Space Water (2:40)
Wings (4:07)
Dread II (4:41)
Rewind Riddim (4:49)
Overload Destruction (4:37)
Unknown Territories (4:59)
Review: Mancunian Walton heads to Munich label Ilian Tape for anther of his cutting edge EPs. No stranger to esteemed labels like Hyperdub and Techtonic, this soundsmith once again draws on ambient, techno, bass and IDM across six immersive and cinematic tracks. The first two are largely wide open, cavernous, ambient affairs in which to allow your mind to wander. The inventive rhythms and powerful drums then arrive on 'Dread II' and remain throughout the skittish synth energy of 'Rewind Riddim' and automated factory floor sounds of 'Overload Destruction.' 'Unknown Territories' ends on a more far gazing vibe with pensive pads over scattered kicks.

Cham Dance (4:58)
Five Wisdoms (4:29)
Assault From Java (3:52)
Review: On vinyl by dope demand, Dang-Khoa Chau's fifth album came out on limited tape last summer but is now enjoying the vinyl press it deserves. An instrumental affair, the five track odyssey is an exploration of his Vietnamese roots across a slow-n-low tempo of around 100BPM. Taking in elements of kuduro, baile funk, instrumental grime and UK funky, each cut is a maze of percussion that reflects and shimmers back and forth. The eerie hang drum hypnosis of 'Cham Dance' and the steppy percussive bashment of 'Assault From Java' are two of many highlights.

Review: UK producer Hugo Massien has built a fine following for his bass heavy inventions over the last few years. Now he capitalises on that with a fantastic debut album for E-Beamz that finds him perfect his signature sound while exploring new territory. It comes after plenty of big 12"s on XL Recordings, Keysound, 17 Steps and Unknown to the Unknown and launches with the airy broken beats and garage flecked sounds of 'Chasing Shadows' before exploring cavernous downbeat on 'If You Dare', warped bass bangers on 'Fast Lane' and chunky ambient on 'Cosmological Horizon Entropy.' These are just some of the highlights amongst many.

Review: Futuristic dancehall vibes galore: Montreal's SIM makes his debut on Nervous Horizon with five superb electronic instrumentals. All digging deep into the bashment and moombah sound, but wrapped up in electro and techno armour, the energy and weight behind each track sits somewhere right the centre of rave and soundsystem culture. Visceral, forthright and super physical, all focus is fixed on those bumping kicks and SIM's expert palette of sounds and textures. There are very few styles of bass or tech music that these wouldn't fit in.

Fae Beau (5:40)
Review: Nico Mohammadi returns to German leftfield label Row Records for his third EP. As always the parameters are set wide and take us from serious dancefloor weaponry (the thumping lo-fi techno of 'Grotchz') to sleepy winks and blinks (the dreamy finale track 'Fae Beau') In between he treats us to rolling ricochet 3am breaks ('And You Told Me They Will Be Fine') and ferocious ambience that breaks into drums for the final two minutes ('ICB') Exemplary.

Incoming Signal (4:28)
Spiral Mind (5:37)
Incoming Signal (Pugilist remix) (7:00)
Spiral Mind (Gaunt remix) (5:11)
Review: These precision cuts from Monotronique are engineered to perfection for maximum dance floor devastation. The Ukrainian opens up with 'Incoming Signal', an eerily sparse conception with earth shattering kick drums, jittery hi hats and dystopian sci-fi effects that keep you locked right in. 'Spiral Mind' then layers up broken beats and more coarse percussive textures with a distant but funky hi hat and more withering chord work. On the flip, Pugilist offers a remix designed for wrecking heads and shaking backsides, and 'Gaunt' layers up experimental loops, textures and malfunctioning machine sounds into a darkly atmospheric number.

Odyssey (2:19)
1997 (6:00)
Turismo (5:37)
O (3:53)
Review: Six Figure Gang's Jossy Mitsu makes her debut on Astral Black with four stark, dark tracks that map the parameters of her world further than before. 'Odyssey' is an ice cold stuttering breakbeat trip that hits like brittle electro. It's backed with more fuel to the fire: '1997' hits like an old UR record with its crunchy kicks and dubby synths, 'Turismo' is intense with its militant snare rolls and driving energy while 'O' brings us full circle as we hear more of Mitu's breaks, this time presented with an industrial strength two-step. Welcome to 'Planet J', there's no turning back.

Bom Feito (4:40)
Sonho Weird (4:08)
Review: From Lisbon with love, Portuguese beat meddler Rabu Mazda revs up with his second album Ta Sempre Pegando Fogo. Building on the free-form, switchy mischievous melting pot style he's known for in prior operations like Putas Bebadas and Iguanas, the whole collection is a rave reverie as he throws in gallons of samples over his scatty spirited breakbeats. Highlights include the 2 Bad Mice-does-Favela funk style bubbles and breezes of 'Mago Mazda', the slamming Vamp-ish synths of Silvestra's remix of 'Fumo No Olho' and the euphoric Luke Vibert-style finale 'Sonho Weird'. Fire in the hole.

Na Viela (instrumental) (4:15)
Virar (feat T9 RJ) (3:22)
Virar (instrumental) (3:20)
Review: Time for some bumpy Baile business as Parisian beatmaker Amor Satyr makes his debut on local label Promesses. Following the Baile Do Satyr series on Wajang, here he lays down two more trappy fusions with the help of MCs MC Buzzz and T9 RJ. 'Na Viela' hits instantly with its weeping synths and staccato autotuned bars of Buzzz while 'Virar' heads down a darker path with the riff buried under rasping venom bars from Rio's T9 RJ. Sharp, tense and complete with instrumentals, these translate to all corners from hip-hop to broken beat.
