Tempa Allstars Vol 8
Cat: TEMPA 104. Rel: 30 Dec 15
Acre - "Messages" (5:59)
Epoch - "The Vile" (4:42)
Cliques - "AUT" (6:30)
Fracture - "Excalibur" (4:37)
Youngsta & Distance - "Track 5" (5:38)
Biome - "Closed Minds" (6:06)
Review: The Allstars compilation series from Tempa has proved a fine litmus test of the UK underground since it was launched in the heady early days of dubstep circa 2003. An eighth volume rounds out Tempa's 2015 business and this broadly diverse selection is proof enough that bass music is in fine health. Following his superb debut LP for Tectonic, Acre opens the doublepack with the stuttered, swung sound design of "Messages", and from here Tempa run the gamut of the UK bass scene. Epoch lays down raw and doomy steppa vibes with "The Vile", Cliques offers up futuristic footwork of "Aut" whilst both Youngsta & Distance and Biome bring the 140BPM heat.

Blood Artist (3:59)
Review: Visionist's Lost Codes label gets rebooted as a new sublabel to PAN, laying down some foundations ahead of the UK artist's long-mooted debut album for the Berlin label. Overseen by both Visionist and PAN founder Bill Kouligas, the first Codes release brings together two artists who have previously excelled on Lost Codes in Acre and Filter Dread. Working together for the first time, the six track Interference suggests this is a deadly partnership that should be given the platform to express itself further. Degraded 8bit sounds permeate opener "Drumz34" which comes across like early Actress played at the wrong speed, whilst sickeningly good sub bass is deployed on "Flash Speed" and "Trashed" is a superb exercise in slack jawed drum programming. Some cavernous bass kicks on this one. "Life" is wonderfully slippery in full flow, whilst "Unknown" is up there with Gramrcy's "Ruffian" in the heavyweight contenders of the year stakes.

Fish - "Pinocchio Riddim" (4:28)
MOREOFUS - "Lord" (5:36)
LTHL - "Unknown" (4:41)
Review: Bournemouth boys It's Foundation return with another super-limited, all-corner flavour frenzy. Patrick Brian's "Twelve77" kicks off on a sci-fi instrumental grime vibe, all sirens and star-gazing, Fish gets busy on a sweet two-step vibe with a well-known vocal sample and mischievous bass oscillations while MOREOFUS smelts downs our souls with the late night trap/dubstep hybrid "Lord". We wrap up with wave wonderment as Liquid Ritual's LTHL closes the EP with a deep breeze stepper that's dense in atmospheres but light in its rolling drums. Acutely on-point.

Deepend! Chapter II

CLZ - "Haunt" (4:14)
Kanomotis - "Watch Yah Steppa" (VIP) (3:18)
Rawland & Dubdiggerz - "Madness" (4:42)
Flo & Gisaza - "Northern Technique" (3:38)
Review: Slovenian dubstep dons DubDiggerz curate the new collection for their "Chapter" series with this quartet of glorious gloom. CLZ returns to the label with "Haunt", a sludgy number that sucks you in like sinking sand. It's followed by a killer VIP of "Watch Yah Steppa" where a spicy little sample is added to the mix for extra hype. Flip for "Madness" as DubDiggerz bring Rawland into the fold with a tense workout that's prone to sudden textural twists and boasts stacks of space between the percussion. Finally Flo & Gisaza close the EP with a moody marching piece that rumbles ominously building up to big waves of eastern mysticism. Depend on DeepEnd.

But just listen to these beats and you know a good time is guaranteed. Distinct Motive, Fearless Dread, Hella and Logan all on board with a few tunes apiece, vibes range from trippy dubstep to slinky grime. Elan - "I Can't Breathe"
Elan - "McGuillicutty Moves"
FaltyDL - "Large Flash"
FaltyDL - "I'm Gonna Show You Somthin"
Review: Fifty Weapons arrive with their latest sonic emissive as the mysterious eLan and FaltyDL each take a side on this classy 10 inch. eLan seems to have been plucked from relative obscurity by Modeselektor (he also featured prominently on last year's Modeselektion Vol 1) but the producer certainly knows how to craft a fine instro hop beat with "I Can't Have" laying down woozed out hypnagogic synths over a bumping beat which dovetails nicely with the more frenetic rhythmic leanings of "McGuillicutty Moves" . Falty ups the pace on the other side with some futurist beat action, as "Large Flash" and "I'm Gonna Show You Somthin" both tweak a 2-step bass heavy flex over stuttering melodic and vocal edits.

