Trust Is Key (5:40)
Observe (4:50)
Midnight In Peckham (7:02)
Luxury Motivation (5:51)
Review: Chaos In The CBD have quietly been building an impressive reputation for some time, with releases on Hot Haus, Amadeus and Needwant all hitting the spot. Here they transfer to Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section International with what's arguably their most mature and musically expansive EP to date. There's a decidedly dusty, eyes-closed deep house feel throughout, with hypnotic grooves laden with all manner of neat, often jazz inspired touches. This is perhaps most obvious on the St Germain style jazz-house goodness of "Observe" - all skipping cymbals, bouncy grooves and killer pianos - but can also be found on the deeper "Observe". It's there, too, on the lilting brilliance of "Midnight In Peckham" - think yearning trumpets and twinkling piano motifs - and the blissful "Luxury Motivation".

Baseline 87 (6:43)
Muzik For The Dance Floor (6:21)
Review: Mike Huckaby's Baseline '87 has become something of an in-demand record since the initial 10" release sold out back in 2011. It's not hard to see why. A-side "Baseline 87'", in particular, is one of Huckaby's most potent records - a tough, sweaty chunk of retro-futurist house built around the kind of bassline that's three parts "Energy Flash", and two parts "LFO". There's more of a straightforward Detroit deep house-meets-Motor City techno vibe to flipside "Music For The Dancefloor". It's well produced, subtly dreamy and altogether rather good. It pales into insignificance when compared to the A-side, but then "Baseline" is a bona fide banger.

Good Morning Pecknaam (4:10)
Review: 2015 is fast turning into Henry Wu's year. Having already delivered killer 12s of baked deep house/instrumental hip-hop fusion for Ho-Tep and Odd Socks, he now pops up on Rhythm Section International with another brilliant EP. While as deep and blazed as previous excursions, there's a sun-bright freshness to the pleasingly varied selections on offer. Contrast, for example, the deep space, boogie-house slickness of "Yellow Brick", the bruk revivalism of "Neezy (Wok)" - think I.G Culture after a few too many bongs) - and the brilliant deep house/jazz-funk fusion of "Dubplate Special". Arguably best of all, though, is the Latin jazz-goes-deep house warmth of "Croydon Depot". Everyone will have a different personal favourite, though; it's that kind of EP.

Lost Coordinates (2:05)
A Thousand Questions (6:30)
Burnin' (5:51)
You Were The Only (5:04)
Review: Yanneck "Quarion" Salvo has been relatively quiet of late, with his last 12" dropping midway through 2014. This, then, is a welcome return. The four cuts gently pull in subtly different directions, with the blissfully spacey synth melodies and long builds of "Lost Coordinates" being followed by the bass-heavy, deep house basement funk of "A Thousand Questions". Flip for the relentless organ stabs, shaker-heavy grooves, twisted synth lines and bumpin' bassline of "Burnin", and the fantastically broken P-funk workout that is "You Were The Only". If you enjoyed 2000 Black's "Make It Hard" on Rush Hour, you'll love "You Were The Only".

Closed Paradise & Journey Reverse - "Moelleuz" (7:24)
Review: Following recent impressive outings on Above Machine and, surprisingly, Whiskey Disco, Mathieu Cle once again dons the Closed Paradise guise, this time for Kolour Ltd. Opener "Planets" sets the tone, delivering a warm and dreamy blend of fluttering chords, stretched-out build-ups and rolling grooves. Brame and Hamo deliver a sunnier, more obviously soulful take on the same track - complete with what sound like a few live instrumental flourishes - before Cle drops the locked-in, bass-heavy chug of "Tunnels". Finally, he joins forces with Journey Reverse on "Moelleuz", a loose, soulful and woozy jam that benefits greatly from an ultra-dreamy breakdown and some choice vocal samples.

