Review: It's a fairly well established fact that legendary dub reggae producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry was at his most mercurial during the years spent behind the desk at his own Black Ark Studio. He would eventually burn it down, of course, but not until he'd helped define the dub sound with a string of killer riddims and brilliant vocal cuts. This compilation from Sanctuary tells the story of those years, gathering together the originally Jamaican-only 7" singles Perry produced in the studio.
