Rock Your Body (7:52)
First Effort (6:03)
The Money (6:08)
Review: Ben Sims on D'julz' Bass Culture imprint? You better believe it! The Hardgroove head honcho and all round techno legend delivers three cuts of bangin' and dusty house that's full of attitude under his new Ron Bacardi alias. "Rock Your Body" features massive drums and a cavernous bassline this side of Shed or Special Request plus mysterious, crooning vocals; it's wicked! "First Effort" is jacking, funky and a downright loopy workout reminiscent of classic DJ Sneak. "The Money" is more like the Sims we know on this tough and tribal DJ tool that delivers all the funk and 'oomph!' so typical of his sound.

Dub Life (7:32)
Dub Life (Blackhall & Bookless mix - Vinyl only) (5:51)
Dub Life (SAM reshape) (7:45)
Dub Life (A Scott Victim X mix - Vinyl only) (6:20)
Review: Constant Sound founders Jon Woodall and Burnski helm the label's latest 12" under their Constant name, with Dub Life featuring remixes from Blackhall & Bookless, S.A.M and A Scott. "Dub Life" is a slithering, slippery and frictionless house roller with tunnelling percussive patterns, restless drums and myriad synth smears that really pull you down into a seductive groove. Subtle vocals add character and ensure this one will keep 'floors locked for days. Jaunt pair Blackhall & Bookless then step up with a fired up, peak time techno leaning bomb with barrelling kicks, ravey stabs and Detroit referencing pads that really grab your attention. The S.A.M. reshape then offers up elastic, spaced out deep house vibes with airy hi hats, lots of height in the drums and plenty of feeling in the slithering synth lines that lace up the track. Closing out the package is a remix from returning label artist A Scott, whose fine remix is a lovably flabby and cavernous track with oodles of reverb, rattling train track like grooves and atmospheric pads that swirl all around you as you drift in his air beats.

To The Unknown (10:10)
To The Unknown (Malin Genie remix) (6:43)
Review: The star of Ukrainian iO (Mulen) continues to rise in steadfast fashion with his funky minimal grooves fast becoming the choice for many tastemakers. So much so, that massive Parisian house label Apollonia have tapped him for a release; not bad at all! "To The Unknown" is ten minutes of funked up, minimal house bliss for freaks that you could imagine a crowd full of hedonists at Sunwaves festival going absolutely mental to. The remix by Amsterdam's Malin Genie (Vigenere/Oscillat) is pretty sweet too, giving it a smooth deep house vibe that doesn't get as abstract as the original.

Too Much Information (Mr Raoul K transformation) (12:19)
Too Much Information (Jephte Guillaumes Tet Kale remix) (11:29)
Review: London's Dele Soismi was former keyboardist for the late great Fela Kuti's live ensemble but nowadays leads his own Dele Soismi Afrobeat Orchestra. His track "Too Much Information" gets the remix treatment, first by Hamburg's Mr Raoul K who gives the track a brilliant transformation complete with a kickin' four to the floor beat and swirling synths, but still keeping all the original afrobeat groove intact. Former Joe Claussel collaborator and Tet Kale label boss Jephte Guillame gets onboard also to deliver a sweet remix which stays closer to the original's afrobeat aesthetic but injecting some of his own signature flavour.

Track 4 (6:55)
Review: Having previously showcased his fluid brand of techno and deep house on Suena Hermosa and Beste Modus, Diego Krause decided to launch the Unison Wax label as a vehicle for his productions back in 2013. Here he returns with a fourth volume, seemingly keen to wring maximum atmosphere and deepness via a quartet of smooth, well-produced cuts. He opens with a subtly starry fusion of techno hypnotism and quiet deep house warmth, before concentrating on groove with the late night tech-house throb of "Track 2". Flip for the bass-heavy, stripped-back groove science of "Track 3", and the typically Germanic afterhours pump of "Track 4".

Take Me Back (original 1990 mix) (6:13)
Take Me Back (Ilario Liburni remix) (9:49)
Take Me Back (Ricardo Villalobos Mistuck Vill remix) (9:53)
Review: 1990 acid house classic "Take Me Back" by Miami producer William Torres gets a reissue on Belgian imprint Invade. The original 303 banger is featured of course, in all its squelchy, snappy and downright epic glory, but it's the remixes which are definitely most curious. The remix by label boss Ilario Liburni is a deep, druggy and bumping remix for modern dancefloors of the 9AM variety. On the flip the Ricardo Villalobos "Mistuck Mil remix" typically clocks in at just under ten minutes and is a pleasure to listen to in its entirety. He brings back the acid sounds of the original in a more restrained capacity over a tough 808 rhythm pattern, plus trippier vocals than the original.

Vitsippa (6:10)
Blaklocka (6:22)
Snodroppar (7:04)
Review: Oscar Schubaq & Eli Verveine's Tardis label score something approaching a veritable coup with a collection of tracks from Swedish techno veteran Jesper Dahlback under his alias The Persuader. The Varblommer 12" arrives after Dahlback decided to revive the cult project earlier this year and unleash a new album Skargard. If you liked that set you will certainly want to grip this three tracker, which the label reveals was produced as an ode to the floral beauty of his Nordic homeland. Dahlback's style of hypnotic techno is very much in evidence throughout with production quirks, such as the odd vocal manipulations of "Vitsippa" or the crisp finger snapping drums of "Blaklocka" ensuring the record stands out from the vast swathes of modern dubby club cuts.

