Review: We are proud to release 'Fortunate Isolation' the sophomore album from Borusiade. Born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, Borusiade aka Miruna Boruzescu started DJ-ing in 2002 as one of the very few female DJs in the city's emerging alternative clubbing scene. Influenced by a classical musical education, a bachelor in film direction and fascinated by raw electronic sounds, Borusiade first combined these universes in the construction of her DJ sets and starting 2005 also in her music production. A sound of her own has slowly crystallized, often dark with poignant bass lines, obsessive themes and by all means melodic. She has released EPs on labels like Pinkman, Unterton, Cititrax, Correspondant and Comeme, who released her debut album 'A Body' in 2018. 'Fortunate Isolation' is perhaps Borusiade's most personal release to date.

Quito (140 gram vinyl 12")
Cat: C 010. Rel: 09 Mar 20
  1. Nicola Cruz - "Tu Recuerdo"
  2. FE - "Tarde O Temprano"
  3. Quixosis - "Vibras"
  4. NTFL - "Vacio"
Review: Calypso is back with a new instalment of their world exploration in the search for new sounds. This time and with the help of Nicola Cruz they choose to showcase the city of Quito. In Nicola's own words: "From the highlands of the Equator, an eclectic sound develops in multiples forms: tension, gravity, drums...un-dusted elements from old records, retranslated to tape in order to revive the emotion. All the tracks in this compilation have been assembled through different experimental methods, as this is something that characterizes our creation around here. The work of FE, Quixosis, NTFL (from the city of Ibarra) and my self represent in this record some of the underground fields that this city offers". Indeed an experimental way to experience this city through the sounds of this 4 amazing producers.

Initial Conditions
Initial Conditions (transparent marbled vinyl 12" + MP3 download code limited to 250 copies)
Cat: MOLT 001. Rel: 20 Feb 20
  1. DB1 - "Late Night"
  2. DB1 - "Tone"
  3. DB1 - "Loop #1-10"
  4. DYL - "YDNTKNW"
  5. Paragon - "Black Celebration (Stone Cold)"
Review: Molt assembles with DB1's opening redefinition of form & function in Late Night; a journey of spatial exploration and intricate drum work arranged for polyrhythmic bitempo hybrid territory, palpating into a spectrumrich environment topdressed with scything layers of percussion. Tone, DB1's beatless secondary o.ering introduces fluid, localised doses of low frequency synth work, developing into an exploration inside rich, vivid arrays of convoluted space. Vinyl copies of Initial Conditions include 10 infinite lockedgroove loops assembled by DB1 himself, covering 1 bar percussion arrangements as well as ambience and dronenoise terrain. These additions aim to channel functionality and provide creative tools for performance. Flip over to uncover the masterful work of DYL in YDNTKNW: a lesson in dynamics, donning swathes of industrial elasticity yet solidifying itself as a functional dancefloorworthy exercise. Rip roaring waveforms are barely suspended by the tension of cables buckling under pressure. Paragon delivers via Molt's first edition, Black Celebration (Stone Cold): a controlled descent into insanity in the form of textured sample destruction. Pitch bent, brash and broken; Paragon's drunken drum patterns dissolve into redux noise and drum confusion, conjuring a sleep paralysis inducing bed of imagery, advancing into a spiral of unconscious cacophony. The piece finalises as a crescendo of lockedloop noise.

Uniformity of Nature EP (140 gram clear vinyl 12" in screen-printed PVC sleeve + download card)

  4. DYL & DB1 - "Uniformity Of Nature" (5:58)
  5. Senking - "Launch" (4:31)
  6. DYL - "Semantics" (4:05)
Review: Uniformity of Nature, the second release on Prague based Detach Recordings, marks an exciting collaboration between Romanian producer DYL (re:st, Alpha Cutauri, Skutta) and Germany's Senking (Raster Noton, Karaoke Kalk). DYL pushes the bounderies of his sound beyond his 170 roots, with the powerful electronics of 'Phrases' and the electrifying team-up with Senking on 'Destroyed City Lights'. Two tracks see DYL in the more familiar peripheries of D&B. The percussive 'Words', with its curious background atmospherics, and the driving, hypnotic collaboration with DB1 on the title track 'Uniformity of Nature'. 'Launch' sees Senking slow the tempo down and delve into a more murky space, yet still highly-charged with razor-sharp sound design. DYL closes the EP with the abstract 'Semantics', a further excursion into experimental electronics. The record comes housed in a screen-printed transparent sleeve, with a limited edition insert by Romanian artist Teodora Gavrila.

