Cat: AC 005. Rel: 22 Jan 21
  1. Florion Heights (8:27)
  2. Comfort Zone (6:13)
  3. The Mothership (9:34)
Review: The Alien Communications universe expands with addition of a new sister imprint Space Dust. It kicks off with Bolam's adventurous Suspended Animation EP, a trip though space powered by a stylish mix of electro and techno. 'Florion Heights' sets off on the vogue with slippery drums and synths and nice cosmic pads that lead to a euphoric crescendo. 'Comfort Zone' has a more pensive and thoughtful vibe thanks to the suspensory pads and last of all, 'The Mothership' slows right down on churning drums with hopeful rays of melody shine through.

Return To Life
Return To Life (limited 12")
Cat: BLKMUSIC 008. Rel: 20 Jan 21
  1. Ready Set Flow (7:28)
  2. Sevn (7:30)
  3. To The Moon (5:03)
  4. Shadow In The Maze (8:02)
Review: Miami's Blkmarket Music are back with T.A.O. which is a collaboration of label chief Taimur with fellow NYC transplant Amo and Ostara. On the A side, we have the evocative breaks of 'Ready Set Flow' reaching near psychedelic moments in the vein of '90s rave legends Rabbit In The Moon, while 'Sevn' ventures further into ominous territory, beginning in half time grey area d'n'b style before lunging straight for the jugular in intense 4/4 impact. Proving there is more variety in the trio's repertoire is the UK style street sound of 'To The Moon' on the flip, with its skippy beats and infectious keys, followed by some trippy afterhours microhouse on 'Shadow Of The Maze' reminiscent of Amo's releases on Vatos Locos and Dissonant.

Trancematic EP
Trancematic EP (12" limited to 150 copies) (1 per customer)
Cat: FTF 001. Rel: 20 Jan 21
  1. Trancematic (6:43)
  2. Magnifisiuos (6:40)
  3. Electrify (5:52)
Review: This interesting one came in today and you could make an assumption or two based on the cover and title of 'Trancematic', but we were pleasantly surprised. The new release by the enigmatic Tripssy is actually an expression in ravey post-minimal techno, in the vein of labels like Cabaret, Art Of Dark and Time Passages. The title track's deep down and dirty bounce is the kind of euphoric fare you'd hear abroad Berlin's Hoppetosse on a Saturday night, while 'Magnifisiuos' uses a broken beat to guide its acid soaked aesthetic, with that gliding and resonating 303 taking you into the cosmos, and closing it out with the moody and hypnotic journey into the abyss called 'Electrify'.

Review: We might be into a New Year, but still electro remains one of the most dominate sounds in the underground. Analogical Force kick off their campaign for 2021 with a new double 12" from RTR that reaches far and wide. It opens with a fascinating fusion of jungle and electro that is lit up with pixelate melodies and then take sin ambient, liquid electro funk and flurries of IDM drums that leave you breathless. It's an adventurous and original record that peaks many times over, but 'S80' and its rubbery bassline is a standout for us.

Review:
Unknown to most and originating from Frankfurt am Main, Electrodefender has been tirelessly working away for over 20 years. And those credentials shine though in his fantastic new 12" for Childhood Intelligence. It's a real adventure with a melancholic start before 'In Old Times' mines a rueful and melodic electro vibe and 'The European Knight' then casts itself adrift in a cosmic universe. Mood is always high on this artists agenda and he delves into contemplation on 'Why' and joy on 'Ffm Graffiti Scene,'amongst others.

Mango & Patricia
Cat: 44TR 003. Rel: 18 Jan 21
  1. Marino - "Tacos In The Making" (5:31)
  2. Same O - "Nina" (Love & Lie mix) (5:22)
  3. Marino - "I Would Call My Dog Louis XVI" (6:00)
  4. Same O - "Ordid" (4:50)
Review: Time for a little French rave chaos as burgeoning Nantes record shop / label continue to blur the boundaries with a brazen breakbeat aplomb. Both relative newcomers to the scene, Marino and Same O step up with serious skills: Marino packs a timeless electroid punch with 'Tacos In The Making' riffing off Skee-Lo and 'I Would Call My Dog Louis XVI' stripping things back even further. Same O, meanwhile, goes full on rave with the nutty 'Nina' while 'Ordid' is much more techno in its mindset. Think Hacker but remixed by Black Sun Empire.
