Track 1 (8:15)
Track 2 (7:51)
Track 3 (10:09)
Review: Botanic Minds is a vinyl-only record label that deals in heady tech house and minimal and has since 2017. The sounds are often lush and ethereal for those sun up or sun down moments that send shivers downtime spine. That continues once more on this new one from an apparently unknown artist. Track 1' pairs nice supple and silky synth modulations with flappy drums that come up from below as spoken words add dreamy details. 'Track 2' is a little darker and more wonky in its linear grooves and finally 'Track 3' has fleshy bass and bumping drums with spangled metallic synths and DIY percussion.

How Deep Can You Creep? (4:46)
How Deep Can You Sleep? (6:33)
How Deep Can You Bleep? (7:01)
Review: Split across three tracks, Nev's 'Deep Beep', originally released in 1991, posits 3 important existential questions. These questions come to us in sonic, not just track-titular form. The NY producer weaves techy, yet not overthought, acid funk with breaksy bloop and 8-bar breakstyle on 'How Deep Can You Creep?', while the question of 'How Deep Can You Sleep?' becomes irrelevant when we're woken violently by scything hats and dreamy keys. The question of 'How Deep Can You Bleep?' is the most fundamental quandary of them all; the jankier the bleep bloops, the better, as evidenced by this one's breakdown.

Politics Of Dancing X Djoko (6:30)
Politics Of Dancing X Lowris (7:43)
Review: Politics Of Dancing Records is an ever expanding and ever evolving and ever excellent label that has recently grown to include the P.O.D Cross sublabel. This next vital two tracker is a split with Politics of Dancing the artist on both sides, with a different producer on each. It is Djoko with whom he links first for a spaced out tech cut that spins you out into the cosmos on warm pads and metallic drums. On the flip is the more rubbery and bass driven dubbed out and deep offering from Politics Of Dancing x Lowris. Both sides bang.

Sen Or Pescador (6:29)
Travel Miles (Paradise Lost mix) (8:12)
Review: From Aus Music to Disfigured Dubz, Hypercolour to Butter Side Up, Youandewan has remained a steadfast figure in the UK house scene thanks to his inventive touch and crisp approach to production. After launching the Pure Shores label in 2020, he's finally returned to the imprint with South African producer Mculo in tow, and between them the pair offer up an immersive trip into trancey house which should easily slide its way into many a record bag. From the uptempo, tricksy tones of 'Sen Or Pescador' to the saucer-eyed 'Travel Miles (Paradise Lost Mix)', Youandewan and Mculo have everything you need to get the crowd loosened up a treat.

Trigger (6:56)
Go (6:05)
Move (6:40)
Review: When he's not dishing out breaks-y garage and slick retro-future electro, Burnski still finds time to exercise his decades deep prowess in the art of tech house. On this new drop for Constant Sound he's clearly having a lot of fun sculpting a hefty, big room sound with Ibiza in its sights. 'Trigger' hinges around an epic breakdown-build up which goes off like a rocket when it drops, swinging with glee and leaning in on playful synth licks. 'Go' is an absolute monster too, which nods to Burnski's recent UKG explorations with some rough bass and a killer 4x4 groove. If you want to do some damage in the dance in the classiest of ways, look no further.

Review: There is a load of Jay Tripwire newness around at the moment and some of it is from his back catalogue and some of it is all new. Here the longtime minimal mainstay and Canadian scene-pioneer serves up a multi-volume collection of cult tracks of his from the early 2000s. They have a west coast tech house sound and are still future in design. The likes of Villalbos have long been banging these and they sit well with the days current underground sound. Acid, dub, tech, electronic soul and more all colour the grooves.

Review: The ever reliable Constant Sound is back this week, with Burnski's imprint serving up a full LP release by the ascendant Leeds DJ/producer Matthew Farrow aka Kepler. A solid selection of retro techno cuts are featured on Freedom Mills, and all for maximum dance floor impact. From the bleep techno euphoria of 'Fold', or the classic '90s house motifs of "Contact" to the dusty rolling beats of 'Professor Pace' and the sunset breaks of "Era" - they are all sure to bang the party. Lucas Alexander - "Enter The Who?" (7:35)
Rooleh - "Dont Need You" (5:33)
Fleur Shore - "Summer Of Love" (5:45)
Review: Darius Syrossian's Moxy Muzik label is all about peak-time, sweat-inducing, no-frills, straight-up, well-jacked, classically-informed and robust house music. And that is, once again, exactly what we get here with this third volume of Moxy Muzik Editions. The man himself kicks off with big room techno roller wAFF on a turbo-charged and Detroit-tinged cut, then Lucas Alexander's 'Enter The Who?' slips into more frictionless and catchy tech. Rooleh brings something of a hip house vibe to the bouncing drums of 'Don't Need You' and Fleur Shore impresses with the driving sounds of 'Summer Of Love.'

Review: As evidenced by the cover of this latest EP, Belgian house artist Hermanez has his head in the clouds. Similarly, if we were to liken the weight of his productions to a cloud, it would probably be a dense cumulonimbus, ready to pour it all down on us. That's because every track on this bit has extra-special, nuanced attention paid to its drums, all of which are backed up by immense, emotive bassweight to boot.

Review: 'Umfang' roughly translates from German to mean 'scope' or 'perspective', and that's exactly what German dub techno stalwart Jonathan Kaspar provides here. Each track "transports (the artist's) pandemic desires into today's world", through the use of flappy and spacious sound design, undulating pads, tactile post-dub ricochets... and happy, nappy minimality.