  8. SDLY
Review: AE presents two 12"s of rhythmic hypnosis from the eXquisite CORpsE related project, XqST (Robbert Heijnen and Debbie Jones). AE logic symbols that stand for "For All" and "There Exists" is a deep and meditative journey moving further into the more abstract territories that Robbert and Debbie previously explored with eXquisite CORpsE.

Most of the material on the record is selected from improvisations Robbert and Debbie recorded in their home studio in Vancouver, BC during 2003, except for "SDLY" which was recorded in the Netherlands in 1996.

The material came about naturally, mixing previously collected loops and sounds with improvisations and manipulations on further electronic equipment. During the time of these recordings, Robbert and Debbie would put their kids to bed and retreat to their home studio, where making noise together was a way to relax.

These eight tracks are a coherent document of the free-flowing experimentation and musical symbiosis shared between Robbert and Debbie. Created for each other, now to be shared.

  1. Alles Was Du Hasst
  2. Atomic Enigma
  3. Zerstore Eine Stadt (feat Rosaceae)
  4. I Dont Like Your Party
  5. Dead Rat Under The Table
Review: After the release on Helena Hauff's label Return To Disorder earlier this year, the Hamburg based producer turns to Eye For An Eye to release his awaited EP "Zerstore Eine Stadt". A well crafted piece divided in 5 different moments that portrait the mind state of L.F.T. living in an industrial city with mechanical and optimized routines. Sharing the A side is the punchy and muscular "Alles Was Du Hasst "and "Atomic Enigma", the last an introspective and misterious slow tempo ebm-ish piece. "Zersto?re Eine Stadt" featuring vocals from Rosaceae is an emotive piece expressed through distortion pedals, revealing the poetic side of rage and trauma. "I Don't Like Your Party" plays around a playfully sinister melody and charmingly offbeat vocals that give this track a unique groove. "Dead Rat Under The Table" cools the whole EP down, ending it as intense and mesmerazing as it started.

Sholay (Kris Baha/Multiple Man Sniffing Anxiety mixes)

  3. Sholay (Kris Baha remix)
  4. Negative Space (Multiple Man Sniffing Anxiety remix)
Review: London based French producer Mondowski follows a spate of recent releases on Relish and Ombra with a new club-orientated vision for London label and clubnight SC&P. Following his remix services on label's debut and 4th releases, Mondowski makes his full lavel debut with an electro inspired turn. Dancefloor orientated lead track Sholay finds a mesmerizing path somewhere between extroverted 80's electro and celebratory spiritual transcendence and gets the remix treatment from Pinkman's Kris Baha who subverts the original by turning the electro backbone up to 11. The EP's B-side, Negative Space, voyages into darker electro territories with Kraftwerkesque synths, rolling pads and a motorik bassline, all of which provides the launchpad for Multiple Man to turn out a pitch black EBM banger.

  2. Auf Die Erde

  4. Das Bild Das Wiederkehrt
Review: Cititrax is excited to announce a new EP entitled 'Die Stimme Drangt' by Schwefelgelb, a Techno Body Music duo from Berlin. Known for their bombastic strobe-lit live performances and immaculate studio production, their sound can be described as heavy, apocalyptic electronic body music for the club. They often play their synths intentionally detuned, and find harmony in disharmonious melodies paired with strong, steady rhythms and sparse, abstract vocals. They have had the opportunity to tour all over Europe as well as America and East Asia several times now. It is no surprise that their releases sell out quickly and are often re-pressed due to their popularity in the techno sceneand beyond. The 'Die Stimme Drangt' EP is their first original EP since 2018, the year they put out their highly acclaimed 'Aus Den Falten' which fiercely hit the DJ circuit and left a great impression. Their music has been played by DJs like Silent Servant, The Hacker, Helena Hauff, Veronica Vasicka, Regis, Samuel Kerridge, Phase Fatale, Adam X, Front 242, Jensen Interceptor, Tommy Four Seven and more.

  4. Find Your Way
Review: Svarog representative of the Ukrainian techno scene joins Lowless for a deep and atmospheric techno EP. The main inspiration of the artist is about the searching for mysterious and incomprehensible things, esoteric knowledge. The Way To; an hypnotic techno track where organic drums meet shamanic voices to start the trip. Flight Over; deep pads melting with flowing minimalist percussions giving an ethereal feeling. Walking Through; Subtle melodic synths answering to a dynamic bass for the most techno track of the EP. Find Your Way; an ambient track closing the journey with a vocal between textures.