Full Throttle
Slow Down
Review: Rising French talent F aka Florent Aupetit continues to do good things via the 7even imprint, ably following his acclaimed Energy Distortion long player last year with Full Throttle, his debut release of 2011. The two tracks here see F swerve away from the canny mixture of techno and dubstep explored on his LP for a more defined 808 flex that sits comfortably alongside some of the more futuristic endeavours of the Swamp81 camp. The title track especially so, which the keener observers of internet movements will have heard in LWE and FACT mixes from 2562 and Bok Bok respectively. There are few rhythmic kinks in its bass heavy electro deviations, but it's a potent weapon all the same. The flip is more adventurous by far, a veritable downpour of intricately slipped percussion playing off the straight toms and scattergun kicks amidst a background of cascading sonics. Sickness!

Tungsten (feat Hodge)
Review: Marking the emergence of another fresh talent in the bustling Bristolian scene, Idle Hands present the bass-laden, icy talents of Facta to the world. "Loveless" carries the torch from the finest stripped-down dubstep standards and applies it to the slower tempos of today, with a cheeky line in square wave bass thrown in for good measure to make for a cool tempered, deceptively heavy cut. Local champ Hodge lends a hand on "Tungsten", which finds a more peppy set of drums ticking away over dynamic flourishes of bass and samples with some wonderfully haunting refrains woven in to break up the mechanismo.

Upsetter
Review: Originally released in October 2013, Facta's powerful "Montpelier" EP enjoys a much-needed repress on 180g. Truly unique, it still sounds like it was cooked up tomorrow: the title track is a chugging 4/4 hurter that takes the house formula, chews it up and spits it back with venomous mischief, "Kobra" is a steppy jam where beats fly upside your head sharply and eastern instrumentation soften the blow. Finally "Upsetter" leaves us sedated in an authentic dub coma while strategic breakbeats wisp and waft just out of reach. Badimup are killing it. And that's a Facta.

Fallow & Alex Compton - "String Assassin" (3:49)
Kaido - "Kennedy Bridge" (4:27)
Zha - "Without" (3:47)
Nakes - "Moksha" (4:02)
Review: White Peach's admirable Peach Bits series, which draws together previously unreleased gems from the label's growing roster of artists, has reached its fifth volume. While previous volumes have largely aimed squarely at the dancefloor, this edition is more eclectic in outlook. Compare, for example, the paranoid, exotic darkness of Kaido's deep dubstep rattler "Kennedy Bridge" and the Eastern mysticism - via the Spanish Riviera - of Zha's "Without", which pairs gentle dubstep rhythms with lilting Japanese melody lines and flamenco guitar flourishes. Or, for that matter, the drowsy, post-rock-meets-dubstep haze of Fallow and Alex Compton's "String Assassin", and the blissfully exotic, almost Balearic melodies of Nakes' thrillingly positive dubstep shuffler "Moksha".

DJ Chalice - "Raise Ya Chalice" (3:40)
Review: Chow Down serves up its second release with the adventurous grime exploits of Fallow and DJ Chalice, twisting out all kinds of audacious bass shapes that would set the dance alight at parties such as Boxed. Fallow takes the A side with confidence, fresh from a release on Blood Frenzy, and "Blitz" shows the emergent producer is taking no prisoners with a hail of bullets and haunting Indian classical samples. "Northern Don" is a more wobbly synth-rich beat, while "Operation Dark Fruit VIP" amps up the grime strings. DJ Chalice has a lighter touch, bringing in some sunnier melodics and embracing the RnB influences on "Artois Anthem".

Straight & Arrow (original)
Straight & Arrow (Mike Q & Divoli S'vere remix)
Straight & Arrow (Four Tet remix)
Review: On the basis of the material FaltyDL has released with Ninja Tune thus far, his forthcoming third album Hardcourage should rank as one of the more interesting albums to surface in the first quarter of next year. Following the excellent throwback styles of "Hardcourage", the New Yorker showcases his seemingly endless palette of styles with "Straight & Narrow", a wonderfully colourful and vivid sounding production. Dominated by some deft vocal chopping, it's the way these cooing elements intertwine with the beguiling synth noodling and crisp almost handclap style beats that resonates deeply. Ballroom duo Mike Q and Divoli S'vere naturally latch onto the most obvious elements in the vocals and clapped beats, laying them atop a breathlessly frenetic rhythmic mainframe, while Four Tet hogs the flip with a dewy eyed, slowly percolating seven minute remix that will tug at the heart strings of his legion of fans.