The Morning Song (11:59)
Facundo Mohrr & Valdovinos - "Deja Vu" (9:32)
Alone (feat Juan Hansen) (6:51)
Review: Facundo Mohrr is a staple of the Argentine prog house scene, and he has a considerable catalogue of digital releases behind him. In addition, he also has the pinnacle of his career to date - La Espere - under his belt for the All Day I Dream label. Four years on, he returns to the label for Deja Vu, a bright and bold step on for an artist who defines himself by his use of melody. 'The Morning Song' is a swooning, romantic piece of prog with anthemic leads and an arrangement carefully sculpted to take a big crowd skywards. 'Deja Vu' is just as catchy and emotionally charged, albeit with a slightly techier disposition, and 'Alone' features the vocal touch of Juan Hansen to add to the impassioned mood of the record.

Tamarindo (13:14)
Time Issues (9:01)
For (4:46)
Review: Here comes something new on the ever-essential Perlon. There's no exact information about who is behind Ottlix, although some scant information online points to the names Felix HK and Ottber, whoever they might be. Either way, mystery is always a part of the Perlon vibe and so it goes on this superlative trip into micro house territory, with lead track 'Tamarindo' pivoting around a relaxed broken beat formation and elegant slithers of deep techno synthesis. The snaking rhythmic style keeps up on 'Time Issues', which comes on like a Stasis joint with its fluttering, psychedelic machine soul tones. 'For' has a more pointed shift towards the dancefloor with a steady house beat, but it's still plenty weird as a good Perlon record should be.

Theory 01 (Zlatnichi remix) (8:37)
Review: Rub A Dub serve up a delicious set of vinyl only minimal and tech houser tools to kick off new label Substitute in slick fashion. The opener is a squelchy mix of bubbly bass and crispy hits with squirrelling synths fleshing it out. 'Theory 02' carries on in similar fashion with a slightly more spooky and unsettling vibe but still dynamic, rubbery bass. 'Theory 03' strips it back to some trippy sine wavs and late night tones designed for afterparty madness and Zlatnichi remixes the opener into something with a little more bite and funk. A useful EP for sure.

Dav - "Flight" (7:15)
Review: Deep Sleep Robot awakens once more for another offering of slick and seductive late night house and tech fusions. It was Len Lewis who got this label underway and set out its mission to release music that first dropped between 1994 and 2004, but here were get four artists in fine form. Ronin keeps it simple but effective on the silky electronic house depths of 'Mysterious City' while 'Takemountain' gets more muscular and 'Adjust' gets cosmic. Dav closes down with the tightly coiled and kinetic kicks of 'Flight.'

Laidlaw - "Repeated Patterns" (5:54)
Review: Sonder is a new London-based label dealing in sprightly tech house with plenty of wiggle. Cutting the ribbon is ADMNTi, who has been on superlative form via releases for Dansu Discs, 4Plae and Yamanu amongst others. His 'Liquor Locker' and 'BetaSpace' cuts are splashed with a little sunshine, some garage bump and subtle trance touches, all the better to grease up the dancefloor. Laidlaw takes up position on the flip, offering his own strain of shuffling funky stuff for the peak time crowd. 'Open To Receive' has a subtly spiritual slant to it, while 'Repeated Patterns' gets into a snaking house trip with cheeky hooks and snappy basslines for days.

Speedball (Full Whip version) (7:11)
Speedball (Severe Itching mix) (4:27)
Speedball (Strip Off dub) (5:38)
Speedball (Whizbang mix) (6:01)
Review: The iconic North London dance music duo Idjut Boys are famed for their nostalgia fueled offerings of dub, disco and house and join forces again for this 4 track single featuring 4 completely different takes on the track 'Speedball'. The 'Full Whip' version is an 80s powersynth with powerful kicks and synth perfection, an authentic use of a commodified sound used in the past couple of years. 'Severe Itching' takes the party downstairs into an acid techno rave, the liquid bass seeping through your ear canal into your skull - an utterly extraterrestrial experience. 'Strip Off Dub' is just that: a stripped back dub version of 'Full Whip'. Focusing on the heftier synths and bass, with the rushing wind effects that compromised 'Full Whip'. 'Whizbang Mix' invites you back into the bassment for another slice of acid house pie, the meeting point between 'Full Whip' and 'Severe Itching' that feels like trying to listen to the former after the laters aforementioned liquid has blocked your eardrums. This one's for the messy afterparty.

Review: Following some great ones by Zaltsman, Chevals and Dafs, Manchester's Dansu Discs returns this week with a killer four-tracker by Moscow Records chief Archie Hamilton. 'Kick It' is a great example of where the UK tech house sound is at in 2022, while you're treated to another typically hypnotic and bass-driven affair on 'People Rock'. Over on the flip, man of the moment Harrison BDP delivers a fantastic electro style remix of the A1, followed by a thumping rendition of the second track aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor

Review: LRNT makes his debut on Sintope Vinyl Series, the label owned by duo NTFO, based in Timisoara, Romania since 2008. Rolling and ethereal main room tech house is provided for on A side cut 'Recovering Condition', the sort of track that's perfect for playing at Sunwaves Festival. Over on the flip, it receives a dubby and glacial reinterpretation by Swedish producer Per Hammar (Dirty Hands/10YEARS) and there's one more hypnotic 'Rominimal' styled cut in the form of the bass-driven minimal house of 'Question Sky'.