Review: Joseph Caserta, or simply known as Caserta, is an Italian house producer whose funky touch has stood out as of late. After a series of disconnected EP's over the last three years, Caserta is back and this time he's on Shadeleaf, a young imprint dealing in soulful house and moody dubs. "Ricky" receives four mixes: there's the "deep mix", a chord-driven, vocal-led charger; the "jeep mix" is slow, funky and boogied-out; Kon remixes the track into an uplifting floor-filler; Thatmanmonkz reappears on the label with the final remix, a straight-ahead tool-jacker with the original's sultry vocals.

Review: What a 12"! Given their stature, International Feel could probably pull in a DJ Harvey or a Theo Parrish to remix cuts from the Jose Padilla LP (maybe they will ooh!) but they've indulged their more esoteric urges here. Chicago house originator Ben Cenac comes through with a truly rare Dream 2 Science remix, turning "Lollipop" into a brisk, star gazing production rich in the musicality that characterised his (now) cult 1990 album. Complementing this are two fine remixes from Versatile's genius I:Cube with his marauding Balearic rave remix a real pearler of a production! International Feel include Padilla's OG version too!

Last Night Lover (6:43)
Come On Ya (6:08)
Taxi (5:20)
Taxi (Francis Inferno Orchestra Dreaming Of A Wonthaggi version) (6:08)
Review: FINA Records presents Terrence Pearce's 'Last Night Lover EP' featuring the return of Francis Inferno Orchestra on the rework.

Having previously released on a number of prominent labels including Futureboogie, Wolf Music, Petfood, Kolor, Dark Energy and Freshmeat, Cape Town based DJ/Producer Terrence Pearce has emerged as a talented and sought after artist and is the latest quality edition to FINA Records' roster. Here 'Last Night Lover EP' offers up a healthy dose of the forward thinking house productions for which Terrence has become renowned; a 3 tracker that demonstrates his impeccable sonic style and production prowess.

The title track sets the tone from the off. The long and drawn out spacey synths transfix whilst the fading in and out of the subdued strings, offset against the low end warble and the foregrounded off beat percussion, give this classy understated cut a deliciously smooth and timeless quality.

'Come On Yah' meanwhile is a warm and effortless disco edged groove, characterized by its infectious low-end throb and clever concoction of playful rhythms, punchy hats, staccato strings and off kilter chords.

Then, out of nowhere 'Taxi' arrives; a wonderfully leftfield amalgamation of horn beeping, door slamming, taxi hollering madness, aggressive techno stabs and a relentless belter of a bass line which drives the contagious rhythm to an unexpected frenetic funk filled break.

Last up and hot off the back of his widely acclaimed debut album 'A New Way of Living', Melbourne's Francis Inferno Orchestra returns to FINA, this time on 'Taxi' remixing duties. After a masterful dose of his signature drum machine rhythms, early rave like samples and rainforest atmospherics FIO softens the original into near obscurity.

Sunday Transit (dub version) (4:55)
Review: Detroit house hero Kai Alce inaugurates People Of Earth with a stellar EP showcasing his knack for the most soulful of modern, Motor City deep house. First up "Quiet Revenge" has that classic Three Chairs kind of vibe; all soulful deepness that this circle and their extended cast of peers have the knack for, complete with smooth Rhodes piano and dusty rhythms. On the flip "Sunday Transit" is a more straight up deep house jam with female vocals shouting out the lowdown loud and clear; wicked groove on this one. The dub version of this surpasses the vocal for those less keen, but why would you! Great start for a label with serious potential.

Review: Since first pricking our collective consciousness back in 2011, Adam Ratana, Preslav Lefterov and Thomas Cox's Pittsborugh Track Authority project has gone from strength to strength. Following a wealth of releases on Further Records, Argot, Rotating Souls and their own Pittsburgh Tracks imprint, they've been snapped up by Jimpster's Freerange Records. This label debut features a trio of tasty treats. Opener "Your Situation" is a breezy delight, with classic sounding synthesized strings and bubbling electronic riffs smothering a snappy groove. "RT28" is a deeper and groovier, Jus-Ed influenced affair that features some brilliantly spacey synth solos, while "Gold Trim" is a surprisingly live-sounding fusion of loose, organic drums, cascading flute solos and smooth boogie bass.