If I
Sketches (SBTRKT remix)
Review: Fantastic Mr Fox is back on Black Acre with three new, original tracks on his "Sketches EP," which also includes a SBTRKT remix of the title track. Coined by some as clockwork garage, the music created by the undoubtedly talented Fantastic Mr Fox is often tinged with melancholic undertones and wrapped up in computer funk cuts - his Sketches EP is no different.

The young producer is a university student in Manchester. This EP was made on his computer in his room a few months ago. Although the noises themselves would allude to this, the clever arrangement and innovative rhythms on the release certainly would not. His aim was to make music that would sound as good on the dancefloor as they would on a bus. Opening with the title track, "Sketches" grumbling bass murmurs alongside kicks and shuffling drum patterns. The Nintendo sounding noises that waft over "Sketches" also make an appearance on "BrickAbrac." Only this time, they are accompanied by a more thumping 4/4 beat and a warbling sub bass that complements the computer noises perfectly.

"If I" is certainly the most soulful of the tracks, taking on a futuristic twist on soul infused garage music. The easiest track of the four to listen to, this is likely to be as popular amongst old fans of the scene as it is with the new ones. The last track on the EP is SBTRKT's remix of "Sketches." The track is reduced to its shell and then rebuilt with Detroit style beats and a huge drop which explodes with massive drums, making this the real dancefloor killer of the pack.

Part #2 features dub mixes from South London's premier dub-step crew Digital Mystikz (DMZ) who recently supported FFD at their Brixton Academy show. A version from Manchester roots reggae connection Blood & Fire vs Deep Sound and a slamming electro dub mix from Kalbata (aka Ariel Tagar from Tel Aviv). Anticipation for the Digital Mystikz remix has been very strong since they supported FFD at Brixton Academy. As such the pair set up their gear and set to work, crafted hours of jams and passing them back and forth between their bases in Liege and London, then polishing them up into he tunes we have presented here. It makes fora record filled with club energy, but experimental edge, and goes from half time steppers to make you sweat to slower, more seductive passages of last night, bass driven sound.

Still Sittin' Here (accapella)
Review: Two generations of grime combine here as the massive "Still Sittin' Here" from Dizzee and Fekky finally gets a vinyl release. The track's been heating up an already humid London all summer after Mistajam first aired it on Radio 1, and it's great to finally be able to grip it on (yellow) vinyl. For the uninitiated, "Still Sittin' Here" sees production duo Splurgeboys riff on the music from the opener to Dizzee's classic Boy In Da Corner LP and it's amazing how futuristic it still sounds. Vocal mix, accapella and instrumental versions all available here and for us it's all about that frenetic battle of wits and spits between Dizzee and Fekky.

Missing Link (4:40)
Review: For the latest sub-heavy missive on his fast-rising Navy Cut label, Jack Sparrow has turned to his friend in bass, Fiend - and the shadowy producer has duly delivered. The real killer - to our ears, at least - is A-side "Jah Hear Me", an ultra-deep affair where reggae vocal samples echo across the soundscape and creepy ambient chords slowly pulse above a hushed rhythm track and rubling, super-low sub-bass. It's one that we could see appealing just as much to ambient astronaughts and deep dubstep heads. Over on side B, "Missing Link" offers up a sturdier rhythm, heavier bass, alien effects and a serious deep space atmosphere.

Fill Spectre - "Battle For Spice" (5:35)
Distinct Motive - "Krome" (5:07)
Review: Having announced this in September 2015, San Diego's Banana Stand South have eked out a dangerously long lead time on delivery on this. But, as those who've been pensively waiting will attest, the wait is worth it: Fill Spectre's "Battle For Spice" shakes with both a funky percussion and a devilish detuned bassline. Complete with a peppering of surprises and twists in the tales, this battle is of war-like proportions. Krome's "Distinct Motive" is slightly more conventional with its halftime beat but the crying bass groans that spiral further and further into paranoid chaos create a unique character. Especially when the added sub comes in at the last minute. Freaky.

