Review: Not On Earth's first release sold out in quick time - unsurprising given the reputation of Frankfurt based founders Bodin & Jacob. Their second is a various artists affair that shows off some of the talents they have unearthed, while Bodin also reappears with "A Walk In The Park." It's a brilliantly militant cut with clipped, marching beats and rasping bass squelches, and elsewhere Philipp Boss opens the EP with the slippery electro rhythms of "Lava". Griezman's "Decheterie" is an uptempo bit of proper first wave tech house a la Terry Francis. Closing out this more than handy EP is the hard edged electro-tech of "Zoober" from Martyne.

Review: Since launching in 2019, Bristol imprint Distorted Sensory Perception has released a handful of 12" singles that blend far-sighted electro with elements of intergalactic acid, IDM and sci-fi techno. It's a pleasingly otherworldly and futuristic sound that tends towards the timeless, as the label's latest 12" - a split affair - deftly probes. Experienced electro producer Paul Hammock dons his familiar Cignol alias on side A, combining deep, star-fall electro and psychedelic TB-303 acid lines on 'Events Unknowable', before opting for melancholic chords, deep space synths, squelchy bass and leisurely electro beats on 'Multicellular'. Rising star Gilbert takes over on the flip, shuffling between classic, acid-flecked sci-fi electro (the simply gorgeous 'Harmony and Space', and slightly punchier futurist dancefloor flavours (the equally as inspired 'Eleni', which is as gorgeous and a long, drawn-out summer sunrise).

Review: The latest missive on Cultivated Electronics' limited-edition offshoot offers up a quartet of cuts from artists based in the Hague, all of whom had some associated with the now closed cold war bunker turned studio space and online radio station Onderwereld. Cosmox kicks things off via the snappy, bass-heavy electro beats, creepy synth chords and spacey bleeps of "Electrostress", before 543FF wraps mind-altering, acid-style lead lines and paranoia-inducing electronic noises around a sludgy beat on "Easy". Over on the flip you'll find two versions of 543FF, Star Kid and Gamma Intel collaboration "Three City Firm": the dark, foreboding and mind-altering original mix, and a more minimalistic - but arguably heavier - club electro revision from 543FF.

Review: It's time for a showcase of the finest electro transmitting out of Spain, as Sismo invites Dark Vektor and Gravedad Cinetica to pool their talents on a 12" trip to the dark side of the force. At a time when the electro coming out of their country is at an all time high in both quality and quantity, on this 12" the duo prove themselves to be right at the crest of the wave. 'Hoy Tengo Ganas' is a pitch-perfect slice of synth noir which calls to mind Miss Kittin & The Hacker, while 'Galactic Echo' nods to Drexciya and Jonzun Crew in equal measure. There's some more experimental angles to 'La Cuarta Dimension' and 'You Clear Me The Space To Fall' comes on heavy with the influence of the Motor City pioneers from Stinson & Donald to Aux 88.

Review: The second release on RPX16035 takes us back into the beating heart of full-fat electro with a cast of emergent talents bitten by the machine funk bug. Digregorius is up first with 'Aurora Maia', a schlocky slice of twisted synth lines that draws parallels with labels like EYA and Partisan. Gianluca Pellerano has a definite video game soundtrack influence lingering over his track like he's battling an end of level boss. Marco Biagioli has a thumping 4/4 focus at work on equally spooked out 'Gate 5' while F Phono finishes the record off with the Italo-tinted 'We All Love Electro Dance' - a track title we can all get behind.

Review: Wormhole Wisdom's next three outings are reissues of Diode material that has become hugely sought after, as well as including Grumptronix's previously unheard tune "The Witching Hour": it is a brilliantly haunting electro tune with an eerie baseline echoing out into an empty sky while busy drums shuffle and wiggle in the foreground. As for Diode, "06Funk" is an elastic electro track with whip-snapping hits and sci-fi pads that tie you in knots, while "Waterhole" is a more thoughtful and insular track thanks to the gentle undulations of acid and melancholic chords that dampen down the icy hi hats.

Credit 00 follows up with the nasty funk of 'Delete Wack MCs' while Fastgraph gets rubbery and riotous on 'The Tunnel'. Review: Japanese label Fukuinn comes back for round two almost one whole year after their impressive debut. After repping four lesser-known artists in 2020, this EP is another various artists offering that showcases some fresh electro talent. 'Do_1 & GGGG' open up with eh turbocharged, break-laced electro of 'Gazuro Dice' while 'Weith' goes for something much more smooth and cosmic on 'Dynamics Of Flow.' The energy levels keep building on the flip side with the gurgling bassline and harmonic tones of 'Tadan' before Caramel Chameleon ends on a big and celebratory high with flailing drum work and bright, celestial chords.

Review: We know a rave/breakbeat EP from San Francisco when we see one, and are just as liable to get excited for it as you are. So strap in. The collaborative duo of two scene favourites Graeme McAllister, Eric James and Tim "Buna" Bibilla, E.T.I and Graeme first released 'Babyrise Bluedreamers' under the name 'Babyrise' way back in 1996, on their very own Oboro imprint which took after the infamous image of the ouroboros, i.e. serpent eating its own tail, as its logo. As much should be clear from such an image: this is an entheogenic breaks two-sider, with the opening 'Babyrise' working in vocal croaks and whispers between an energized rave pattern, and 'Bluedreamers' getting much slipperier with it, and its central twinge bass sounding like an alien spaceship hovering over the horizon.

Review: In something of a dream release for vintage electro fetishists, The Exaltics and Gosub team up for a funky-assed four tracker of straight-up machine beats. As ever The Exaltics has a techno propulsion to his tracks, providing a neat middle ground between four to the floor and electro breaks. Gosub break it off more, loading the cheeky bass synths with b-boy flair on "Plug In". However it's "You Can't Escape The Present" that shines out, capturing the hazy morning vibe of The Other People Place, stiff male vocal and all. For four fully formed and distinct jams, this release is undeniably on point.