Sound On Canvas
The Rhythm
Into The Flux
Review: Spain's Alex Font inaugurates his new Acme imprint. On the A side, "Sound On Canvas" is deep and percussive minimal house with a rolling bassline and trippy sound design that is typically suited to awkward and paranoid afterhours shenanigans. "The Rhythm" gets up more on the deep house tip, still keeping the exotic wooden percussion grooves with organ stabs and dreamy, swirling keys that fans of The Mountain People or Agnes and Quarion will appreciate. On the flip "Into The Flux" is a sweaty, peak time people mover, using the same reliable elements like on the other side but with a swing fuelled groove and a hell of a lot of funk that fans of Sascha Dive or Brothers Vibe will no doubt dig.

Are You House (vox) (8:13)
Are You House (drum vox) (8:11)
Review: Basil's vocals have been heard on house records since the late '90s, mainly on imprints like King Street Sounds and this time he teams up with the legendary Ron Trent. "Are You House" is bound to be one of those anthems we're gonna hear a lot going into 2016... And for probably a lot longer than that! The "vox" mix features Basil's epic and timeless monologue accompanied by the tough stomp of an 808, a bumping, razor sharp bassline and sparkling Rhodes keys; what more do you need? The "drum vox" mix does exactly what it says on the cover; a stripped DJ tool which focuses more on the 808 programming prowess without compromising on Basil's timeless message.

Friends That We Met Amongst The Stars (6:10)
Smacked Out On Smudge (5:44)
Review: British retrovert, analogue gear freak and frequent KiNK collaborator Neville Watson is back, this time on Craig Richards' always surprising The Nothing Special. First track "The Watcher" sounds like early Kevin Saunderson with its massive hoover bass and tough beat backed by a huge vocal refrain; this track will tear the roof off! Next up is the Robert Hood style cyclical jam "Friends We Met Among The Stars" its hypnotic groove is as driving as it is infectious and the real highlight on here. Finally on the flip we have "Smacked Out On Smudge" a deep dirty acid jam with an absolute killer of a bassline that modulates and resonates all over the shop with a druggy, delay drenched monologue for added headrush potential.

Bas lbellini & SLF - "Elef Be" (7:10)
Review: Rising star Bassim Ibellini is back after a great release on Crosstown Rebels sub label Rebellion. For Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brother's Tuskegee imprint he gives us the Friendship EP. He first teams up with SLF for the bleepy minimal jam "Friendship" which sounds like some early jams by Run Stop Restore on m_nus from back in the day, with its druggy pitch shifted vocals. "Start Don't Stop" is more on the deep tech house vibe, with its wobbly bass driven groove and eerie atmospherics. On the flip we've got "Happy Go Lucky" getting back on the minimal tip with its woozy, off kilter arpeggio driving the track in spectacular fashion and finally "Elef Be" where he teams up with SLF again for some driving peak time tech house that packs some serious punch in its intricate syncopated rhythm workout.

Review: Acido is undoubtedly one of the more intriguing labels to releases music that - at a stretch - falls under the banner house and techno. Dynamo Dreesen and SVN, who make up the Dresvn combo, have been collaborating under this moniker since 2009 for labels Sex Tags, Wania and SUED - all of which are loosely connected. This EP is their fourth for Dreseen's Acido and it finds the duo in equally stellar and oddball form once again. Dripping poly-rhythms of tabla drums glop like thick glue over static snare hits in "Track 1", while a gloaming "Track 2" is downtempo and jazzy. "Track 3" accommodates something a little more straight forward; the vocal however, is a different story, which could be said about "Track 4" too, which blurs the line between ambient music and charming minimal house.

Review: Dutch minimal oddball Ion Ludwig is back, doing his thing on his third full length, his first in five years since Free K. Loudwiggle in 2010. It's any wonder, considering his enormous yearly output but he really comes through and delivers the goods on this rather cohesive and ultimately; quality effort. Starting things off with the strangely hypnotic "Date The Save" he soon gets down to business on the tough, rolling and druggy jams "Maternity Album Church" and "After Ysle" which will appeal to fans of the Romanian minimal sound. There's also some totally lush deep house music on offer too in the form of "Alpha Changes" and "Quattro Sur Lac".

Review: Romanian minimal techno hero releases a solo album on Japan's Mule Musiq and what a moment in a brilliant career thus far. This guy is a true innovator and many are curious to hear what kind of journey into the deep and bizarre he can take us on. Starting out with the exotic bongo meditation of "Delir 1" and the breathtaking immersive ambience of "Delir 2" or the sinister and unsettling "Lumiere" things start to develop more movement later. Such as: on the deep hypnotic vibes of "Delir 4" or "Delir 6" which feature sombre string arrangements, emotive piano passages and some of the most expressive and restrained drums and percussion performances. Those expecting the ar:pi:ar sound be prepared, because it 'aint! A solid and contemplative body of work by a modern master in the making.

After the mesmerising and exotic intro of "Assemble" it's business as usual on the bumpy and deep workouts ''Permissive" and "Bootcamp" which of course come complete with mind bending and paranoid sound design that works a treat at those Sunday afterhours moments.