This time they're doing their thing for Thomas Von Party's Multi Culti out of Montreal and it's not bad at all! "Waiting For A Surprise" is cheeky indie house with some catchy vocals and a fine groove guaranteed to pack a dancefloor. "The Metal Bender" is on a more cruisy and atmospheric vibe, sounding like something on Kompakt and perfect for the after-hours. Review: When it comes to producing deep, sophisticated, musically rich deep house, few are quite as capable as Kai Alce. Even so, there's still something extra-special about "Take A Chance", a thoroughly deep, soulful and lilting excursion full of rolling, African-influenced percussion, eyes-closed trumpet solos and warm, evocative vocals. Alce's hero Larry Heard provides the remixes, firstly under his given name (a typically deep, soulful and dreamy interpretation) and secondly as Mr Fingers. It's these "Ambient Acid" versions - built around restless, lopped electronics and the original's sublime trumpet - that really stand out. Brilliant from start to finish.

This Loves The Same (6:23)

I Gave You My (5:28)
Night Prescription (7:35)
Review: After a series of mesmerising (and massive) EPs under his more disco orientated YSE Saint Laur'ant moniker - Pressed for Time label head Ant Plate is back in his deep house mode with an EP of YSE goodness

No messing about with the opener 'This Loves the Same' - YSE goes straight in there with some dancefloor heat that has enough quirk to counteract the house swing.

'9 8 2 8' is all badboy garridge wonk with some excellent detuned chords and a catchy, nagging vocal refrain - SWAG.

On the flip, 'I gave you my' is proper deep house (as in it's actually deep) with some trademark YSE chords, blissed out vocal samples and great drum programming.

'Night Prescription' rounds things off with a homage to the classic US house sound. Think Chuggles 'I remember dance' but with an East midlands twist.

No idea what the EP title means, we think Ant's keyboard is faulty

Review: In case you were in any doubt about his identity, Hungarian producer Gnork - previously of Legendary Sound Research affiliated outfit Black L3GO - has handily titled his Black Vension debut I Am Gnork. His particular brand of deep house is attractive and atmospheric, but with enough low-end grunt and machine-made roughness to appease peaktime dancefloors. The four tracks here explore subtly different but similar themes, from the bittersweet chords, Detroit electronics and spacey grooves of "Well It Was Just A Tree", to the outer space 303 business of "Acid Quartet" and "Fckk". Opener "Stringxxx233344" offers the best of both worlds, fusing sharper electronics with some typically swirling deep house niceness.

Review: There was something rather fitting about Seven Davis Jr appearing on Classic last year. Here, the two thrillingly eccentric, low-slung, Prince-influenced boompty house cuts that made up that 12" get the remix treatment. Detroit Swindle handle the A-side, turning "Friends" into the kind of acid-laced, Derrick Carter-influenced, bumpin' house monster that would once have appeared on Classic offshoot Music For Freaks. On the flip, Dubliner Krystal Klear continues his journey into the world of clap-happy, peak-time house, with a version of "Beautiful" whose power is derived from a colossal sub-bass line, fizzing synthensizer flourishes and some kicking drum machine percussion.

Here, he pops up on Local Talk, providing more lushly produced deep house gems for discerning DJs. Opener "Wash My Soul" impresses from the off, with bold synth riffs and sparkling electronics building in intensity over a chunky groove. The saucer-eyed "The Light" is a touch deeper but no less immersive, with mangled vocal samples rubbing shoulders with swirling pads and twinkling pianos. The man has put out two EP's and an album for the label, the latter being Red Souvenirs and apparently up for grabs on the old remix front at present. Corner dweller Dorisburg (Northern Electronics, Bossmusik) rewires "Endori" and comes away with an eerie house nugget filled with glitchy sonics and moody keys; SAM Downtown jacks up "Your Wardrobe" into a deep and spacey Chicago number; Smallville's Christopher Rau goes for the minimalistic touch on "Anyway", a lo-fi house cut for the warm up hours.

