Review: Here's a treat for all those who've fallen in love with the eccentric, anything goes deep house antics of Sweden's Studio Barnhus label: a double-pack, nestled in a transparent plastic sleeve, featuring brand new dubs of vintage label material. Axel Boman kicks things off with a wonderfully rolling, tactile version of his jazz-flecked summertime bomb "Mogadishu", before Shakarchi and Straneus get all twinkling and Balearic with a decidedly touchy-feely take on "ABBA". Side three boasts another "ABBA-Dubb", this time from Baba Stiltz, who adds a little Latin flavour to proceedings before dropping into a colossal bassline, ragged electronics and glitchy rhythms. Finally, Pedrodollar's disco-influenced anthem "Love Me Now" is given the "Dubb" treatment, with particularly delicious results.

Review: There's no doubt that the combination of electronic eccentric Madteo, and the similarly quirky Wania label, is a winning one. This is the Italian oddball's third release for DJ Sotofett's imprint, and his first full-length since 2012's Mad Dip Revue. Rapper Sensational appears on over half the tracks, blessing Madteo's beats - which vary from dub-heavy bounce to tropical grooves, via elastic punk-funk, grainy hip-hop and aquatic house - with his distinctive presence. As ever with Wania releases, pinning down exactly what's on offer is tough; suffice to say, the music is as imaginative, off-kilter and exciting as you'd expect.

Like the first instalment - an essential set of little-known funk jams from the disco, boogie and P-funk era - Supafunkanova Vol 2 is full of high grade, little-known material. If anything, the selections are deeper than those on the predecessor; it's unlikely that many will have previously come across the sparkling, bongo-laden synth-funk of Stimulus' "Super Stimulus", Nice & Tight Band's hustlin' disco-funk party jam "Let's Get High (On The Music)" or Brenda Harris's low-slung "Making Love Will Keep You Fit" (a throwaway piece of advice that remains as true as ever).

Review: When Joey Negro and Sean P established the Disco Spectrum series of compilations back in 1999, few DJs were digging for disco. Almost two decades on, we're told that disco was the sound of summer 2017 (and the summer before that). The time is right, then, for this "best of", containing the finest cuts from the series' three previous volumes. This time round, the crate-digging duo has opted for a mixture of familiar favourites ("Spread Love", "Out Of My Hands (Love's Taking Over)", "Bourgie Bourgie", "Together Forever" etc.) and harder to find gems. Review: Steve Kotey and Loud-E present this illuminating retrospective of material from Dieter Kolb, Franz Aumuller and Franz Knuttel, three German musicians more widely known collectively for their work as Supersempfft and Roboterwerke. As Supersempfft, the trio released Roboterwerke, a 1979 LP on the iconic CBS imprint which is now a collectors item thanks in no small part to the heavy usage of a bespoke drum machine (also called Roboterwerke) the trio had manufactured themselves. This collection includes material from that album along with tracks from further albums recorded as both Supersempfft and Roboterwerke, complemented by some unreleased versions as well as a smattering of edits from Kotey and Loud-E. Sauntering luxuriously between moments of cosmiche, minimal synth and dubby disco, Selected Werks Vol 1 presents a wonderful insight into the work of musicians clearly ahead of their time.

He reworks it into a more dance floor friendly disco sound with bright nu-disco melodies and slinky drums. Review: Captured Tracks hit the jackpot with this amazing collection of music from Saada Bonaire, "the fantastic disco/world music project duo out of Bremen, German that was never meant to be". Formed in the early 80s by Bremen DJ Ralf Behrendt, Saada Bonaire was based around two sultry female vocalists (Stefanie Lange and Claudia Hossfeld) who would be joined by dozens of local musicians culled from the local immigration centre. Picked up by EMI in 1982, the group's sole single "You Could Be More As You Are" was produced by studio legend Dennis Bovell and featured the sax talents of jazz icon Charlie Mariano. Despite the single being released in 1984, behind the scenes issues led to EMI dropping Saada Bonaire who promptly disappeared off the radar. This eponymous collection presents the two tracks from Saada Bonaire's single along with eleven unreleased songs recorded between 1982 and 1985 which sound amazingly current!

Formed in 1982 by DJ Ralf Behrendt, the unique concept band was based around the super seductive vocal sounds of Stefanie Lange and Claudia Hossfeld. The musicians in the band were from local immigration centres and they signed to EMI to put out one single only, 'You Could Be More As You Are.' Dennis Bovell produced it in Kraftwerk's studio and it fused dub, African sounds, drum machines and synths into something special. The band was cancelled soon after but not before they realised a load of the tunes that had already written on this essential album.

Originally released on Calendar / Unidisc, here Boom reboot its timeless funk for a brand new chapter of dancefloors. Review: Tim Bernhardt AKA Satin Jackets has long been renowned for his ability to cannily join the dots between ear-catching synth-pop, sunset-ready Balearica and cheery, club-ready nu-disco. He's at it again on "Solar Nights", his delayed follow-up to 2016 debut full-length "Panorama Pacifico". This is crossover Balearic pop/nu-disco on a grand scale, with Bernhardt wrapping colourful synthesizer lines and dreamy vocals around glistening grooves and loved-up melodies. Review: Making their intentions clear from the offset, Seahawks are proudly representing all things water-based once again on their sixth album. It's impressive that they've managed to notch up so much material considering they only started releasing in 2010, but they've obviously struck upon a sound that fits them and are mining it for all its worth. It's a dreamy kind of downtempo that has whispers of disco and funk, all carefully guided through heavy processing that emphasises the tidal swell of their elemental muse. It's a decidedly chilled-out affair that favours strung out jams to focused composition, coming on just a little prog but sounding no weaker for it.