Review: First appearing on Visionist's Lost Codes label in 2012, Birmingham-based producer Filter Dread was also responsible for one of last year's most interesting cassette releases in the Space Loops tape for the No Corner imprint. Although nominally linked to instrumental grime, the Space Loops cassette suggested that the producer's influences drew from jungle, rave and ambient just as much. Here Filter Dread re-emerges in triumphant fashion with the MIDI Space 12" for long-running UK label Ramp Recordings, which brandishes six tracks that showcase his individual take on the UK hardcore continuum. There's plenty of diversity in sound here too, with the dizzying darkside styles of "Clowns from Outer Space" and "MIDI Fighter" contrasting notably with the self explanatory "Jungle Ambience" and the stuttering sub bass delight of "Stolen Dub".

Feel Like
Friends In High Places
Review: 2011 has really seen young producer George FitzGerald come into his own, with exceptional releases on Hotflush, Aus, and his own ManMakeMusic imprint all helping him to develop his silky brand of garage-leaning bass music into a trademark sound. His final release of the year sees him return to the Hotflush stable for Shackled, the title track of which will already be familiar to those who have heard Scuba's DJ-Kicks mix. It revolves around a lush ever-intensifying chord sequence and twitchy acidic synth line and is perhaps his most effective dancefloor weapon yet. However, it's the B-Side that provides the real delights; "Feel Like" is a foray into a housier terrain, with an organ melody that evokes some of Marc Kinchen's NY garage productions of the 90s, while "Friends In High Places" sees FitzGerald traverse moodier terrain with a slow burning affair, bringing its loose beat in slowly over a wash of pulsating synths.

Here they return as Flame 2, once again offering up a pair of weighty dancefloor excursions. A-side "Dive" is a loud and claustrophobic affair, as the duo wraps dystopian dub bass and sparse, mutilated post-drill rhythms in layers of apocalyptic aural textures and mind-altering dub techno style processed noise. Flipside "Rain" is arguably more suitable for dancefloor plays and sees the esteemed twosome combine pulverizing sub-bass heaviness with dancehall style drums that come smothered in mind-melting effects and paranoia-inducing aural smoke.

"Unstable" is a meditative shimmering brew, unhurried and pace-setting while "Monolith" flips the vibe for something a little more warped and weird. Review: Four Flowdan tracks produced by Footsie, The Bug, Coki and Masro delivered on Hyperdub. This ticks so many boxes it's impossible to count them all. Naturally each track slaps with demonstrative clarity: "Ambush" rolls on a bed of 808s as Flowdan explains his tactics with confidence. It's the perfect entry point to an EP that gets angrier by the bar. "People Power" is concentrated menace: all droning bass and textured processes on the drums and Flowdan's evil spits. "F About" is a unique jam of snare rolls and off-beat twisted synth horns that's perfect for Flowdan's sermons on not messing around musically. "No Gyal Tune" finishes the set with loopy militancy; grab the money, grab the trophy... No one is murdering it like Flowdan right now. Serious business indeed!

Review: Big tune alert! Navy Cut main man Jack Sparrow gets his hands on "Welcome To London", one of the standout cuts from Roll Deep founder Flowdan's 2019 album "Full Metal Jacket", and the results are as weighty and wicked as you'd expect. His A-side vocal version is particularly potent, with the former Tectonic artist placing Flowdan's typically tight, on-point raps over a deep dubstep rhythm rich in snappy snares, metallic sounds, bursts of more organic-sounding percussion, razor-sharp stabs and a rolling, movement-packed bassline. The accompanying instrumental revision, which is stripped of nearly all of Flowdan's vocals, is equally as impressive, if only for Sparrow's subtle use of dubbed-out background vocal textures.

Sleepless (original mix)
Sleepless (Shlohmo remix)
Sleepless (Midland dub)
Review: Undoubtedly one of the most successful Australian operations of recent times, Future Classic have shown a willingness to step beyond the realm of disco-flecked house with their investment in the creative talents of Flume. The sickeningly young Sydney based beatmaker first came to the fore with a contribution to Anna Lunoe's well received debut EP on the FC label earlier this year, and Sleepless precedes the release of a full debut album later this year. "Sleepless" is a confident debut, chopping out a woozy melange of luscious pads, pitch shifted vocals and dreamy synth patterns over a killer mid tempo head nodders beat. Oh and you can't go wrong with remixes from Midland and Shlomo can you?

