Barcelona's SIKU collective are once again armed and at the ready to serve up an electrifying four blasts of pure bangerized electro and breakstep. For this second installment of their 'Siku Series', you can be rest assured each track found on it is certified fresh - all call to mind one word, and one word only: slamming. Our faves centre on the first and last; Nulek's 'Realidad Sur' and Kento's 'Factor D' occupy pole positions on the spectrum from amped-up to twinkly. Perfect for both solo and group raves.

Review: It has somehow been over a decade since Galaxian put out their last album. We Are Power finds them head in an all new direction as they ruminate on "the confrontation and power clash between humankind, nature, the spiritual and mechanistic industrial growth societies." Monologues make that explicit in places, while the Glaswegian's productions are generally a little softer than in the past. There are ambient beauties amongst more kinetic electro kickers and caustic techno cuts that fire every synapse in your body. It's an expansive work and we are very much glad they are back.

We get a bit of all of that more on this new selection of remixes of Andonicus's 'Make You Whole' tune. Dusky go first with a feel good and euphoric sound that is old school in mood but new school in execution. Coco Bryce then deploys some of his masterful jungle breaks for a high energy trip and after a remaster of the big and bouncy original version comes a Smokin Jo dub that is pure fire.