Review: There's a delicious simplicity to the concept behind Rawax's Aira series, which involves much-lauded producers creating new tracks entirely using Roland's retro-futurist equipment series of the same name. Given Ron Trent's association with the machines the series was inspired by - TR-909, TB-303 etc. - he was clearly an obvious choice to get involved. As usual, he's conjured up some classically melodious, evocative and emotion-rich material. "Deep In The Stars" sees him in late '80s/early '90s deep house mode, with twittering melodies and ocean-deep pads wrapping themselves around a decidedly tactile groove. "Rock The Box" is typically expansive, with robotic vocals and a whisper of electro amongst the sweeping chords and intricate synthesizer motifs.

Review: Much credit should be given to deep house veteran Franck Roger, who continues to hit the heights fourteen years after making his debut. The Drift is the Frenchman's latest workout on the Home Invasion label he launched in 2013, and neatly touches on a variety of styles. There's a sweaty, bumpin', late night feel about opener "The Drift", which sits somewhere between Inner City era warehouse fare, the energetic darkness of Sound Factory era Vasquez, and Roger's own hazy deep house. "Why" is an altogether dustier, tracky affair, but retains the retro-futurist feel of the more forthright A-side, while "Bankal" sounds like a cross between vintage Chez Damier and Roger's frequently explored aquatic deep house sound.

Review: For the latest slice of magic on the evermore impressive Fina White, The Organ Grinder, aka
Cayne Ramos, continues with a prolific run of releases which has planted his expansive productions straight in the bags of discerning club commanders like Move D, Brawther, and
Laurent Garnier. Showcasing a broad, tasteful musical pallet, studied studio skills, and a sharp ear in the mix, The Daily Struggles EP is a fine arrangement of house and techno that will find itself at home on the uncompromising warehouse floors, the sun-drenched courtyards, and in the darker, seedier moments of the night, when only the strong remain, and the weak have long since departed.

Wasting no time, the Organ Grinder leads the line with Living in a Bottle, a classic house number on an MCDE tip, laced with infectious vocal samples, muffled Rhodesian keys and groovy, beddeddown bass lines, conducted by a tight back line of crisp, snappy, dusty drum parts.

On the flip side The Organ Grinder moves from the barbecue to the main room with some Berghain sized techno on B1. Taurus is for those who love those big, pulsating kicks, clattering hi hats and deep, penetrating bass notes that work so well in Spartan warehouses at 3am.

Moving the clock along to 7am and relocating to the beach on B2 with Too Digi The Organ Grinder brings the Daily Struggles EP to a head with perhaps the strongest track of the release - a proper cut of deep, tripped out Herbert-esque grooves and vintage keys revolving around an infectious, warped disco vocal. The sort of stuff jocks like Move D and Zip deploy to such devastating effect in the after hours.

Those familiar with the German producer's work will know exactly what to expect, namely delicious disco house cut-ups that turn selected loops from largely forgotten gems into insatiable dancefloor gold. A-side "Bass Affairs" is particularly good, delivering a perfect blend of sun-kissed Brazilian guitars, rubbery slap bass loops and lilting Rhodes chords (all accompanied, of course, by thunderous kick drums). There's a brilliantly dense and humid feel to the undulating bass, cowbell-heavy beats and jaunty melodies of opener "Summer Games", which is as sticky, sweaty and life-affirming as the title suggests. Review: Given the brilliance of the first Rhythms of the Pacific EP, slipped out some 12 months ago by Vancouver store and party crew-turned record label Pacific Rhythm, hopes are naturally high for this belated follow-up.