Normalize
Review: A dirty screwed-up anthem from Flux Pavilion who delivers a real gem with "Got To Know". Produced with stunning precision, this half-stepping monster rides a clever descending chord sequence that gets fleshed out with tons of bitcrushed bass. With a female vocal that drops on every 32 bars, it's utterly relentless. "Normalize" is more pacey - switching up tempos at the drop of a hat while the buzzing synths flit between octaves. Proof that Flux Pavilion just keeps getting sharper and sharper, this is not to be missed for bassheads everywhere.

Flux Pavilion - "Meathead"
J Sweet - "Bass Abuse"
Review: Out on N-Type's Wheel & Deal label, two futuristic takes on dubstep that really push boundaries and go out on a limb with devastating effect. Flux Pavilion's "Meathead" is a dirty mash-up of filtered distortion and space launch sound effects that juggles rhythms between a slow, almost Skwee-like half-step and an uptempo, synth-laden stomp. J Sweet's "Bass Abuse" is another smart and sophisticated dose of razor sharp snares and some classic sinewave synth sounds.

Kingsize (3:46)

All Talk (3:45)
Review: It's been a while since Foamy took us on a Plantpower trip but the wait is always worth it. Three tracks, all laced and wired with his unique off-kilter 140 funk, the tone is set by "Kingsize". Every bit as fat bottomed as its name suggests, there's a delightfully woozy off-beat feel running throughout. "2020" pushes us into next year with an energetic steppy twist. With strong UKG and UK funky feels, the bashy drums twist and turn around a bassline that's as foreboding as the future feels. Finally Mr Plate concludes with "All Talk". Understated and a precision balance of introspection and wriggly bass funk, don't be fooled by the title... It's actually all action. So should you be; every Plantpower release so far has completely sold out.

Moose Fly (4:40)
Review: The long-awaited "Nettle" has landed on his own Plantpower and it's not likely to hang around. An absolute slapper of a jam with a flabby bassline melting over the loosely baked drums, it thumps with such a simple but effective message. "Moose Fly" ain't no fading b-side either. A similarly lolloping, loopy cut but wrapped in a sci-fi sheen, it's another bullseye from the currently spotless Foamy one.

Cargo (3:42)
Oculus Rift (3:48)
Review: Deep space dub laced with toxic levels of funk: Foamplate makes his official debut with three really refreshing twists on contemporary bass. With its faraway flutes, squid bass and heavily textured rim shots, "7.5" is so out-there and wonky, you could imagine Roots Manuva spitting on it with ease. "Cargo" ups the spacious ante even further as prominent drum elements echo and shimmer over a stealthy sub. "Oculus Rift" brings us back to the woodwind flavours but with more of an eastern twang and cosmic feel. Essential listening: Each cut sounds like nothing else around right now.

Tabula (6:30)
Deadly Habit (4:32)
Review: Read over Foamplate's discography and it's like a who's who of premiere league underground bass imprints - Donga's Well Rounded, V.I.V.E.K's System, Sleeper's Crucial, Gully. Now with these high profile experiences to his name it's time to stamp the game with his own stable. Powerplant. If this launch release is to go by we're in for a treat. Both "Tabula" and "Deadly Habit" hum with that unique low-end elasticity Foamplate has made his name with. The former has a wry eastern twang to its melodic structure while the latter goes straight on a leftfield wonk march. As on-point and heavyweight as you'd expect.

Foamplate - "Fuzz" (5:07)
Corticyte - "Negative Space" (5:02)
Review: Despite announcing their retirement from the record label business earlier this year, it seems like Donga's Well Rounded operation has been coaxed back to the dark side (hooray!) with the arrival of a new endeavour Well Rounded Dubs. Never one to pander to trend, Well Rounded Dubs is concerned with music in the 140bpm / dubstep arena and launches with a 12" featuring some spacious steppers science from Foamplate and Corticyte. Up top local Brighton talent Foamplate makes an impressive vinyl debut with the swaggering sub anthem "Fuzz" (which features some nice field recordings of police sirens) whilst Gully Records affiliate opts for a stripped back approach on "Negative Space".

Review: Well Rounded Dubs chomp into 2019 with their first (300 limited) 12" of the year. And once again it's a showcase of next level talent as Foamplate and Sibla step up to the series. Foamplate (who was on the label launch release) returns with a vibrant, fuzzy piece of funk laden with trippy metallic harmonics and some serious off-grid funk in the drums. Sibla takes the flip with a stuttering slice of strange textures, harp plucks, crashing drums and so much sub you'll want to shave some off the record and bake with it. Well good mate.

I'm Going Down (4:14)
Review: Bristol's Foundation Audio label has dropped a couple of slabs of wax this month, and this limited edition 10" is one of them from the eponymous production team. It's a direct-to-dance floor two-track offering limited to just 300 copies but not limited in the damage it will do. There is a real tropical heat and r&b steaminess to 'One In A Million' thanks to its well-placed and frankly iconic 90s sample from Aaliyah. The flipside tune 'I'm Going Down' is again built around a brilliant r&b sample that wrenches at the heartstrings while hefty kicks and menacing low-end wobble build around the vocals. Two killers, for sure.

Ocras
Review: Oh yes, it's time for another slab of Text wax by Juno HQ favourite, Four Tet! Saying that it's been a good year for the London artist would be an understatement and it's safe to say that everything this man puts out if brimming with excellence. The beauty of "Jupiters" is that it struggles to fit into one specific genre, where those shuffling drums almost feel alive amid that growling bundle of sub-bass wizardry and elegant synth line madness. The B-side features "Ocras", a brilliant whirlpool of semi-house beats, deranged modular melodies and Four Tet's familiar experimentations into psychedelic atmospherics.

From Early (Fracture Reduction mix) (3:23)
Review: Long-standing futurist Fracture and Manchester murker Chimpo together on Metalheadz with two tracks that waggle willies at the very concept categorisation... You already know how this is going to go down. "From Early" goes through every shade of gangster, sparking up with some mad slo-mo jukey booty-bass wonk before dropping into a slice of 70s soul before finishing with a mangled future echo of Headz gone by. "Hard Food" is a straight up rave homage with every clanging breakbeat, detuned synth and teeth-baring bass you'll ever want to hear from the early 90s. Fracture finishes the picnic with a darker, steppier take on "From Early" sans the crazy 70s glitch. Seriously serious.

Compound One - "Look Shook"
Review: Fracture and Qualifide are proud to bring you the second piece of Compound One wax, hot off the presses. Compound One #2 sees
the release of Fracture's long-awaited 'The Phonecall, with its eerie stalker vibes, skunk-infested old-skool breaks, and filthy,
cavernous bassline. The bassline pressure intensifies 'on the flip side with 'Look Shook', which sees Fracture and Qualifide re-bonding
as Compound One. A deceptively minimal intro gives way to a havoc-inducing bassline switch-up, bound to cause wreckage. Both
tracks have had extensive play from the likes of Distance, Scientist, Slimzee, Appleblim, Slaughter Mob, Headhunter, and Scuba to
name a few. Grab these limited represses while you can.

Review: London-based imprint and club night Her release their first limited edition white label. Fraxinus has the honour of manning this pivotal release, and he's done so with a subverted cover of Big Ria's 1996 Baltimore standard "Knuckleheadz". Dicing Ria's vocal to smithereens and applying it over a stark, thundering grime riddim, it's instantly catchy and wholly physical. "Off Ends" acts as the consummate VIP. Which side you choose, you're guaranteed applause. Grab it while you can.

Dream Sequence (with Samba) (4:44)

Engulfed In Flames (4:40)
Review: Quest isn't mucking around with his new label Innerverse. Opening up the shop with hugely respected US dub/grime ambassador Jonah Freed, the statement of intent is firmly locked. The fire's lit with dark classical jam with Samba; "Dream Sequence" is based on a cascading, decaying loop that suddenly drops into the strings of your deepest sleep before snapping you back into mechanical funk wakefulness in a jolt. "Time Dilation" sees Jonah going deeper into the orchestral echo chamber as the slimy beats clank and shatters over the drama. Finally "Engulfed In Flames" sends us to zones we didn't know existed with a twilight loop twinkling from background to foreground over more of Freed's smoking beats. Solid gold.

Review: Feeling like there's not enough Francais in your life? You're not alone, Frenchless feel that vibe too. But that's literally all we know about this mystery duo at this minute. All we have are these heavy pressure sounds, but it's more than enough to go on for now... '3C 273' takes us to the stars on a rocket of absurdly dense kicks, a menu of percussive sounds and textures and haunting eastern pipes. 'Grunks' meanwhile takes us much deeper into their anonymous French-dry hearts with a lolloping, woozy system melter where the kicks once again take the lead and every vibey element duly follows. Merci la Frenchless... Qui que vous soyez!
